Ron is a visionary. People talk down on him and his family but truth be told, he knows wrestling and what can get over. Look at him now, he has a whole new audience thanks to podcasting and he didn't do a cheap press play and record kinda show. He found a legit network and has a presence again in the world of pro wrestling. Love this promo..
Check out Ron's Tennessee Studcast, where he tells the story from his grandfather, Roy Welch on down. It's a great listen and Stud is a master storyteller
I love how they take snippets for Ron's Studcast from this interview! It's a textbook example of a heel promo. It's cocky, brash and antagonizing to the point where you want to see someone to kick this guys ass! It's brilliant.
In 1979, a new pro wrestling magazine hit newsstands and magazine racks across the nation. It was Pro Wrestling Illustrated. When the first issue went to press, Ron Fuller was ranked at #10 in the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA).
Used to love the wrestling program out of Dothan---The Houston County Farm Center is legendary in wresting circles if you are 50 or older and grew up a wrestling fan in the tri-state area of GA/AL/FL/ Growing up in southwest GA, we got to see wrestling out of Dothan, Columbus, Atlanta and Tampa. Those were the days to be a kid wrestling fan.
"I want those people at home there to hear the stud. Six feet 9inches tall, 265 pounds. The stud is here. The Tennessee Stud, you will learn that name, you will remember it" like a boss. Best podcast intro promo ever!! #studcast
Even though he is so unique a Heel presence you can tell that Ron Fuller was profoundly influenced by Dusty Rhodes, Blackjack Mulligan, and Muhammad Ali. Genius Work!B.W.
Ron was on the short list of guys who were being looked at to be the NWA champion. However, I read that because of his knee injuries from basketball was what prevented him from getting the belt.
Always wondered about that. I remember Fuller having a short run in St Louis around 1973, which at that time generally meant he was getting a close examination for a NWA title run. Not long after that, it seemed like he retreated to the Southeastern area and stayed on there.
It's widely assumed owning his own promotion scuttled any hope of Ron being the NWA champion. Which is a shame because he had the size, skill, & mic abilities to carry that belt.
Jeff...every Friday night at the Houston Co Farm Center in Dothan Alabama in the 70s & 80s I was there!!! The Houston Co Farm Center sold out almost every Friday night.
Nobody tells the wrestlers on AEW what to say. Wrestlers today don't put any effort into promos because they're too busy watching wrestling for moves to steal instead of watching wrestling for ways to get more over.
Great wrestler and an even better man. A true southern gentleman and a wonderful storyteller.
I sure miss Ron Fuller. I wished he still rassled. He is the Original Tennessee Stud. Really nice guy.
I know he's the original but I liked Robert playing the part too!
He still wrestles. Saw him last year in Dothan.
He was a great 👍

Yes, Indeed. That Studcast is one of the best about wrestling on the net.
Check out Ron's Tennessee Studcast, where he tells the story from his grandfather, Roy Welch on down. It's a great listen and Stud is a master storyteller
Comrade Trump that's what brought me here. I've been enjoying the hell out of the Studcast so far.
#9 is the funniest one imo
Hell yes. It's great
@@nexspectovos yeah me 2
Southeastern Championship Wrestling was GREAT back in the day. I wish that it was still around. Thanks for the clips and the memories!!!
Excellent
One of the greatest talkers ever... even today!
I'll always remember Ron Fuller in Knoxville and went many times to the matches
The heyday of Southeastern Wrestling In the 70's.
I love how they take snippets for Ron's Studcast from this interview! It's a textbook example of a heel promo. It's cocky, brash and antagonizing to the point where you want to see someone to kick this guys ass! It's brilliant.
That dude cut a five minute promo then left them on a cliff hanger Golden

6' 9", 265lbs.... the Stud has arrived!!! One of the innovators of violence on a retrograde level.
"You right, grandpaw, he is something." Love it.
Many don't know this, but Fuller owned this promotion. So, when he had the studio cleared and called the camera man closer, he was the boss talking.
I'm sure they taped that before or after the live taping
Best wrestling ever. Southeastern Championship
Wrestling.
Amazing promo! Trust me, talking for an entire 5 minutes in a logical, salient manner like Fuller just did in this clip is no easy task!
I miss the days when promos were entertaining.

The Stud is SO damn cool
I was watching this the Saturday it aired. These and the 10 or so years prior was the golden age of wrestling entertainment!!!
This is how you make a debut promo and introduce him to the audience at home.
..saw him whoop harley race live back when dothan ,al was rinkie dink
Probably the best wrestling pod cast for southern wrestling and southern territories.
So that's where the intro to his studcasts originate.
"I want those people at home there to hear the stud. Six feet 9inches tall, 265 pounds. The stud is here. The Tennessee Stud, you will learn that name, you will remember it" like a boss.
Best podcast intro promo ever!! #studcast
So Ron Fuller and Dwayne Johnson went the University of Miami.
Here watching again. It's too good

Christopher Whelan I watched him every Sat night in dothan in the 80s. he was a great worker as a heel or babyface
Man they still could have put Fuller in that mix for the NWA title
Hmmmmmm. That is interesting. Then again, Harley owned a piece of Kansas City and still got his runs.
His height was NOT exaggerated! He was only an inch or two shorter than Andre. And Andre's height was 6' 10' ! Andre'a TRUE height! ...TONY
I think andre was taller than 6 10. He was billed at 7 4, but they say he was really 7 1
One of the greatest wrestlers EVER. Now he has a podcast - the Studcast. Check it out. You won't be disappointed.
This guy knows how to tell a great story i love listening to him on The Jim Cornette experience.
Incredible promo.
He's right in a way. Some of them towns in Northern Alabama are rinky-dink.
The fuller's wrestlings first family
All the young hotshots who think that they can handle the mic welcome to Promo Cutting 101.
Pay attention boys n girls!
40 years later i watch these and want to see their ass kicked
They just read scripts from moron writers
Ron talks more badass than col. Robert parker lol
I grew up with this promotion back in the 80s
Where do I tune in to see this magnetic new superstar??
From "The U" Ron Fuller.
If I had a gun in my hand and Ron Fuller told me to hand over my wallet, I’d do it.
I can't believe that announcer kept trying to interrupt The Tennessee Stud like that.
When I quit my job and HR wants an exit interview.
F HR
Great Promos. Was great on Jim Cornette's show.
Holy crap, it's Col Robert Parker! 🤣🤣🤣
Colonel's big brother, Ron
I knew his brother was a great promo but he was no slouch either.
they just cool as heck
Omg this was my child hood
Every Saturday night at the Fairfield auditorium I was always there!
Jeff...every Friday night at the Houston Co Farm Center in Dothan Alabama in the 70s & 80s I was there!!!
The Houston Co Farm Center sold out almost every Friday night.
Benjamin, I'm a big continental fan. I see u have a lot of footage of this area and was wondering do you make DVDs and sell them?
I highly recommend listing to the stud cast, great
Back in Day when the 📺 wrestlers were bigger than life...
6ft 9in tall, 265 lbs, The Real Tennessee Stud(Sorry Robert lol)
When he first turned heel it was shocking to me-in Florida he was one of the Biggest Babyfaces ever. ...TONY
Wait is he Robert fullers brother or father?
PastLivesCurrentLife Brother.
older brother
If you don't count Wrestlemania 3, Ron beat Vinnie Mac in every area, of wrestling promotion.
Vince hired better announcers
@@saveus228 you mean Patterson and Bruno???
Lol awesome
Anybody know the date of this promo? Also, thanks Armstrong Alley for uploading the many Continental vids.
1980, it was from their debut episode.
2020?
That love gun piece Ron Fuller carries. Big as a arm
Finrod Númenessë Think that is Robert, but I’m no expert
That is the miggest man
Seemed to have low self esteem back then
Poor guy
Probably never laid either
😂😂😂RIGHT!! He's a mans man!
Dude just cut a 5 MINUTE PROMO with zero notes and cue cards (as much as I can tell). Can't WWE and AEW let their guys do it the old way?
Nobody tells the wrestlers on AEW what to say. Wrestlers today don't put any effort into promos because they're too busy watching wrestling for moves to steal instead of watching wrestling for ways to get more over.
They have guaranteed contracts so why put in the effort to get over. Modern wrestling sucks
This dude was money. From a great wrestling family.
