By daylight we were all exhausted laying on one bed and went outside to play a game of name that roof. Destruction was everywere.

Almost immediately after making this video, Milton made the right turn that he talks about... and it dropped to 130 mph, down from 145 that he mentions. You can see the right turn and eastern movement at the tail-end of his radar loop. Had he waited 15 more minutes to do his analysis, he may have painted a quite different picture. The northward shift in the models are again back to the south and over Sarasota again. If weakening continues at this rate, it may only be Cat 2 at landfall.

When I lived in south Florida we watched hurricane Andrew coming straight in to south florida, Brian was the hurrucane expert back then and talked us through the landfall until Andrew knocked down broadcast towers and antennas on Saga Bay. The day after andrew I didnt recognize my neighboorhood. Total destruction like a bomb went off. Milton seems like Andrews offspring, Get out!! If you just watch the National Hurricane Center consistently, they have talked about the wobble to the North closer to Tampa throughout when it got to this point, even though the media has been pushing Sarasota for the past day or so. Bryan is correct to temper the latter judgement.

I was driving home from work in the dark when Andrew turned last minute and hit Miami instead of Ft. Lauderdale. Timing is everything.

60 miles is NOT a huge margin when you're talking about a massive hurricane with a massive center.
It is when the location of the eye is what's going to determine whether Tampa gets a 12 foot storm surge or a 1 foot storm surge.
