The rounded wood blocks are called deadeyes. Also in the builds i did so far, these shrouds converged in the top, above the crows nest Then again, i don`t know the plans of this particular build, so it may as well be in the build instructions. Also, usually the ratlines only go up till the "puttingwant " . ( i don`t know the english name, but its the ropes from the spacer to the crows nest . I also always try tho to have a little slack in the ratlines, that way you won`t squeeze the shrouds. This build is on my list. But, 1 on the bench and 1 in the box, it will have to wait. Looking good, keep it up!!
thanks, I'll refer to the deadeyes as such in the future! Can you name a model where the shrouds end above the crow's nest? Then I can have a look :-) And thanks for letting me know about the ratlines - the fewer I have to make, the better. I'm looking forward to seeing your results on this model!
Salut Martin, t'as bien bossé, je pense que tu pouvais un peu plus détailler les canons, rajouter les petites poulies qui vont bien. Tu feras attention en décollant les petites pièces noires sur les vergues du Royal Louis car le métal est très cassant. A+ Bruno
Hi Bruno, yeah I could have done a bit more on the canon, but I really wasn't in the mood. I'm going to put a bit more effort into other parts of the build. I still have to fill much of the inside, and I'm thinking about making some miniature furniture. And indeed, the little black metal pieces are fragile. I already broke one, unfortunately. But I got a bit lucky, because I appear to only need them on the lowest spar. Onwards and upwards!
