If this helps the coolant capacity in this engine is 11 liters which is almost 3 full gallon jugs of coolant hope this helps

@@christopherjpeters at least that 2.3l water is external and not inside of the front timing cover like the 3.5l v6. I'm actually looking at an explorer with the 2.3l and I'm trying to do my research ahead of time

Absolutely, the internal ones are no fun. When I do those I will also replace the timing chain and cam phasers if equipped just because I'm in there
