I like playing synth music in Okinawa
Sunshine to Shadows
This is just two variations of one pattern then a third one I was playing with stitched together through the Syntakt’s song mode.
I really like how song mode works. I always imagine it’s a little like how writing music for games was when I was a kid before CD quality music was able to be used. It’s a bit like a reframed tracker I suppose.
It’s about 32°c here today and for some silly reason I decided to get baked in the sun with my favorite synth.
Give it that real analog warmth!
I don’t think I’ll try this again until winter.
☀️
Anyway, you have a nice weekend! Drink water and eat something salty if you’re somewhere warm too.

Another night playing my family to sleep. I’m using the Syntakt’s keyboard fold to play the Microfreak, soaked in Mood MkII reverb. This pad preset is called Cryda Chords and I think it’s gorgeous. It’s got just the wobble and noise to it that I love. Bless whoever designed this patch.

Little thing that came together today on the Syntakt and Microfreak. The MF is using the Karplus string engine for the harpsicord like sound and getting a little flavor from the Mood MkII pedal. I started there and added elements that felt suited to a dark cyber synth wavey kind of sound but with waltz like timing. Song mode to perform the mutes for my lazy booty. 🐰 And happy Father’s Day to al...

Just some noodling on the MS-20 mini. I’ve got a couple other things I’m cooking up, but not nearly as much free time as I wish to wrap them up. I’ll get there. I’m also nervous about the way music is these days. I think AI is pretty neat, but I’m cautious about its use already in music. It’sa little discouraging. I think I’ll start showing my fuzzy head on here more to prove I’m not a robot. M...
A Handful of Patterns on the Sonicware Liven Mega Synthesis

When I was a kid my family got a Sega Genesis (Megadrive) at Christmas. I’ve been cursed by a love for FM synths since… I’m so dang nostalgic for the sounds and music of that era that when this little groovebox was announced I ordered right away! Liven Mega Synthesis… M-Sega S-Genesis… ? I got the flu right when it arrived so I hadn’t spent as much time with it as I planned. I got better! It’s ...

cant believe it
It’s true!
Great fun! Talking about games, would you try an attempt to Rob Hubbard's Commando soundtrack? (probably C-64 version is the most dynamic song) 😍
That IS a heck of a game tune, but one of our friends has already done an excellent job on it! ua-cam.com/video/_8hd8QymVh0/v-deo.htmlsi=fPa6rbF6E6wr8gQ_ I’m open to other suggestions though.
@@RobbekenSynthMusic Great SIDtakt version indeed, thanks for sharing.
@DrKunz SIDtakt😄
@@RobbekenSynthMusic couldn't resist 😂
Awesome sounds great with that reverb. I am jealous your soft pop can lock into quantized notes in scale.
Thank you! I like that feature a lot. Makes it very playable with the somewhat minimal interface. Do you have one too but it’s unable to use scales?
@@RobbekenSynthMusic I have the soft pop version 1, It does not have scales on the sequencer
Oh I see! I’m late to the party😅
Fantastic!!! 🤩
Thank you!
Love it! Thank you.
Hey awesome! No, thank you!
🫨🫨🫨
I was really worried about it falling!
Surprised it didn't melt, if this was filmed today! Hot as a mofo here.
Too hot! The Syntakt was alright, but I melted!
Eat the rabbit
Rabbit is pretty lean.
At 3.33. And 6.15 minute it sounds so good i love it. : )
Those are one’s I’m particularly proud of. Thank you!
Very nice and calm. ✨👏
I’m happy you like it!
Very calm and beautiful, works on a Monday morning too!
Happy to hear that! Thank you.
Gorgeous!
Thanks, Dan! And may you have a gorgeous day!
The arrangement echoes in a certain way D.M. Sweetest Perfection, but sweeter 🙂 👍
Oh, I hear what you mean now! It is close in ways. Well, thanks Dr!
@@RobbekenSynthMusic thank you for sharing!
💃🎶 Groovy! 😎
You’re groovy too!
My ears thank you. Enjoy the pineapple!
They prepped it before I noticed and we already ate it! Thanks fellow rabbit fan.
happy listening:-)
You’re fast! Thank you, though! Hope you have had a nice weekend.
AWESOME 👌 😊
Feels good to play these noises. Thanks!
Oh man this is lovely!
Thanks Dan man!
That pedal is so cool, I hope it arrives in my arsenal sooner or later! Congratulations, excellent project with many evolutions, a real swing!
It is a lovely little thing and I like what it does to my sounds. Thanks for listening to my musings!
Big drum programming lesson. Simply love it!
I’ll teach you my secret: I’m always winging it. Thank you for listening! I’m glad you enjoyed it.
✌️cool ✌️
Thanks!
that´s a nice trick... triggering the accent while looping - thanks for the new homework with my VolcaDrum 😉👍
Heck yeah. It’s a real good one!
5:49 great wee tune 😁
Ever play Sonic 3?
@@RobbekenSynthMusic ye
@bladesofvengeance heck yeah. I have a fondness for all the special stage music in those 16 bit Sonic games. My number one is from Sonic 2!
Nice job 🤗 👍such an awesome tiny machine , just got mine recentl….impressed after the first half hour 🤗🔥👍
Glad to hear of other people enjoying it. Have fun!
❤
yeah, fug it. lets hear some metrosynth
Getting my hands on the Mega Synth got me curious as to what else Liven had put out. You’re selling this B&B HARRDDD ✊🏼
I’m no salesman, I’m just always looking for the right gear for me! I’ve had fun with a few Livens, but Mega Synthesis is my favorite. B&B will have you making cool beats fast. It’s wavetables for the bass side which I didn’t enjoy it as much as FM stuff so I don’t have one anymore.
@@RobbekenSynthMusic I’m a newbie when it comes to all this, so I’ll plead ignorance and still say “it looks cool, so I want it” 👀 Either way, great content and another follower
Hey thanks! Not a bad way to discover. Have fun making music!
FIRE video man.
Thank you! I love Metroid and music. Made sense to me!
digital and analog working together the way they should be.
PB&J.
groovin', the other guy already said nice.
Either way, thanks for giving me a listen!
Imaginative. 😄
Thanks for listening. Hope you’re well!
@@RobbekenSynthMusic Yes, thank you. Gathering ideas for next vids. 😄
Beautiful ~ combined with truthful gaming of the original classic
Thank you! I was having fun.
If Mozart was alive in 2024, he would own a Roland S-1!
I wonder…
That acid sound really hit me by surprise. But I like it a lot, great track!
Thank you, doc! Love a bit of squishy acid. Have a lovely week and keep making music!
@@RobbekenSynthMusic I will :D That acid sound is from the Syntakt, right? How did you create it? Could you spare some details? :D
Ooh lucky! I was worried I had overwritten it since it was sequenced by T-1 here. I’ll send you a message elsewhere. It’s not too crazy, but showing you the parameters per page will be easier than typing it all. I’m glad you like it! I didn’t think too hard about it. I think Syntakt could can go real hard in acid in the right hands. I’m too chill maybe!
so good!
Thanks, it’s quick fun. You do lots of cool stuff with it too!
@RobbekenSynthMusic I wish I could! This is next level really. I hope I can get there. Softpop sounds absolutely amazing. I just finished a track and was able to incorporate some sounds from it.
Heck yeah. Keep going! It’s an awesome time to be into synths
Softpop looks like a blast nice 👍jam
Ton of fun. Thanks!
At first I was like "what?" but then I was like "hmmm" and finally was like "yeah!".
And I was like “whoa”, and now I’m all “thanks”!
Absolutely stunning..!

Wonderful track!
You have a wonderful evening!
Dreamy. Less is more 🙂
It’s hard to keep restrained when I’m excited to sequence with it! I’ll get there. Thanks!
@@RobbekenSynthMusic The same here, and I must always remember to keep an eye at the clock 😄
Lovely dream!
Thanks a bunch! A lot less of a moody track tonight.
massively compound:-)
Thank you. Have a nice week!
Peaceful tune 👍 Not sure if you already know: holding Temp+Pattern lets you apply momentary changes to all the tracks, then raising your fingers the pattern instantly go back to its original state.
Yes, that’s right! I keep forgetting about that.😅 I just learned how to reload a saved bank for example. I think T-1 is very nice, but learning it is taking some adjustment. I’ll get there!
@@RobbekenSynthMusic Definitely the T-1 can do many things! IMO it's convenient to initially focus on a selected range of functions and keep on practicing until you build a solid ground, then add new functions/operating modes.
Thanks for the advice! I’m excited to try everything on it, but I do learn a little bit every time I use it. Focus is a good idea.
@@RobbekenSynthMusic Cycles are helpful in composing and arranging a song, especially if you wish to use the T-1 as a traditional sequencer.
I’ve barely dug into cycles as of yet, though I see how useful they are. I recently learned how to set different values at different steps of a cycle, but I keep forgetting other simple elements like even adding more cycles to a pattern for example. Have to keep digging in to that manual!
So has the TJRSO replaced the launchpad for you?
As a sequencer, yes. For live expressive play, not yet. I hope I can develop the skill to build a song intuitively on this thing, but it’s a little like a new language. Rhythms are fast, but melody is taking some work for me to learn.
out of the box:-)
I’ll be winging it with this one for a while.
So dark
I know. Sometimes I’m terrible at lighting.
