I just want to create this post in hopes it may help others, particularly females with androgenetic alopecia. I was diagnosed with it January of 2022, and purchased the "The Original LaserCap" at the higher end, with 224 laser diodes; the LaserCap HD. Mind you this cap cost me thousands. I used it religiously 3x a week at the same time at every session. I want to tell you that after a year of using it, I noticed NO change, and continue to have shedding. Therefore, no, it does not always work (even expensive ones) for females, or anyone in general, and purchasing this may or may not give you the results you hoped for. Thank you for listening!
Was is i restore or another brand, i just bought i restore hopping for some results
Was is fda cleared/approved/tested?
I see some cheaper options for a few hundred $$ and then I see caps that go up to $1000 and over
Ir works in combination with other modalities. I had fantastic success with LLLT, oral minoxidil and spironolactone, along with PRP therapy. I worked like a miracle.
Some of the more expensive options like red light therapy and PRP are the only things I havent tried. I've done different brands of topical minoxidil, topical custom compound of minoxidil/finasteride, ketoconazole shampoo, oral finasteride, oral dutasteride and spironolactone. The dutasteride and spironolactone has helped slow down shedding but I have not responded to topical minoxidil and the oral minoxidil made me grow a 5'o clock shadow but didn't show change on my head. My dermatologist said theres really not much more to do... I got a second opinion and they said the same. Maybe red light therapy or PRP might help some but I will never get to a full head of hair. Basically the goal now is to try and prevent further loss, not to reverse. My androgenic alopecia can no longer be concealed with root sprays or hair fiber. I've had to resort to wigs.
On the positive side wigs have cut down my time getting ready lol. 5 min to throw on and go.
So incredibly helpful! And complete! Science and Dr Jenny win. Much appreciated. You rock.
Your video was so precise and compassionate ❤
Thank you so much for the informative video. I was suffering from hair loss due to menopause and after using for three months I’m already seeing great results.
Like the way she explained it 🫡
Thank you so much for speaking on scarring Alopecia. So many other causes for it that I've not ever heard. Not much has been done for me in the area in which I live but I ordered the laser cap. If it does nothing for the supposedly scarred area then hopefully it will halt any other further hair loss
I just recently asked my dermatologist about the laser hats and he said not to waste my money. I was so disappointed to hear this, but I appreciate his medical opinion.
I don't think they try hard enough to find a solution, I didn't even have blood work. I'm still searching for the right dermatologist what time is of the essence and that hasn't helped very much
Yes. Listen to your doctor. I Paid $1000.00 for my Irestore and use it every other day. It's been 5 months and I see no improvement. Will continue to use it as it cost so darn much... but, I am very sad...
@@luvladydi I think there is a 1 year guarantee so you can return it.
I have severe hair loss . Hope this will help .
I am 73 and experienced hair thinning basically all over but more noticible at the sides of my head. Purchased an IRestore helmet and use it religiously every other day. It has been 5 months now have not noticed any inprovement. So disappointing but will continue to use forever. Sigh.
Kaminowa is a gel product from Japan. I’ve gotten better results compared to minoxidil and quicker results
Hey, thanks for the Video! Is it possible to take Minoxidil pills?
Hi! Do you recommend LLLT for alopecia areata?
Hello, do hair absorb and block the light from reaching the scalp. I'm not bald but have thinning spots
Hi , how often should I use it . For best results
What supplements would you suggest if I planning for a pregnancy in the next year? I know minoxidil cannot be used during conception/pregnancy.
If I use minoxidile with low laser hair therapy should it be used before or after ?
Can you use this while using topical Minoxidil and if so, do you need to wait a period of time between the two? Thank You
Stay away, it's scam. Nothing will happen.
I want to try iRestore for my female pattern hair loss. I’m hesitant because I have SLE and am not sure if the LED lights and lasers will cause my Lupus to flare up. I know I can’t have laser hair removal and I’m sensitive to the sun.
I would really appreciate your opinion. Thanks
What you need to find out is if the bulbs/diodes give off any amount of “UV light.” People with lupus are very sensitive to any amount of UV.
Is it possible to remove the three pads if the user's head is much larger than average? Thanks in advance.
Yes, it comes with small and medium and large pads
Which laxer do you highly recommend
Great information. Thank You. Regarding LLLT, another company claims 680nm is the best wavelength to regrow hair. What is your response to that? Can you explain the difference between 680nm vs 650nm and its effect on hair growth? TIA
what do you think of the LLLT combs if you can't afford the caps?
Does it work for chronic telegenic effluvium maybe from a medication?
I just bought myself the irestore pro
What I know from these is for them to be effective if it’s every 2nd day for 25 min your hair must be clean & dry
So only put any serum on scalp after treatment
Since the laser cannot penetrate the serum to give you the max result
Correct me if I’m wrong
what about Hydrafacial keravive? can you comment on this? great video!
I think it’s a nice to do but has not proven to help with hair regrowth, but if it helps to keep your scalp healthy, that in itself is important for maintaining environment for hair growth
@@dr.jennyliu thank you!!
Can this work for people with seborrheic dermatitis?
Yes but should definitely have your seb derm treated to maximize hair growth
Post natal shedding is normal and almost always corrects itself automatically.
What kind of DHT blockers would you recommend please?
Finasteride, dutasteride or spironolactone
@@dr.jennyliu saw palmetto?
@@dr.jennyliu I am on YASMIN pill, would that help?
@@dr.jennyliu , does saw palmetto lower estrogen levels? I see that saw palmetto is in many hair vitamins like Nutrafol, but I’ve also heard that it can lower estrogen levels, which seems bad for bone density in women.
@@dr.jennyliu, do any topical serums work to reduce DHT?
Can I use it anyway even I currently don’t have problem with hair loss. Just want to use it to prevent future hair loss.
Can I use it anyway to maintain my current hair or it will ruin my hair follicle? Thanks
You can use it for maintenance or prevention
Why the monoxidil bottle listed not for women?
Only because rogaine has a fda patent for men. But they also have the exact same formulation for women and you don’t see this morning on any other MINOXIDIL., so it’s only unique to rogaine
@@dr.jennyliu , what do you think of the Irestore serum that contains redensyl? Thank you!
I am usually trust your recommendation but this product is a scam, not worth the money. doesn't work, the customer service is the worst. the 12 month warranty is a lie they don't refund the money.
Are u spostto we're the Lazer helmet even day
???
Do you mean:
"Are you supposed to wear the lazer helmet every day?
Well done Doc. I had the telegene efflvium from my i.c.u. life support experience. It was quite upsetting but resolved completely. What if a sweet friend is having widening of her part. What is best tactic to let her know there is help ? It can be a very touchy subject.I don't want to make her feel uncomfortable. He!p !
She probably already knows that she has widening of her part but is hoping no one else has noticed and is probably doing her research but doesn't necessarily want to discuss it with anyone. If she goes to a beauty salon, and you really think she doesn't know, perhaps her stylist has mentioned it. If you are really close to each other and you think she really doesn't know, just say something like oh wow did you injure yourself with a styling tool or something? Just bring it to her attention and then Google it or search UA-cam as though you're researching for the first time as well.
