Have you seen his work as one half (the beast half) of the Beauty and the Beast tag team, with Terrence Garvin (Simms)? It makes this look tame by comparison.

It's the way Khan comes blundering out of the lake and runs off that always cracks me up the most.
    That, and Gullen's TORTAL DEVASTAYSHUN.

@DavidFullam Had actually forgotten about the Beast. Obviously this incarnation of Gullen didn't last that long. This should have been mid-late 1987. Khan was in JCP with Paul Jones in 1986 and in AWA with Soldat Ustinov by early 1988. When Beauty and Beast came into Memphis, Beast was still introduced as Mark Gullen and did full interviews. I wonder if Yomamba ever actually made it to TV?

You don't see a vignette like this today except in Lucha Underground (where guys can also have amazing superpowers like Khan's super-speed and pressure point manipulation)
As an aside, looking back today I think Teijo Khan has a great memorable look, but he probably didn't stand out from the pack of Road Warrior wannabes at the time

@wrestling782 Search YT for Midnight Rockers In Memphis - Part 6. From looking at the timeline and title histories this would have been a short run during the holidays of 1987. Not surprised that Gullen didn't last as Shawn Michaels was polishing his mic skills and Jarrett probably figured there was no need to pay an extra person who was just a mouthpiece. The Rockers run in Memphis was never acknowledged on AWA TV and they were always faces there so Gullen wouldn't have fit. in with Gagne.
