  • Welcome again to Byrne Bizzo,
    This is the easiest way to throw a cast net step by step. I watched lots of other videos trying to learn which are not very clear and hard to follow. So here is a perfect video to learn off of.

    This video helped me to actually throw the net perfectly the first 2 times I tried after watching the video. I would have thrown it more than that but 2 throws were all it took to fill the livewell on the boat. I have looked at and tried several other techniques and this technique really works and it the easiest as well. Thank you for posting this approach.

    Thanks for the best video. I can cast net now. I have got bait fish and two Long nose gar and it's only my second day of throwing it. Hats off for a video that makes sense to me.

    This video helped me out big time!
    Thanks for posting, I must have watched it ten or so times while I was standing in the water today.
    I had a real hard time not trying to use my left hand to throw as well, but the left really doesn't do much, just holds it back a little to get the spin on.
    Thanks!

    Thanks for this video! I caught (yep, battled it for 10 mins at my local pontoon!) a short cast net a few months ago and I had never used one before. All the other clips were based on long nets and I just couldn't throw it! I watched yours a dozen times and gave it a go, watched it some more and got the hang of it! I gave it a go in the field today (Maroochy River, Qld) & managed to catch a few Mullet & Herring. I turned the live Herring into a couple of Bream! Great fun (and a good work out!) when you get the hang of it! I'll be using it all the time for live bait now!

    Good instructional. I like how you open up the net before the cast. There is no view of the right arm, the casting arm, during the cast. It sure would help. The cast itself is important.

    Thanks for the video. Been practicing with some great and some not so great throws. I have to ask you one question. Do I throw the left hand also or let it come out on it’s own?

    • @byrnebizzo4497

    My five foot net behaves just like yours. Perfect circle but nowhere near ten foot diameter and the horn and about eighteen inches of net sticks up into the air. Just like yours. Looks like a big warlock hat lying on the ground. Never pancakes like other nets. I've been told to soak it in fabric softner but I've also been told that doesn't work...that in two weeks or so it's back to where it was before the soak. Have you tried the soak?

    • @byrnebizzo4497
      @byrnebizzo4497  4 роки тому

      scarz1951 interesting, no I haven’t. But might give it a go

    • @scarz1951
      @scarz1951 4 роки тому

      @@byrnebizzo4497 I'm going to have a go at it. What can it hurt? Even if it has to be repeated now and then that would probably make it last longer. Cup full of softener in a gallon of water. Put leads on top of net to hold net down in liquid. Soak 24 hours. Rinse well. Hang to dry and be sure leads touch ground or the net will stretch and dry stiff.
