been taking a break from FPV while i was focused on music, This has encouraged me to return as i swore id never build a 3 inch (love my 5 and 6 inch builds ! )
depending on how long you've taken a break for the tech on smaller quads has gotten way better... if you're flying in huge spaces but want to keep it sub250g this is great... but honestly the 3inch build I use is 6s and is pretty damn close to that 5inch feel, just scaled down
Never meet your hero's - what an awesome saying and it is so true!!! By the way, I happen to love my 2 Fiddy! Keep in mind, you don't have to hit a AUW of 250g, mine is about 290g and it flies nicely. And yea, the build and camera cage are innovative but a pain in the rear.
I’m glad I met the 2Fiddy in this case it’s incredible and I love flying it! The AUW ifs important for me to fly in the city… when I’m out in the field like this test flight (mainly so I could fly it back to back with my Siren F5) I can fly it heavier.. but yes I did try it with a larger pack at around 300g that day and it still feels great. It’s definitely not affected by the additional weight like my smaller quads.
Yes please do put the build up. Looking at building a sub 250 as first build. Considering AOs 3.5 as Quadmula still are not supplying but this looks interesting
Yeah they were supposed to be back in stock at the end of June so I’m not sure what’s happening! The AOS 3.5 is quite a heavy frame so would be good to hear what you use to get it sub250g
Are you running it Sub250g? I’m running my Grinderino on 1804s and it’s way too much power at 248g it makes it feel very light and twitchy low in the throttle. If I slap a larger battery on it and get it up at around 350g the 1804s work really well. I recently had the same with my other 3.5inch on 1604s it felt very lightweight until I got to about 300g
@@GarethDix sorry was a mistype on my part was early this morning 😂😂. Running 1804s. It comes in at 249g with a o3 lite . And battery I use is 550mah 6s . I’ve got a grinderino I need to build but haven’t decided what motors to get what do u suggest ? It flys really well mainly use it in supermarket car parks. Saw a. Different review where the guy suggested you change the idle speed tho so did that from the get go
@xxsorrowxx1 the issue with the 2Fiddy 3.5/4inch is the arms have a 12x12 pattern which the first grinderinos had too (why I went with the 1804’s). For the Grinderino I want to try it on something like a 1505 or 1507… it’ll run pretty well on 1604’s, it just won’t have that 5inch feel like I get with my 3inch builds. But yeah I’ll try Darren Allat’s suggestion on the throttle idle I remember seeing that video awhile back. I’d love to see how those 1605 aerolites perform though… the 2004 versions on this quad were really impressive and blew my mind a little
@@GarethDix yeah I see what you mean I do remember having to check and recheck too make sure the motors I ordered would fit . My grinderino has slots now I believe but haven’t built it up yet . Yeah they seem really good but availability isn’t the best can never seem to get them from anywhere and the ones they sell for grinderino seem to be only 4s ones . But will look forward to seeing urs when built
@xxsorrowxx1 I had to use 4s ones on this build and limit them so if I can get the Grinderino ones at 4s that’s better than not having any motors 😂 But let’s see hopefully they’ll start appearing again
lols mate, that's a similar experience I had with it. Tried it on 5" -> short flight time, kinda weird to fly, changed to 4" -> short flight time, kinda weird to fly and props instantly breaking... got a new 3.5" 2fiddy with titanium screws -> finally flew nice and was 249g with an O3. Imo that's the only usable way to fly it. I don't fly it anymore and it's a pain to build. Lessons learned for me... don't believe the hype. There is a reason why there are not many vids 😉 It flies kind of like a LR quad on 5" so it can be fun on open spaces but tricks/freestyle is just weird with it. Except for the 3.5" version wich flies like a 3.5" :D Btw. I've still got 3 new aerolite 4s 1605 3600kv... was never able to get the 4th, was always sold out :D
The flight time I get on this is actually more than I get on my 3.5inch… but I find it easier to fly in tighter areas than my 3.5inch although still prefer 3inch. I’m looking forward to giving the 3.5inch a go, it’s just annoying the mounting pattern won’t fit a 9x9 motor as I have a ton of t-motor 1604’s and I can’t put them on here… so let’s see if the Ummagawd 1605’s come back at some point as I’d like to try those on my Grinderino too
Nice video! Man I loved the 2fiddy frame but the aerolite motors (version 1) really weren't very good and they never honored my purchased or a request for a replacement. I really do miss the sound of the quad in the air as it's quite unique. I've since moved back to the 5" and also reviewed the Tony 5 by Flyfishrc on my channel but nothing comes quite close to the 3.5" setup for sub250g bashing.
That sucks to hear, I heard the v1 versions of the motors had some durability issues as well but so far these have been really great. I just wish the 3.5/4inch arms came with a 9x9 mounting because lightweight 12x12 motors start at around 1804 which is a little too large for Sub250g. Quite a few people have mentioned the tony5 in the comments is it also a Sub250g build?
I’ve just realised I’ve watched loads of your videos but for some reason wasn’t subbed… other people here have mentioned you here on the tony5 frame too!
I’ve built 3 of these and do really like them for long range or exploratory flights. The efficiency of the 5” biblades make the fly up to 10 minutes on a 550mah 6s. But that’s above 250g. Finally unlike a normal 5” or even the 3.5” drones they can be stealthy. 8 blade props make these silent flyers. Clearly not a bando basher, but if you fly over grass and around trees, it’s a great option. What other drones are there in the 4-5” class that fly around 250g? The FPV Cycle tooth fairy 2 frame is really nice, but dated in comparison.
I wish I'd tried this earlier! The bi-blade sound is so weird... it's such a low pitch it makes it feel like it's quieter even if it's not. I've been getting loads of flight time on my 380mah batteries it's been pretty amazing! It's also good for when I'm going to another country where my licence doesn't work for over 250g or where remote ID is needed. I don't think there are many other quads in that class, I've seen some giant toothpick looking things before but they looked like they would break if you breathed on them, someone in the comments mentioned the Tony 5 which looks interesting. Ummagawd have just released 5inch arms for the grinderino... but my 3.5inch version is right on the edge so it might be over 250 as a 5inch.
my quadumla frame is arriving TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They were kind enough to send me the SF5 mini split in advance, because i waited like 3 month for it to restock
@@GarethDix thanks!, I have a question right away. So I build and programmed my drone and it flies but the props make a weird sound (like a bird taking off a tree) is that because of too lose props? Oh yeah and i'm flying digital and have problems with my osd... I cant see nothing from the osd
@Nik_FPV621 yes it sounds like you need to tighten the props down. That noise is usually one of them slipping . Are you flying DJI? If so usually the lack of osd is because the tx/rx on the air unit might be the wrong way around. That said I have an issue with getting the BF osd on one of my O3 quads and still trying to understand why

The thought had crossed my mind 😏😂
I built a 2Fiddy out recently with a Walksnail moonlight system and 1806 motors. Other than a couple of broken arms already, I've been loving it!

I had a 2fiddy and it's still probably one of my favorite quads ever. it's soooo smooth. German 4.5" props give it a bit more toss.
The sound the 2fiddy makes does remind me of my dji mini 4. So much different than a 3 blade prop.
That’s it! It reminds me of my friend’s mini 3 pro which has that weird low hum too! It’s kinda cool though
