@@atbmts6 nothing's wrong with what he said, I've been through three major hurricanes in my life, hurricane Camille, hurricane Katrina, and hurricane Harvey. At this point the surge is already built up the wind is already built up enough to do catastrophic damage. If it has a 3 it will have the same surge as a 4 do some actual research. This is the perfect storm scenario I was referencing Katrina because Katrina was at 5 for days and then went down to a 3 it came with a 30 ft storm surge... That of a category 5. Come back in 2 days and tell me how I'm wrong. This damage is going to be devastating because this will be a direct hit on a major populated area. So to answer your question a category 3 hurricane in Katrina did more damage than any category 5 that ever hit.

It will be too close to shore to really bring in much
Predicted to landfall around 2 AM. Low tide 2:34 AM. It will be low tide. Regardless, folks will be losing their roofs in the dark, with a long time till morning
