Her style was very 90s meets 60s, it was a lot of miniskirts or mod dresses under blazers layered over turtlenecks with tights and heels or go go boots. She also had the traditional 90s style with blouses tucked into high waisted jeans.
I honestly can't decide between her and Blair Waldorf. I'm trying to find a common ground between both their styles and kinda emulate it but it seems their styles have nothing to do with each other? Do you have any ideas because you seem to know a lot about fashion
ederline rosenberg while their styles were pretty different, you have to look at the things they had in common. Blair Waldorf was known for being preppy so things like headbands, polo shirts knee socks, etc, while Frans style was more dressy casual but she did wear things like headbands and mini skirts. One thing you could do is layering, common with preppy style like a turtleneck over a blazer or a lightweight button up under a sweater. For bottoms you could do a dark pair of high waisted jeans or skirt with tights and oxfords or something more like Cher from Clueless which encapsulated both Frans and Blair’s styles with the blazers and plaid.
She wears designer clothes like Moschino, Todd Oldham, Chanel and others throughout the show. All her skirt suits and dresses were very expensive, which is funny because she would not have been able to afford them. They made a joke about it in one of the episodes.
@@damaracarpenter8316 Oh sorry, you meant the joke, I'll try and find it although all I remember is that they were watching a show on tv and Fran commented that she could never dress like the character on tv with the salary she is getting.
I was thinking the same thing. If Fran Fine had been young today she would definitely have been an influencer. She might not have needed to be a nanny and never met her love! Hehe
I think they actually put C.C. in those 80s shoulder padded power suits on purpose, so that she would appear old fashioned next to Fran, since the 80s were only a few years ago back then. While today an 80s power suit may be "retro glam", it was just plainly old fashioned in the early-mid 90s.😄
In Season 3, Episode 14, 'Fashion Show', we discover how Fran can "afford" to wear $1000 outfits on a nanny's salary. It's b/c a relative of hers is a top designer for a NYC fashion house, and a costume supplier to Broadway. He hands-down everything he can to her, such that many of her wardrobe items have been previously worn by someone famous.
You forgot her fashions as a married woman, after she married Mr Sheffield and also when she was pregnant. She looked gorgeous. Sophisticated, wealthy, elegant and stylish.
As a child I watched the reruns and loved her clothes, ofc even I can't afford them now, they were 99% custom made of course. I'd still wear the same things today. Ofc if she had a real life budget, she'd be dressing like Sylvia not like herself. Sidenote: Cc's clothes were also beautiful
Her body is insane! Also at the time I remember that what was considered the "perfect body" was either the Pamela Anderson/Baywatch type (huge, exaggerated boobs and slim hips), or the Kate Moss/heroin chic (boyish and dangerously skinny), and Fran was neither since her hips would've even been referred to as "big" by those day's standards, which is crazy.
I just started watching this show for the first time. I always avoided it and wasn’t into it I never took the time to try it. AND I LOVE IT!!!!! It’s an awesome show. It’s like a romance comic.
I loved about 90% of her clothes and thought they were so fashion forward. Some more little too low cut and some are a little too short, and occasionally there was some thing that was just loud. But most of them are gorgeous and a celebration of color. And I thought they fit her vibrant personality perfectly!
I bought the same exact top she wore in season 4 episode 9 it's a vintage 90's guess velour geometric top and i love it! I got it for such a good deal! I hope to style it just like she did
It's funny how her style is supposed to be considered "tacky" on the show. When she was actually the most stylish one.
But some were
It's kinda funny how someone who looks as good as her can wear such outrageous stuff and it usually looks really cute or extremely fashion forward.
I Luv Fran's style, but designer can be tacky too.
She he had a "I love Lucy" vibe
She was dressed by Moschino
she has to be the most fashionable character in all of tv history.
Period
Definitely
Well there was Lucy Ricardo from I Love Lucy!
I have to disagree with you. You’re forgetting ALEXIS CARRINGTON from Dynasty 1981. She was the authentic FASHION ICON of tv.
@G shut up.

ederline rosenberg seriously. I didn’t like Blair style. Nanny has the best style to me.

The chemistry of this cast was incredible.
They are still like a big family after all this year. Rip 🪦 Grandma
Fran is basically a 90's supermodel!
She has style, she has flair!!😍

That piano dress is now iconic today.
Babcocks style is really underrated. Lots of high fashion power suits. Loved every fit we saw here
Fabulous jackets in some unexpected colors with creative collars and necklines, all from high end New York stores and boutiques.
The styling of this show was impeccable! Every character was on point. I believe the costume design even won an Emmy, which ofc was well-deserved.

One of the most iconic and interesting character wardrobes in tv history

“Fran Fine’s Fashion Compilation”. Do you mean the entire series?
Everything she wears is iconic! 😭😍
The main reason most of these worked is because she has a knockout body and together with that smile she shines from within 🌞
She was fighting cancer that’s why she was so skinny
Fran definitely stands out from everyone. While everyone looks plain and boring, she just fashionable and whimsical 😊💕
I'm very jealous of her. She makes everything look soooo good !
She made the eggplant a thing before the emoji came along........

Actually most of the clothes aren’t custom made. You can find them here and there. But be ready to pay some
A lot of it wasn’t custom made at all it was just something she found at a store and then they had a Taylor fix them
The piano skirt and the ying-yang t-shirt, iconic.
It’s a piano dress actually
Her outfits were the perfect mix of uber chic and over the top
She is simply iconic.
I don't have the balls to wear a single one of those outfits... Full respect!
Aaah She's a breath of fresh air. I love her so much 😭💗 and this show ❤️😍
Fran Fine is so fashionable in every show. That the reason I love The Nanny
