Here from my first playthrough. B.J. was so focused on dead kids, I think the only right decision would be to save Wyatt. He's got his whole life ahead of him, he could do way more for the war effort down the road. I genuinely think that William would choose Wyatt to live too, cuz he doesn't want to see another dead young face. Even Fergus would rather you pick Wyatt.
I chose Fergus to be saved because above all else Fergus had proved he knew how to unalive the enemy with experience, every step of the way to deathshead's compound Fergus is in your ear saying what's required, only once does Wyatt do something and that's "Here doggie!" and tosses a grenade, granted that saves your life but it was a one off, any resistance needs experience to train the next generation, Wyatt was cowering behind the pilots chair at the beginning and we had to slap him. I thoroughly enjoyed Fergus in the next game as well, his arguments with Grace are phenominal.
Yeah he is right. Wyatt was young (thats why I picked him) and also he died gladly like he said. "İts okay blazkowitch this is a war and people die in war" really touching scene

Cabanilla Always thought Fergus was funnier, darker and more interesting. Him and BJ got back further as well. Plus it's interesting to have a Scottish character in a market saturated by characters from America
Owen Jones well shit gets darker with Wyatt becoming a drug addict. Fergus is definitely far more fun, but how he acts is set in stone. That and seeing how strangely BJ and Wyatt get poetic at times is very fun. In the new collosus shit gets pretty damned serious. I always saw Fergus as the guy to keep things light hearted... Wyatt has funnier moments in the new collosus as well but it gets fucking dark in where it leads to.
Overall, I prefer Wyatt's timeline. I just wish Tekla was in it. She's a great foil for BJ's character. J is just.... Idk....... Tekla's death holds more thematic weight as it emphasizes the inevitability of fate that she talked about before. It makes the final mission feel more bleak as you approach the enormous compound wondering if you'll make it out, or if fate has already decided your demise. And then with the ending where BJ sacrifices himself... Idk it just seems to fit more. J's story is... Patriotism? Hope? I like the theme of speaking up for what your believe in but I just don't feel it was executed very well. The LSD scene was fun but I'm not sure what to take from it. His character just feels so absent, and his death scene felt kinda empty to me. I wanted to care, but I just never felt invested in his character. Whereas Tekla is the antithesis of the story's theme about hope and fighting against all odds. It feels more balanced like we're actually exploring some meaningful ideas. So yeah, I think Wyatt is better than Fergus, but Tekla is better than J. People need to stop dismissing Tekla as an "annoying bitch." She feels like more of a real person than dumbass stoner J.
i liked both. tekla a bit more tho. the part where bj teaches her how to shoot a gun was really nice, and she died like a badass while j just plays the guitar for a bit and gets lit up
Tbh I like J's interaction with BJ. J basically holds up a mirror by saying how he felt about people like BJ and relating them to the Nazis. When BJ retaliates he shows how he's not like the others. To him good people are good people, regardless of where they came from. J doesn't apologize, but he does seem to accept BJ for who he is given the situation they found themselves in. As for the ending, while Tekla's death foreshadows BJ's sacrifice at the end, I think J's death foreshadows the whole next game, The New Colossus. J doesn't just play guitar loudly for the sake of it, he plays The Star Spangled Banner for all of Berlin to hear, like a warning that the war isn't over yet and America will soon strike back. Thats how I felt at least.
Bruh I haven't seen anybody who talks like Tekla IRL. Tekla is annoying as shit and J is a better character. I hate how condescending she is. She goes on and on about how free will isn't real and how everything is determined by fate, but the fact that there are two different timelines in this game and the fact that B.J. Blaskowitz has the free will to choose between saving Fergus or Wyatt basically disproves her entire point. You also have to wonder - in Tekla's death scene where she convinces herself that this is her time to die - is her death really the result of inevitable fate or is her death the result of her convincing herself that her time is up? When J brought up how Blaskowitz was fighting for a country that was no less flawed and discriminatory as the Nazis (tho to an obviously lesser extent) and how J viewed America as the Nazis with how they mistreated black people, that was a much more compelling plot point IMO.

J though, he's great, only because he is based on Jimi Hendrix and you can see how for sure. But then, no matter what, they both die anyway. Oh and, one big gameplay difference I noticed is that, with Fergus, the game is arguably longer because you can't unlock doors and get past shortcuts faster. You can easily notice this in Chapter 3, with Wyatt you just simply unlock the door to the right to get that gate switch, with Fergus you have to flap about at the rooftops. Also, during the prison escape, Wyatt takes the elevator while Fergus takes the scenic route. Gameplay-wise, I like Fergus' much more since I want to play this game for the killing, not the "run away be stealthy".
keeping wyatt alive is better fergus even tells you that its fine while wyatt begs sadly for help fergus prefers wyatt alive because like BJ says "a great team like father and son"
If I ever play these games, I'd rather save Fergus, unlike Wyatt, he has tons of experience and know how to fight in a battlefield, while Wyatt on the other hand.......gets high............
Tbf he was basically a green as grass private recruit when we meet him his character growth between when we first meet him and when he basically goes presidential on live TV after we kill Engel is impressive if I was told at the beginning of new order that Wyatt would give a speech to rally America I'd laugh it off
I know this is old but eh, it’s a free country so I’ll leave a comment. If this was the only game with Wyatt and Fergus, I’d pick Wyatt. However because of the second game, Fergus. In those situations (realistically speaking) you need people focused and Wyatt is the most annoying, worthless, and absolutely unfocused person out of everyone in the entire story if you pick his timeline. I picked Fergus first time playing because of the experience he had and I figured, “why not pick how I would if I were in so and so’s shoes?” Y’know all that jibber jabber. In the New Order Wyatt is focused, he’s helping, he’s not annoying and when he is it’s not every time he speaks, overall he’s cool. He’s a pretty good pick, but cut to the next game and honestly I’d rather just play Duke Nukem or Doom, or anything else where every cutscene isn’t the worst cutscene in the game because of one character just butting in and being annoying. Thankfully Fergus exists and can replace him Regardless, remember it’s just a game and this is just my opinion so don’t kill me for it. However you are more than welcome to judge, I hope whoever reads something this new on an old video has a good day, take it easy.

Interesting
I still like Jimi Hendrix playing Star Spangled Banner in front of Nazis better
Soo if you choose fergus you cant get marksman rifle early its on that crane bi the say in chapter 3
its in the next building over
did i make the wrong choice when i chose fergus? he completely shames you
keeping wyatt alive is better fergus even tells you that its fine while wyatt begs sadly for help fergus prefers wyatt alive because like BJ says "a great team like father and son"

15:43 no butt -_-
😢
Thank god I chose Wyatt's timeline, I wouldn't be able to stand Tekla for even 2 seconds
Tekla a.k.a. the annoying internet atheist.
Antimanele104 tekla is actually the smartest version of Tesla
U hv motion blur on?
Never
If I ever play these games, I'd rather save Fergus, unlike Wyatt, he has tons of experience and know how to fight in a battlefield, while Wyatt on the other hand.......gets high............
Tbf he was basically a green as grass private recruit when we meet him his character growth between when we first meet him and when he basically goes presidential on live TV after we kill Engel is impressive if I was told at the beginning of new order that Wyatt would give a speech to rally America I'd laugh it off
@@wintertrooper7918 again, i prefer going with Fergus over Wyatt
@@Steventhe2nd that is your prerogative
Thankfully Fergus exists and can replace him
Regardless, remember it’s just a game and this is just my opinion so don’t kill me for it. However you are more than welcome to judge, I hope whoever reads something this new on an old video has a good day, take it easy.
Story is pretty much the same
Bioshock easter egg at 10:39
