Associated Rival MT10 for a beginner. Equally fun, equally fast, maybe even easier to control in the air, almost as tough and you can’t ignore it’s half the price
I loved my Maxx v2. I say loved, because I got an Arrma Notorious last week, and dude. I just can't believe I didn't give Arrma a chance before. Love the thing
I'm glad you posted that comment Steven. I would have considered the Maxx V2 but due to supply issues I bought an Arrma Notorious V5 yesterday and it's is awesome. So stoked 🙌
@@flhandster4395 The Notorious is a fantastic stunt truck. Pretty bloody tough too. Needs a stronger wing mount/wheelie bar. Of all my RCs it's not my favorite but it's still a blast to drive. Out of the box the Maxx would have to be stronger I'd imagine.
Man, I really like the MAX V2. I just got both my kids one, upgrade from rustler 4x4's. They beat the heck out of these, and nothing broke yet. Just a beast of a truck!!! Good Stuff for sure!!
I searched for a maxx 2 on 3s, the 4s is just fine, very fast but I actually don't like rc cars that are ultra over powered. 3s on this car seems very suitable, in my opinion.
Good video. Seems to be rather robust. Just curious, which 3S mah battery were you using with the WideMaxx in this video? Thank you for your time and reply. 😎👍🏼
I think this is same for many different RCs. They are generally over powered. I run my V5 Typhon 6s exclusively on 4s. It has been tuned to still be fast and responsive but way less prone to breaking parts or shredding gears.
I was thinking about going to 6s on my radix6 and I've upgraded to the spring steel drive cups all round, my question is what other parts will ware out if I go to 6s? Please educate me!!!
With all that chassis slap you need a heavier shock oil or some better shocks. It should NOT slap that hard. Even when he sends it to the moon, I don't hear Kevin Talbots land that loudly. Sh**ty shocks equals heavy slapping. And I would disagree that this is a "beginners" basher/truck rc. One main reason is the ridiculous price tag of $600 for the rc ONLY. That does NOT include battery with charger that bumps it up to almost $800. BUT it is a nice, tough little rig.
That chassis slap makes this truck hard for me to buy my slash and stampede land on a pillow but this thing owch proline make a new shock for the maxx maybe it would help problem is they are over 200 for the set
Bro don't be afraid to give it the beans when your have to. You will actually end up breaking something on the truck that your shouldn't have because your were afraid to really drive it
My truck is new out of the box and the spur makes a sound like "wha wha wha" sound. Sounds like where the spur meets the pinion. Mesh is good. Does yours do that? I've heard a steel spur might be quieter so I have one of those ordered.
Got the same, you can run like that it's no a problem, it's come from the core diff you can ask to your seller to get the stuff for free, traxxas now they have a issue about the rear and front diff core, I'm on 10 pack withiit any problem except this sound... You can check m'a short video on my UA-cam account if it's the same noise
@@freeman9048 yeah that’s the sound alright. I suggest taking the pinion out and rolling the truck and see if the sound remains. I saw a guy on UA-cam go to a steel 46 spur and it was soooo quiet.
@@donald2818 I got contact with traxxas and they said that was the cordiff! They gave me the bits for free but I still not change the part for the moment but soon maybe on the weekend, I try to do a short video of rolling for you to show was its exactly is
My brand new Traxxas Maxx out-of-the-box is making noise brand new Max V2 I'm contacting Traxxas this morning and I'm not happy they use plastic spur gear on top of charging outrageous money I would never buy another Traxxas car going to be team corally or Arma

Just curious. Are you still stoked with the Arrma Notorious? I’m looking strong at the Wide Maxx V2. Thanks for your time.

It's a big price tag all in when you include everything you need to get started, I'd suggest the Granite,Typhon or Big Rock for a beginner.
Good choice and they too can be run on 2s for newbies for loads of fun that's unlikely to break much. 😀
Agreed
I have the big rock and it’s a beast with the 20 tooth pinion!
Arrma fanboy I see
@@1987fordranger first one I’ve ever had so not enough knowledge to be a fan boy
Big rock v3 into Tekno MT410 was the path I took and I'll never regret it
That spot is just amazing! I don't have anything even close to that around here in TX. Great video as usual!

yeah i agree, i only run mine on 3s and it has a decent speed still
@harlyquin very nice. Looks like an awesome rc really.
Just bought my 1st RC last week...wanted the Maxx, but couldn't find one in my area so went with the Corally Sketer.

Maxx is awesome on any cells. Just a great machine.

Yeah for sure the lower the speed you run them the less they will break.

I let my son drive on 4s 🤣 He did really well with the V1 and even better with the V2. The longer/wider stance is pretty awesome 🤩

And I would have to agree with you. Over priced to the Maxx !!! And it still broke 😄
yeah, the price is the problem, this should really be more like a $450 truck
Team Corally Sketer is very solid beginners rc. Tuff and cheaper than Maxx
Jeez that chassis slap is insane. That's even after you went with thicker shock oil right?
Awesome RC and bashing brother
Nice run with the Maxx. Your mic seems to make every hit and jump seem really violent!
That chassis slap makes this truck hard for me to buy my slash and stampede land on a pillow but this thing owch proline make a new shock for the maxx maybe it would help problem is they are over 200 for the set
Wow that ground is dry and hard as concrete I would say.
yeah, it really is! Need some rain.
Best beginner truck for 700$ ? Arrmas and Team C.. are more afordable
I have a maxx upgraded everything besides the chassis and it don't go very fast I have on 3s tho is that the problem ?
Good video mate. How is the Maxx holding up after a few months of bashing? Maybe i gonna buy a Maxx V2. Subscribed to your channel bro 👍🏼🔥
Thanks for the sub! The Maxx is the toughest basher out there IMO.
Bro don't be afraid to give it the beans when your have to. You will actually end up breaking something on the truck that your shouldn't have because your were afraid to really drive it
How would you compare it to the big rock on 3s? I think the big rock goes around 50 on 3s with stock gearing. Is this more durable?
The Maxx is way more durable, easier to get parts, way more expensive, 4S is about the same speed, drives worse.
@@RazorRC drives worse than the big rock?
@@robsrcinsanity1220 for sure, but you can't break the Maxx, so...???
@@RazorRC that means a lot!
Good video ,👍 .
Thanks 👍

steel is louder, so that's not going to help
@@freeman9048 you’re saying it’s inside the diffs? It sounds high in the chassis at the spur pinion connection.

Upgrade more like down grade

Little bit pricey for a beginner but definitely one of the most durable trucks out there!!!
