This song was back in the early 2000s….. she’s still around , recording songs, touring and her voice is better than ever. Have a look at her singing…. Recorded in Isolation…. She’s from my home town of Melbourne Australia and is the nicest person you could ever meet.

I don't know how this reaction sneaked by me, but sneak by it did. Man those powerhouse vocals - formidable! I love the growl she does, immediately echoed by the sax.
Ironically the audio was off sink initially. We mention it several times 🙂

Vanessa has been singing since she was a little girl in Melbourne. A family friend who owned an events lounge let her sing there often. She is the Aussie female equivalent of John Farnham. She spent time in America singing but now is back in Australia.
Thank you so much for watching yeah. I have been following her for a while now. I know she said she didn't want to be gone from OZ, but like two years. he ended up being six years. But yeah, she is as Aussie is anyone can be.

Those high pitch notes are 'whistle notes' Mariah Carey is one who can sing those notes too. Vanessa lived and performed over seas for many years and only returned about 4 years ago. she has had many many hits here. Love her earthiness and full commitment to her performances. @@8lycan7 I could not agree more as I'm sitting here about to press record on her Janis Joplin at the concert for Max performance. I am blown away at her and that's a fact!!! Why more Aussie's are not claiming her I mean what the hell is wrong I don't understand all the pride in all these great singers and none or not near as much. This woman can sing every bit as good John Farnham, love John and no disrespect. I have to be honest tho
I love you all you know that but I don't understand how her hits there, and her hits cross seas make any difference as far as her being an artist! I seen the interview with this lady and her words about how much she misses Australia and how much she wishes she could have lived there her whole life. So heartfelt and warming that it touched my soul.
But she says like the whole world had to and there are songs written about everyone having to move to Los Angeles to become worldwide famous.
I don't know why that is and don't agree with it. No one in America appreciates la. Except for record labels and movie executives. And she says in the interview she wasn't planning on being gone but two years but it took ten and that's just the way life happens that she maybe could have done it from her home country but it would have been so much hassle so much jet lag so much more money and even harder on her family to have to accommodate for her coming in and out
Mariah can't belt the high notes like Vanessa. Her's are more like a whistle. Vanessa's range is off the charts and she can really belt those high notes. She has great diversity. If you check out Sydney Olympics - Heroes live forever, that last note goes on forever.❤

So many great Vanessa performances to see. Some highlights : Sydney Olympics 2000 opening ceremony at 19 years of age; closing ceremony - "Absolutely Everybody". Also love "Shine" - live at Sydney Opera House Australia Day concert. My absolute favourite of hers is "Perfect" - there's a live performance at the Olivia Newton John Cancer Appeal which is great but the sound recording is a bit low at the beginning. All super impressive and worth checking out.
