Chris Nagy, thanks! In this case the Volca Drum’s output from the headphone jack was running into the Monotron Delay via the aux input, then into my phone via an iRig 2. You could run both of your Volcas to a mixer and run sync from the sync out of one to the sync in of the other? This will get most Volcas’ clocks synchronized so that the tempo stays the same (though I had an issue with my old Volca Beats sometimes together with the FM).
Thanks for watching, and for the compliment! Audio comes from the Drum into the Monotron’s aux, then from its headphone out to an iRig 2 to record straight into my phone with the app iRig Recorder. There are better ways to do it, but I have a budget! As for the Monotron’s noise, I don’t think it’s too bad until the feedback knob is past a certain level. I don’t really fight it, I just try to keep the feedback reasonable. Listening to the Monotron by itself the noise is easy to notice, and it did affect the Drum’s sound considerably. Many of the parts sounded very different on a clean signal.
After thinking about it some more, maybe the noise people talk about with the Monotron Delay could also be how grainy it can sound. It’s pretty evident on the sound I had on part 6. Something to do with high pass? I’ve noticed that the high end seems to feedback and echo stronger than the low end. Personally, I love that stuff about it!
Enjoying this very much! Very spacey indeed! 👽
Thank you, Alien!
