- Taped at the NWA LEGENDS FANFEST (www.nwalegends.com) by the great videographer MARTI FUNK (www.doryfunk.com). This is the first time (according to Mr. Wrestling II) he has appeared on a video interview without the II mask since he adopted the II persona!

i loved when he had a suit on with the mask in interviews he was fabulous
I was a huge Mr. Wrestling 2 fan and for the record I still am. There was nothing like being in the omni in atlanta and hearing thousands of fans chanting 2 2 2 2. It was incredible. I have one of his original mask and I treasured it for years. Now my son has it and he will pass it on to his son. Thank you wrestling 2 for all the great matches and memories that all your fans remember and treasure. We love you and pray Gods blessing on your life.
This was when wrestling was "real". Only a true wrestling fan understands what I mean.
Tappedurassout I completely understand 👍👍 WAY UP!
It's still real to me dammit!!!
Sure miss those days. That’s the way it should always be.
L
That’s when wrestling was wrestling!!! 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿Wrestling nowadays is like watching a bad scripted soap opera!!!! I miss the good olds days!!!!😪😪😪
WOW! Wrestling 2 unmasked! Talk about a legend. Loved watching him growing up. That knee-lift was deadly.
The Greatest masked wrestler in History. It was an Honor being his partner.
Thanks 2,
Pat Rose
Pat Rose Thank you also Pat, for the memories you made. I see you all the time in classic wrestling videos. As a lifelong fan, I appreciate all you contributed to the sport I’ve loved all my life. God bless you, Sir!
MIL MUSCADA
Thank you Mr Rose!!
I do agree with you.
He just passed away. It's great this popped up on my recommended list.
Did they bury him in his mask and diaper looking wrestling trunks??
R.I.P brother!!! I used to go to wrestling cards in Shreveport La in 1979 and 1980 and no. 2 was my favorite. Loved his interviews...
Mr. Wrestling #2 is a class act. He brought years of entertainment into my home. God bless him!
a true legend, wwe generation take notes this is a pro wrestler !!!!!!!!
Mr Wrestling 2 a Legend
Johnny Walker looks good and he has so much class.
My respect and kudos to Johnny Walker, for his overall career, contributions and showing his face.
I have said it 20 times since his passing, & will say it again here. One of the all time best !! He epitomized 70's NWA wrestling....
Was a teen in 70s and miss the Wrestling by Jim Crockett Promotions on 📺 with stars like Wahoo McDaniel. Today's WWE is goat tripe.
@@dougfredricks2017 The Assassins. Ole & Gene Anderson. Dick Slater. Bob Orton Jr. The Midnight Express. Pak Song w/ Playboy Gary Hart. The Wildman from Sudan, Abdullah the Butcher. ALL THE GREATS !!!!!!!
Wrestling II one of the all time greats. He is a stand up human being- very respectful. He wrestled during an era when wrestling was still seen as real and there was an aura of mystery about it. The mask was different on II because most of the masked wrestlers back then were heels. II got alot of respect from the wrestlers in the back and the fans. Finished #2 most popular in 1983 fans rating behind tommy rich.Much respect to Tim Woods (Mr. Wrestling) as well- "The Man Who Saved Wrestling."
wow! another legend i watched as a kid,mr.wrestling 2
Early 80's I got to go to one of the TV tapings in Atlanta, GA. Mr. Wrestling #2, Tommy "Wildfire" Rich, Tony Atlas, Gordon Soley all made appearances that day. Good memories!
As a teenager I was taller than Mr. Wrestling number 2
I got to watch Mr. Wrestling 2 in person almost every Tuesday night in Macon Ga. I don't mind telling anyone..... he was a hero to me
This is something I thought I would NEVER see. Mr. Wrestling II was one of my favorite wrestlers as a kid in the 70's.
WWE PUT THIS MAN IN THE HALL OF FAME!!!!!!!!!
They don't deserve Mr.Wrestling 2
@@bluemarvel4601 WWE turned II into a jobber NOT COOL!
Hall ove fame hell yea
@@dmenace4lifeLower mid carder not jobber but has was 50 or 51 years old in 1985 so he was definitely past his prime
This was when pro wrestling was at it's best. Now with WWE,it stinks.I missed the good old glory days of wrestling.
Was wrestling 2 in a retirement home with the mask on? LOL mr. 2 are you ready to eat your oatmeal? LOL
Favorite wrestler along with Dusty Rhodes as a kid. Will never forget when Toro Tanaka hospitalized Wrestling 2 with the famous Shinin Nomake finishing move. My older sister cried and cried. We were big fans when he wrestled at the Municipal Auditorium for Ann Gunkel promotions. Jack Brisco, Harley Race, The Assassins, Ernie Ladd, Dick Slater, ... The old NWA was the best.
yes sir i remember going there i was 5 years old and my uncles worked the concession stands and cousins brought the cokes and popcorn around to sell to folks lol
i am 50 years old and my mother would take me to bell auditorium in Augusta GA when i was a kid and mr. wrestling no.2 was our favorite we could always count on that knee to get the job done and this is the first time i saw his face rip no.2 and my mom .
Same here. I remember seeing the 60 minute match with Jack Brisco as a kid. Brings back memories the old Bell Auditorium.
leebabychris I grew up going to the bell auditorium and later the civic center as well. Truly the golden age of professional wrestling
i got you all beat i saw him at the old atlanta city auditorium now that was way back in the day with ray candy lol
I was there too
Leebabychris I know your comment is 5 years old now but just wanted to inform you if you still have this account that Mr wrestling 2 is in fact still alive. Noticed you said RIP to him and your mom . Just wanted to clarify that lol
He was always my favorite. Rip mr wrestling 2
rip Mr. Wrestling II
Mr. Wrestler #2, my grandma Burney & i watched you on Saturdays. She loved wrestling & got me hooked. I was 12 yrs old. This time together gave me beautiful memories because she had died a few yrs later. You was my favorite. Thank you for the memories! 💕
Mr. Wrestling II was iconic. I was so ecstatic when I called to him and he looked up and let me take a pic with a cheap Kodak camera. I'm thinking around 1982 at the Myriad Arena here in Oklahoma City. The Mid-South days (before he turned heel on Magnum TA). In fact, it was the same card that had Stagger Lee/JYD there and slammed Kamala. That was the main event and everyone lost their s**t. Wow.
I think his real name was bill or William he died in Griffin part of Atlanta and was a old guy and was a exmarine which is means once a marine always a marine
I was happy that he was finally comfortable enough to be seen without his mask . He still does not like to shoot interview .
I just read on NWA"s Facebook, and Wikipedia, Johnny Walker Mr Wrestling 2 , passed away on June 9, 2020
Salute! RIP
UNTIL MR. WRESTLING 2 IS IN THE HALL OF FAME, there is no hall of fame!
Classy guy and when you look at the other wrestlers out there, too many of them OD'd on drugs, steroids, alcohol or killed themselves. Mr Wrestling 2 was a class act and great role model.
Me and a couple of buddy's followed 2 after some matches in Rome Georgia (1976) from the Memorial Gym. He was in a 1968 Olds Tornado with leopard skin seats. Finally pulled up next to him about 20 miles down the highway...still had mask on. We all gave him the "V" sign. He looked over at us and give us the "thumbs up" sign. Brings back a ton of great memories. RIP sir and great respect.
Great interview. He could never truly escape the kayfabe mentality. Bless you Mr. Wrestling 2.
Rip Johnny Walker. One of the greatest.
The Godfather of all masked wrestler's
Mr. Wrestling#2 is the foundation of Wrestling. Thank You Johnny Walker.
thank you sir,,,,, you are one of the best ever
This guy was great even though he wasn't big, even though he had a mask he was popular, and his signature move was cool because it was different, the running knee to the head was unique and I tuned into Georgia Championship Wrestling week after week just so I could see this guy. Miss him in the ring, glad he's okay today.
wow after all of these years from the old municipal auditorium here in columbus ga i have finally seen THE FACE!
one of my favorites rip sir
Mr. Wrestling 2 was a hell of a wrestler and pure gold on the promos .
You hear the voice and you know its him. Thanks for the memories Johnny.
I remember watching Wrestling 1 and 2 battle the Assassins many times in bloody feuds and later 2 would have a long feud with the Masked Superstar here in Georgia...1 and 2 always made me think of the Lone Ranger....good guys with masks battling evil...
my first hero. A true legend.
When I first started watching G.C.W. he was my absolute fav. it's kind of weird seen him now he was tough back in the day.
Johnny Walker is such a beautiful man! Great Human Being as well!
Him unmasking for this interview completes the circle of his career and enhances it, makes it even greater. Well done mr wrestling 2!
Next to JYD, Mr. Wrestling II was my favorite!!
this is awesome i loved him
Omg. I loved him. The bright white mask. The knee lift
this guy is my all time favorite i remember going to the atlanta auditorium and watching him when i was 5 years old that was 50 years ago man he was something to watch
MR. WRESTLING II YOU ARE THE MAN!
A true legend, loved his feud with Magnum TA. Best masked wrestler.

wrestling 2 vs assassin 1, best feud EVER!!!!!!!!!!!
One of my all time favs. Wow !
Great Entertainer, always put on a good show with his running knee.
God bless you too SIR.
Wrestling will NEVER be as great as it was during this man's time. One of my absolute favorites. This guy could work a match like no other. The wrestling coming out of Georgia and Tennessee during this era was the best of all time. Man, how I miss it. Saturday could never come fast enough for me in those days. I would sit ALL DAY and watch regional wrestling programs one right after another. How I loved it.
I REMEMNBER me and my dad watching him on georgia championship wrestling loved and cherrished every minute of it i have a great respect for him!!!! Mr wrestling 2 forever !!!!!!! thanks for being part of my life
He has always been my favorite.
There was only one Mr. Wrestling 2. This is him. And if you ever watched him back in the day you could tell this was him. I remember him like it was yesterday. No sir, there were not 3 or 4 or any more number 2's. Only this one.
My Daddy Cool actually there was two
This is the voice I remember. I remember a Wrestling l who'd bounce in and out from time to time but this guy was the staple. Many believed over the years his identity was Don Green, but I had my doubts, or either Johnny wrestled under that name too. Anyhow, this was a pleasure to relive the good ol days.
Apter this is the best interview you've ever done. Great job!
He patted me on my head when I was 5 yrs old and I still remember that.
Hello from Florida...Mr.Wrestling 2 was Awesome...!!! I was a fan Forever...!!! (RIP) Mr.Johnny Walker the Grappler & Mr.Wrestling 2 you were the BEST...!!!
i cant believe mr. w2 is not in the hof especaiily when i think of some who is
I used to help put the ring together , back in the day , when they came to our gymnasium.
I would talk with all the wrestlers in the dressing room ... I do me all and i was there all night long .
My favorite was talking to Black Atlas , he started out wearing a mask also but later became Tony Atlas.
The master of knee lift Mr. Wrestling 2
i watched this because 2 was the man back in the day !!
This interview is just so wholesome
Was a pleasure to see him wrestle many times was always great 2 2 2
What a great interview. Good Job Bill!
Mr . Wrestling#2 u was my hero brother love u then love u now God bless and thank u for all the child memories thank u thank u God bless
Grew up in Atlanta in 60's,70's, 80's.II was my HERO! A true legend and always an honorable man. You can still see his old persona when he leans toward the camera, raises his voice and declaims about the sorry state of pro wrestling today: "We were athletes, some of these guys couldn't pick my toenails!"
One of the best, the reason I started following pro wrestling
Met him in Tallahassee FL my mother's favorite. Great person. Best wrestler ever.
Great interview.
I love Mr Johnny Walker, you are ONE of the Best!
My favorite wrestler ever.
Let's go watch some Mr. Wrestling 2 videos. ❤
Loved this guy. Always rooted for I and II against the Assassins.
This is great...as a kid when we play-wrestled, my finisher was always the high knee lift!!!
Mad respect to this legend!
My favorite growing up,I became a wrestler became of his inspiration. I got to meet him and get a picture with him at CAC #50
When you actually loved wrestling loved watching him
My all-time favorite wrestler.
Great interview
Mr Wrestling II and his scientific method of wrestling was one of my all time favorites.
Masked Superstar was also in Georgia Championship Wrestling he also feuded with Mr. Wrestling 2 , Jack Brisco, Dusty Rhodes, Don Moroco in 1981 it was around 1983 or 1984 superstar was in the WWF he feuded with Ivan Putski, Sgt. Slaughter ,Tito Santana .
We miss him so much .
The two top comments are awsome testimonials. I just watched wwwf( back in the day!) but I always liked II from the magazines.
I remember Johnny Walker back in 1970 in Memphis teaming up with Jackie Fargo, Tojo Yamamoto and Jerry Jarrett as they worked teams like The Interns W/Dr Ken Ken Ramey, The Spoilers W/Saul Weingeroff. I also remember when Johnny Walker held the U S Jr Heavyweight and the matches he worked with Don Green
My Man Mr Wrestling II. Awseome
One class man , in and out of the ring . I got to meet him several times very nice and courteous , nothing uppity about him .
He had the grand father quality. U always rooted for him
Mr Walker was my favorite wrestler. Rest in peace.
One of my hero's as a child.
As over in Georgia as anyone at any time. Pretty amazing when you consider here was a masked babyface who did not do the typical "polite" 'face interviews. Hats off to Mr. Walker.
I miss this too.
RIP Mr. Walker
This is like an epilogue to the great career of the man simply known by a number:
2
The guy who made Magnum TA big in Mid South
Love ya, II ....get well soon!
