I'm 50 yrs old now. I live in Satsuma Alabama...about 20 miles north of Mobile Alabama...but I grew up in the 70s & early 80s in Gordon Alabama...about 20 south of Dothan Alabama. I cannot even begin to count the Friday nights me & my dad spent at the Houston Co Farm Center watching Southeastern Championship/Continental Championship Wrestling. Then wake up Saturday morning & go to the WTVY CH.4 Studios to watch more wrestling at it's best!!! Some of my GREATEST & FONDEST MEMORIES OF ME & MY DAD.
I currently live in Ashford, Al, we did the same thing, go to the studio watch it live and then go home and watch the same matches on TV, then at Houston County Farm Center "Ring the Bell Shorty"
I spent many many Tuesday nights at the Expo Hall in the 80s after we moved here from Dothan Alabama. I spent many many Friday nights at the Houston Co Farm Center in Dothan in the 70s & early 80s before moving here to Saraland Alabama. GREAT, GREAT CHILDHOOD MEMORIES OF ME & MY DAD.
Wow, I cant believe someone still has these videos floating around, I can remember watching these shows as a kid in Mobile,Al. on WKRG 5, on Sat. afternoons, when flair would come to town was a big treat and the whole fued with Fuller and the Armstrongs and Idol..great video and memories, thanks for posting
When I used to visit family Down South for Summer Vacation, I enjoyed watching the Territories. After Saturday Morning cartoons, the first promotion to come on was Bill Watts Mid-South Wrestling. Later on Saturday Night, Memphis Wrestling and Continental Championship Wrestling would come on back to back. I also enjoyed the OLD WWF and AWA promotion as a kid too. Professional Wrestling....It'll never be the same. Real Talk.
I used to love how back in the territory days Ric Flair would travel from territory to territory playing a heel, fueding w/ local favorites & getting involved in the promotions angles.
"Ron Fuller's got a group of boys he calls The Stud's Stable." Even Ric himself had a vague idea at the time just how profound that statement would be in shaping his professional and personal future!😂🐴🖐B.W.
I think Bullet Bob could of been NWA world heavyweight champion for one time. He had good promos. I don't see why not he couldn't be NWA world heavyweight champion.
@koolmoe1971 hey that is so true.....when they would bring in one of the BIGGER national stars, it would sell-out the building, (for the most part)...it was always great wen they would come to town and take on the locals....
@marinegny70 hey man, what about when they would come down to the expo hall!! then if ric flair came in town they'd open the bigger mobile auditorium!!! those were the day's in mobile.

Without even stepping foot in Pensacola, Flair increased the value of the Continental Title in a 90 second promo
incredible!!!!
You're right none of the Big stars would come to the auditorium in Pensacola. They would go to expo Hall in Mobile

The way I make reference to the station is WKRG-TV Mobile/Pensacola’s Channel 5 (CBS)

Ric Flair was at his best as the travelling NWA World champion.
Ric looking like he had a long night
Ric's curling iron was working overtime for this one...
I don't remember the announcer on the rights real name but Bob Armstrong called him cool breeze!
Please post more. I can't get enough of the Naitch. He's so damn entertaining. WOOOO
Bullet Bob owns Flair boy lol

Nope. He didn't have the charisma to be World Champion.
Slick Ric was so stoned is eyes were glassed over. Greatest ever in my book though. Nobody did it like THE NAYTCHA BOY! WOOOOOOOOO
That is from wrestling 380 matches a year and sleeping 3 hours a night for years.
Every time he went up against bullet, he lost, Bullet Bob beat him all over the Houston
County Farm Center in Dothan. However, he always kept the belt
That's how a heel champ did it in every promotion.
Mmm mm, Ric's lookin' good here, WOOOOOOOOOOO!
Ric flair whooooooo

I wrestled Bob Armstrong twice, even at 70 he was as tough as they come.
The promotion hadn't changed their name to Continental yet Flair refers to the title as the Continental title. That's weird
@Sargebri 1984
Whooooooiiii
oh man.
I was there, he whup rick Flair all over that farm center in dothan.
I even pin him at the hall way going into the dressing room.
@marinegny70 hey man, what about when they would come down to the expo hall!! then if ric flair came in town they'd open the bigger mobile auditorium!!! those were the day's in mobile.
Overrated.
I don't like Ric flair, woooooooooooo
