Dear Ali, That's the beauty about these recipes. Not only they are so simple and easy to make , they will at the same time keep the childhood memories alive. Regards Anita.
lovely, my mother in-law was use to make the dow with coconot milk en would use some jira in the dow en when making the sugar sirup ( paag )just before it is ready to mix put some sugard milk in 1 spoon is enough than mix the lakadi sticks in and make it dry as you did
Dear Kween, When the syrup dries up, it will always go white in colour. May be what you can do is before you make the dough , boil some sugar and water together until the sugar dissolves. Cool it down completely before making the dough. Just like making the sweet pooris. You just have to add sugar according to your taste. Regards Anita.

If I dont want the powder sugar look, should u just remove straight after coating with the syrup?
Dear Kween, When the syrup dries up, it will always go white in colour. May be what you can do is before you make the dough , boil some sugar and water together until the sugar dissolves. Cool it down completely before making the dough. Just like making the sweet pooris. You just have to add sugar according to your taste. Regards Anita.
how much quantity of oil
Dear Saboorah, For frying you will need roughly about 2 to 3 cups. You just have to adjust the amount of oil you need . Regards Anita.
I noticed that you did not use baking powder. In that mixture it wasn't needed right.good recipient though.
Dear Jean, You do not need baking powder in this recipe. Baking powder will make the Lakadi methai soft and that's not what we want. Regards Anita.
