@@gabihpaula I passed. I created a Reddit post in tips I used. This video helped with how I approached it. Using Tiaexams was great. And pocketprep app 1 week prior.
I took a 24-hour CAPM course at a nearby school. I'm not interested in being a Project Manager, but CAPM will benefit my career as a Network Engineer. I am always in the project team for Network Projects. Taking the CAPM July 27th thanks for the tips
This video was extremely helpful. I can’t wait to accomplish the cert. I’m getting my degree as well but because I still have some time left, I’m deciding to get this cert. the learning resource in their site is $400.. I almost want to purchase it just incase. I just wanted make sure I meet the requirements 😅
I just took mine today and didn't pass 😞. I am looking for additional resources to pass. I read Rita's book which helped but I feel like I need better test prep. There were a ton of "scenario" like questions. Please help
It’s a ‘nice to have’ but experience with transferable skills I find weigh more. What’s good is that companies can appreciate you taking time to improvement yourself.
I’ll never have a bachelor’s degree because there isn’t one for what I went to school for so these certifications, my degree, and my on the job experience will get me there. I’m too old to bite off student loans for a bachelor’s degree but this path is a wonderful alternative because I thought I’d gone as far as I could go but now I know there’s more. I’m so excited!
@@wanderluxekiki Great, that's helpful I already took that course, I am wachting lots of videos, taking pratice quizzes and reading the PMBOK 6th edition as well. I'm taking the exam this July 🙌
I have been a PMO analyst for about 2 years. Would fhe capm certificate help me land a PM job? Currently I'm struggling to make the change, but I am thinking this certification might help me.
It will help you land entry level roles in project management, such as a project coordinator or assistant to a project manager. With your experience you could benefit, however if you have the 36 hours of education, a bachelor's and verifiable experience running a project, you could jump right into the PMP. I'd say the CAPM is good if you are entry level, changing careers to project management, etc.
@@ApexAnimal1 thank you! I have actually made the change into a project lead in the last couple of months and it has been amazing. No certification required, just the years of experience.
@@anam.aria. nice! Thats good to know. I was in inside sales for the last 5 years at a certain EV company. Grew tired of the monotony of having the same conversation 100x a day. Congrats on your promotion!
hi @Thejessicablack, I finished my two-year postgraduate diploma from a Canadian College on August 16th. What should i put in Qualifying hours while applying for CAPM?
I have Bachelor’s in Business Administration (Specialization in Project Management). Will that substitute for the hours that we need to put in for PMP exam?
For the 23 education hours, would I be able to count time spent learning independently, such as studying the PMBOK and researching? Or MUST it be an actual course?
Thanks for the information sis! The delivery was concise and easy to digest. What are some other credentials or certifications that someone with no experience should acquire to shine above other candidates for entry level positions like project coordinator?
Hi, I am doing an MSc in project management, and now I am in the placement year (second year) of my master's. So, am I eligible to take the CAPM certification exam? I already completed a Bachelor's in engineering in 2016.
Hey thanks for your advice. I am currently looking on Udemy and there is a 23 hour course prep titled "CAPM exam prep seminar updated for the 2023 CAPM exam". Is this most up to date course prep to prepare for the current CAPM exam?
Hi , i am planning to start my career in project management. So should i schedule my exam before I start preparing or after gaining the knowledge. Which one is better ?
My wife is gonna want to know if this is a sustainable career or not cause I'm definitely interested but i want to leave the independent adjuster life cause its umstable.
Hey I have a question I am studying for my CAPM I know there isn’t a specific grade for that test. Is it determined by the overall exam grade or the grades for each domain?
There is an overall score bar that goes from Needs Improvement, Below Target, Target, and Above Target. Where you fall on that bar graph depends on your average score of NI/BT/T/AT based on the 13 domains that the exam covers.
Hey Jessica, thanks for the insights and tips so far. I appreciate your directness. I watched your video on is the google PM certificate of completion worth it (I already took the course...but feel like you touched on it's lacking). However, would that satisfy the 35 hours needed for the CAPM? Do you need to take the CAPM before you can take the PMP? I have some experience as an entry level project manager but I also have more than a decade in education which involved managing projects. So I'm trying to figure out how to best transition and if the PMI will allow me to count my experience in education towards their 36 month requirement.
Hey! Yes, the google course counts towards the education requirement. CAPM is not required to take the PMP, and any projects you’ve managed will count towards the 3 year work experience requirement.
Is it necessary to take Udemy course to be eligible for taking the exam? I have studied project management during my Bachelors and Masters which accounts above 23 hours of my coursework.
Thank you for the clear explanation. I do have one question. Does the PDU hours expire? Let's say I took a course now and I do my exam after 6 months. Does the PDU hours still be considered?
