- Another one of my favorite Dimmu songs of all time.
This is the live version from 2001, when they had their best line-up!

OHHH YURRRRRR!!!
I visit this video every couple weeks for years. Absolutely incredible!
dude THANK YOU!
I love that you took this live version! Barker really took this song to the next level!
It's really great seeing more and more people saying what I've been saying for more than 20 years now, regarding Nick's work. It was 1996 when I bought CoF's Vempire EP and discovered his drumming. I'm not even a drummer, I'm a guitar player, and back then I was just a 13 year old teenager discovering extreme metal, but I knew a bunch of extreme metal bands already. None, NONE, had that kind of fast, precise, dynamic and, above all, MUSICAL drumming. Nick is a school of his own, pediod.
@@JaimeNoro Well I am a drummer and I can tell you that you're absolutely right. Nick might be the greatest of all time. I think his best work is on the Old Man's Child album 'In defiance of existence'.
Agreeeeeed
@@Gnomosfortheoffice
That is the best old man's child album
Wanja!!
When Vortex starts singing the hair on the body stands \m/
You mean goosebump?
*"This is the live version from 2001, when they had their best line-up!"* I agree, bring back Barker and Vortex!
Don't forget Mustis too. love that lineup
Negative: Hellhammer 2005
Don't care long as Galder and Silenoz are on noodle duties.
Barker is the shit.
I don't get why Hellhammer is in such high praise.... Dude is fast... yes?
Nick Barker, Vortex & Mustis.....great times!! so much passion hey! Great cover man, awesome skills! by the way, good choice the live track!
Stian aarstad
One of the few people that can play Nick barker fills effortlessly good shit dude glad to see the channel blew up
not effortless hahaha! but thank you so much dude
i miss vortex
Antonio TF I miss Mustis too :(
Antonio TF
i miss Nicholas too
Antonio TF I miss Gandalf
You are amazing man
There are two things that make me proud as a Norwegian: Our nature and our metal :D
You and Barker both play the drums with this melodic element that puts the drums on a whole other level. It's not just rhythm, you're using high and low frequency pieces to accompany the melody. It's unreal.
I need Samus playing Deeds of Flesh in my life
Awesome!! Makes me want to bust out the old CD's. I miss Vortex!!
AMAZING MIRACLE
Fantastic and passionate skill.
Man I come back to this video all the time, still. Hearing it 6 years ago was the first time I'd heard it (wasn't super familiar with Dimmu at the time) and wow, the combination of the live version and your phat drum sound is magical.
thank you so much Mack!!!
Your precision impresses me time and time again and you did the live version one of the best dimmu songs, just great to watch and listen
One of my favourite DB songs. When I first heard Spiritual Black Dimension Nick Barker had just joined and with me being a huge fan of his from COF I couldn't wait to hear him play this.
This was the best lineup for me.
You sir have done a mighty fine job.
Peace 😗💨
Similar story here. A friend had told me about this Norwegian band with the pevious drummer of Cradle of Filth. Live changing.
Spiritual Black Dimensions is an amazing album!!!!! I still have the special edition pentagram CD somewhere.
Always wanted that one. This version is on the skull-shaped "Alive In Torment" CD.
You... you... LOST IT?!?!
Also criminally underrated, in my opinion
Who remembers his cover of Blessings years ago. I'd love to hear Sympozium or Maelstrom Mephisto.
Lorcan Ward.
Yes! My fav songs of Puritanical.
Shoot I need to watch it
Well lucky us, because he did cover The Maelstrom Mephisto.
All hail Nicholas Barker, one the best drummers. Ever. Samus you come in close man though, can't wait for the madness of DB's new opus. \m/
Absolutely amazing! My favourite version from my favourite line up ever...great job Samu! Rock on \m/
Great drumming, loved every moment of it
Blown my f@cking mind! One of my favourites... Great drum cover!
Awesome playing and sound, absolutely loved it!
Wow amazing. Flawless
Love all your videos man . Would love to see a foot camera catching some of that sick footwork!
Completely agree this was their best line up, whenever I hear this song I hear Nick Barker's fills and placements cos they are much better than the original, also this Germany show from the DVD is still the best example of Dimmu live IMO! Great job dude, awesome cover as always!
You are one of the best, I love the way you play !!!! Keep going dude !!!!
Thank you for this.
SICK, one of my favorites dimmu borgir songs!
I’m not sure how anyone can legitimately give you a single thumbs down. Your execution is relaxed, smooth and near perfect. Shame on all of you for not appreciating the skill. This guy is a beast! Keep up the great work. 🤟😈🔥

That was great. I don't like listening to this type of metal often but you make watching this type of drumming super fun.
Epic. I always enjoyed this performance more than the studio version. Solid playing as usual Samus.

Samus, I've been hooked on your videos for a year or so, and gotta say, you're easily one of my favorite drummers. Your taste in cover choices, and execution are so spot on, there's no denying it. SEX!

Nothing could touch old Dimmu Borgir...
Dude, I miss this era! Dimmu was a black metal gateway band for me in high school. Nick Barker on drums and ICS vortex...man.
