- Fran starts dating Tony. Fran thinks he's great until she realizes what he does for a living!
From Season 3 Episode 13 ‘An Offer She Can't Refuse’. Grace and her new friend Frankie play violin together, and when Fran meets Frankie's handsome, rich father, Tony Tattori, the two are mutually attracted and begin dating. However, Fran eventually realizes that Tony is a mobster, and realizes that she must break-up with him-but worries that if she does, she'll be "rubbed out".

Selfies have been cool since the days of film cameras - they're just a lot easier now. You used to have to take an educated guess at whether everyone was in frame, visible and in focus, take a few shots and then wait until the roll was finished and developed to see if any worked out. The cool factor lay in whether or not you actually succeeded in taking a decent pic.

Vanity used to be something that everyone had, to varying degrees, but it was kept under wraps. Now the horse has bolted, and disappeared over the horizon, never to be seen again. Any odor of negativity surrounding vanity has pretty much vanished among the millennial crowd. Nowadays if you're *not* vain, you'll often be thought of as insecure.
Somewhere along the way humility became insecurity and arrogance became "confidence." And this is why hot women now want some tradie dickhead for a boyfriend instead of an artist. In the '60s women were pining for some romantic dude who played in a band. They didn't care if he was pretty broke - they knew he'd know how to make love to a woman. Now they want muscles, tattoos, and a six figure income. Muscles and tattoos have become the 21st century of talent and personality.
Women now stand revealed as being every bit as shallow and superficial as men, in the dating game.

@@maulok8441 Not really during the first season. Sure, she didn't know the inner workings of the wealthy elite all the time, but she definitely had street smarts. They kinda made her wackier and dumber after season 1...
Martin van Wetten They balanced her imo. All the characters have smart and dumb moments otherwise it came predictable. Niles always getting the better of CC, Maxwell always getting Angry at Frans ideas and then it comes full circle that everything worked out etc. The second half of Season 2 was when you really notice the shift and it allowed the episodes to be less predictable. They kept Fran’s “streetsmarts” but at the same time, they allowed her to be more naive and out of depth at times to challenge her. Season 1 Fran was definitely more switched on, but at the same time, that meant outside of the immediate household, there was nothing to laugh about other than the mix in class. Once that joke dies, the show had to innovate.

Edit: I didn’t know about the sexual assault stuff, but this hit me hard, specially today. I get ptsd from my own experiences and today I have only been snacking but I have not had food. I’ve had a tostada with hummus and candy through the day, it just hit me hard. I build up the courage to ask a friend to go get dinner with me because it’s gonna be the only way I eat today. I also finally after two days got enough strength to clean my cats litter box. I feel so bad for her, but what I said still stands, she was beautiful, she is now, and she will always be. Anyone that has had an inside y with assault and can build up strength to live another day and function is so strong and brave.
