Hey Babish, being a deaf person, I require your closed captions, and I appreciate you taking the time to throw in the puns and references you make. Especially when you use the word Thicc to describe dough.
Steve Colt I am not deaf, but I often watch videos with subtitles and no sound. What I realized is: -Many big channel don’t have actual subtitles/only auto generated -News and sports channels’ lag horribly behind, making it confusing to watch -There are only really a variety of language subtitles on channels with international viewers (at the very least for US channels it should have English and Spanish) -A description of the type of music playing or tone of voice in movie subtitles is crucial for full understanding -Many are positioned in a way where it is difficult to tell who is speaking if multiple people are present I think we should put more time into improving this experience for the deaf/hard of hearing, as media is a connecting factor in society, therefore it should be widely accessible.
This motivated me to go rewatch the video with captions on, and I really can't say I regretted it. Seriously, I had no idea I was missing a "that's what she said" joke here until today. Thanks, Caption Joke Dude.

This is awesome as a New Orleans native and a person who's been to Cafe Du Monde quite a few times in their life glad to see something from where I live on the menu for Binging With Babish
Depends on the person, me personally I loved the movie though that may be just because it was the first Black Disney Princess and despite not liking my hometown as much as I used to it's always interesting to see it mentioned in media.
I liked it because it had style it got away from the classic fairy tale settings and embraced New Orleans and black culture I especially loved the jazz soundtrack
You just have to go to Café du Monde. It's awesome. It's filthy, all the tables are sticky but the whole experience is just right. You go back in time at that place.
You can always go to the Cafe du Monde outside of New Orleans. You get the iconic beignets, with the cleanliness of most restaurants. I don't hate the one in New Orleans; but as a native, it is both gross & a tourist trap. No lie, it used to be alot better; but after it changed hands, the quality of the place went down. But things change & time goes on

Even with all that advice, it still doesn’t taste the same. I don’t know how and I don’t know why, but no one can make beignets like the wizards in Cafe du Monde. They’ve literally told me everything they do. Is it the humidity, the temperature, the size of the vats, the quality of the flour? It’s like New York pizzas. You just can’t get them anywhere else in the world.
I don’t understand, if they are supposed to be fluffy, doesn’t that mean that there is air inside? I’m talking about the flavor. I’ve seen southern grannies that make them outside of New Orleans. I’ve tried authentic beignets from my creole aunt, who moves to Canada 23 years ago. They still taste awesome, but nowhere near as good as Cafe du Monde.

I’m from Louisiana and I have to agree with the folks in the comments when I say that they’re overrated. They’re definitely good but a better tasting meal would probably be the gator sausages from that one stand in the French market.

D B we may be talking about two different types of beignets because food like this commonly have a family tree of different proto and alternative versions
Being a Cajun Louisiana native, I can agree that Cafe Du Monde makes the best Beignets in the world. New Orleans is close to me, and I go all the time. it's so weird that people want to go and see it so bad. It's god lovely French and Spanish history alongside beautiful buildings and food, but im so used to it it's hard to imagine anyone even knows about Louisiana.
i remember watching princess and the frog so many times as a kid. the beignets always looked like the most delicious food youve ever seen, i swear. disney food always looks so much tastier than the real thing
Love the video and the puns!! I would suggest adding fruit such as raspberries, strawberries, or peaches and folding your rectangle over that so you can have a fruit filling!! These were one of my favorites growing up.
- I'm here for the narration. 🙈 - Also, I didn't know how to say Beignets before this video, thanks for that. Somehow my brain skipped it when I watched chef. Lol. - I'd love to be his neighbor! Free Beignets, dudes.
First time I ever had beignets in my life was my week trip to Louisiana. They were the best thing I’ve ever had in my life. They were super powdered though!
I used evaporated milk instead of buttermilk and they came out perfect! thank you :). I halved the recipe and when I cut it in rectangles I put the rectangles in the fridge and I fried a few for breakfast every morning. They lasted me a week in the fridge in a container.

In Chile we make something similar called calzones rotos, using eggs for a chewier texture and lemon or orange rind for a subtil flavor addition.

DNateD based babish
So this is dessert will kill you then?
Larvitar Dratini based wasnt a typo
Larvitar Dratini no he meant based not biased my friend
Larvitar Dratini based is a joke you don’t understand and no she’s not pretty cool she’s and idiot and a socialist
Imagine living in a complex where babish lives
The amount of free food he'd probably have to give
I wish I was that lucky
i remember watching princess and the frog so many times as a kid. the beignets always looked like the most delicious food youve ever seen, i swear. disney food always looks so much tastier than the real thing
The Princess and the Frog is nothing compared to The Babish and the Recipe
I'd watch.
Babish is my princess
UnPhayzable The Babish and the Fond 😉
Hold up ...... let's not go that far
~In the South land, there's a city
~Way down by the river,
~Where all the women are very pretty,
~And all the men deliver...
Binging with babish should have a guest appearance in feast of fiction
Love the video and the puns!! I would suggest adding fruit such as raspberries, strawberries, or peaches and folding your rectangle over that so you can have a fruit filling!! These were one of my favorites growing up.
In the morning I’ll be taking my second crack at this recipe. They’re good! This time I’m adding a touch more sugar to the dough.
- I'm here for the narration. 🙈
- Also, I didn't know how to say Beignets before this video, thanks for that. Somehow my brain skipped it when I watched chef. Lol.
- I'd love to be his neighbor! Free Beignets, dudes.
This would be a great dessert after eating a delicious bowl of Ichiraku Ramen from Naruto... If only Babish could teach me how to make it
Weeb
Jk i tried to make the dish before but failed so i would love to see babish have his take at it!
Just look up "how to make weeaboo super noodles" or something, you'll probably get an answer
I’d love to see him make the noodles from scratch, too. They can be difficult to make, though...
Stfu weeb
lowkey hinting for babishes next video
I saw how quickly he was getting this done and then saw the video length. HIs humor is neverending
First time I ever had beignets in my life was my week trip to Louisiana. They were the best thing I’ve ever had in my life. They were super powdered though!
I made these just the other day!!! They're so gooood
You did New Orleans proud. Thanks my guy
Are you from New Orleans? I'm only asking cause I wanna know if this recipe actually makes authentic New Orleans beignets
@@pureimagination3825 yessir. Lived in or around New Orleans most of my life. These are pretty faithful to how they are down here
I got some of that mix directly from Cafe Du Monde, made some this morning, it was delicious
THIS IS MY ALL TIME FAVORITE VIDEO THAT FOOD IN THE MOVIE IS MY FAVORITE THING IN ANYYYYY MOVIE
Adorable Whisk ™©®
“Turn it to generously floured counter-top, I’m talking “Scrooge at the end of a Christmas Carol” generous.” LMFAOOO
I used evaporated milk instead of buttermilk and they came out perfect! thank you :). I halved the recipe and when I cut it in rectangles I put the rectangles in the fridge and I fried a few for breakfast every morning. They lasted me a week in the fridge in a container.
Me at 3 am:
*watching this and doing what he is*
Mom: *turns the lights on* ?
Me: .__. Uh...happy mother's day-
That's sweet lol
All I’m saying is he missed a prime opportunity to say “welcome to beignets with babish” 🤷🏻♀️
4:08 I wish I was his neighbor who gets to eat all the leftovers from the show.
as a person born in new orleans i have no idea how they make it but it taste like heaven
thanks for this
That Ocasio-Cortez comment though... So on point!
She's more of a communist than a liberal, but I knew what he meant and I like a topical reference.
@@gloriouscontent3538 She's not a communist. What tf are you talking about? She supports social democracy. Not socialism or communism.
David Dolce Leave it, he wouldn’t understand
gesman5000 when people watch nothing but Fox News that label her as a communist nonstop without looking into her beliefs, it’s impossible to reason with them.
