    I've been asked this a lot, so I'll just pin an answer here...
    "Will you be covering FFVII Remake like you did with FFXV?"
    Yes. Maybe not as extensively, it remains to be seen, but I will be making at least some content for this game. That said, don't expect a video tomorrow, I have a couple of major school deadlines next week, so I'll have to take care of those first. I also need the time to actually properly work out how this game works mechanically, so far I've really just been having fun with it.
    Edit: And while I'm at it, you can lend me a hand here. Wtf is the point of Disorder? I get that it swaps your stance and all but it deals a tiny fraction of the damage Braver so it doesn't seem to be worth it ever. Am I missing something here?

    • @PunkSora89
      @PunkSora89 4 роки тому +1

      Haven't faced Bahamut yet so I'll watch It after I've done It myself. But it's great to see content for FFVII-R from you!
      I think the whole point in disorder is really just for changing stance on the fly while keeping up the offensive.

      I like it a lot! The combat has a fun flow to it and most bosses are well designed. Chip damage and unavoidable attacks irk me, as well as the fact that most enemies have hyperarmor while you have almost none, but they aren't dealbreakers. Overall, I've been having a blast.

    Is it worth equipping Elemental materia for enemies that don't have an elemental weakenss (do they even build a bit more stagger for those)?

    • @asetoniffxv22
      @asetoniffxv22  4 роки тому +2

      I haven't tested it, but the way it's worded leads me to believe it's just X% extra damage so I assumed it helped. I know in the original it just changes damage type but in Remake it supposedly adds additional elemental damage.

  • @mpfree325
    @mpfree325 4 роки тому

    So what benefits have you found for using the Parry Materia? From what I’ve seen the damage it does on dodge is inconsequential and it doesn’t give you I-frames or anything, and even when you do dodge you still take about as much damage as a normal block.
    I feel like it’s good on Tifa since it makes her dodge ridiculously fast and actually lowers her hitbox but it seems pretty meh on everyone else.
    Also, are you aware if the effects of Steadfast Materia stacks?

    • @kdogmich15
      @kdogmich15 4 роки тому +1

      Parry doesn't end Punisher mode or cause the counter. I'm fairy certain Flare Breath is a magic attack as well so it lets you block magic without leaving Punisher mode. Also less recovery time than blocking even on Cloud. You can also cancel out of attacks with it which you can't do with Block.

    • @asetoniffxv22
      @asetoniffxv22  4 роки тому +6

      I'll elaborate more in a video eventually (it might even be the first one I do), but to put it concisely...
      Parry Materia does quite a few things, but the main one is that it's a "dodge roll" with generous block frames just like you said. I get that this doesn't seem like much at first, but think of the implications. If you tried blocking out of an attack animation, you would have noticed that there's a massive delay, your character basically has to reset to neutral before raising their block. Dodge roll on the other hand can cancel the end lag of most attacks, but since it doesn't have any protection, you more often than not still take a hit anyway. Parry let's you block straight out of a combo. You can remain aggressive and react to an attack to block it to avoid majority of the damage and knockback. You see a number of times in this fight where I parry-flip through the Bahamut's flame attacks; dodge-rolling would get me hit anyway if I were that close and block would be too slow. The only reason I'm able to stay on his face is because of the Parry Materia.
      Also, Punisher Mode doesn't have a normal block at all, but Parry gives you that option. Parry also also doesn't take you out of Punisher, unlike dodge roll.
      Furthermore, parry comes with perfect hyperarmor, so even attacks that can't be blocked wont knock you back like they do on a mistimed dodge roll. Perfect hyperarmor also results in it *completely negating grabs.*
      *And then,* attacking after a Parry-flip skips the first 2 hits of Operator combo (which deal extremely little damage) and the first attack sequence of Punisher combo (which has a veeery long startup). It's a fantastic combo modifier, especially on Punisher, where you can just keep the attacks coming instead of having to go through the long recovery of the finisher followed by the long startup of the opener.
      So in short, it's block with animation cancelling, a dodge with built-in protection from stagger, damage and status effects, the ultimate solution to grabs, and a fantastic combo modifier. One thing it isn't is that *it's not a fucking parry.* Why the hell did they call it that?????

      Hey Mem, long time no see!
      It kind of has, there are a bunch of optional fights that you can do, and the hard mode that unlocks after beating the game seems to be balanced for max level. It's not as substantial as FFXV's but it's still a good amount of content.

      GAMING WITH ACE mechanically this game is quite a bit better, story wise I don’t even think I have to say anything, XV was rushed as hell and had a half baked plot, though I will say XV has a much better post game, there’s not too much to do in this one other than a couple optional bosses and hard mode

    • @mobilefeen5641

      Daddy D you are bugging! Lol The story in FFXV is awesome ! The starscourge infiltrating humanity.One man, Ardyn, uses the gifts giving to him(by BAHAMUT) to heal the world, but in the midst of doing so, is risking his own life in becoming Evil! BAHAMUT using the Caelums and Fluerets to do his dirty work in ridding the world of starscourge. Once finished, he hopes they all will perish from the starscourge. Ardyns younger brother taking credit as being the founder of the Lucis empire, but was not the original founder, Ardyn was. Him actually having a more aggressive mentality than Ardyn in how to heal the world. Him being praised instead of Ardyn when Ardyn was the true hero. Ardyn wanting to take back the throne, and Noctis and his pops getting in the way, as the throne truly belongs to him. Should I continue?!! Lmaoo The love story behind IFRIT and shiva, shiva having to kill IFRIT because he was too filled with anger and rage towards humanity, while shiva had a love for them! All the other Astrals(summons) falling into a deep sleep due to them protecting humanity for so long! Bro FFXV’s storyline is so deep and epic! You are BUGGING!!! Noctis dying and taking his place with all the other King’s of lucis! NO happy ending!! FOR ONCE! well at least in the base game ending. And the. Was giving an ending where he actually lived(Ignis’s chapter conclusion) And you are lucky they cancelled the last remaining DLC’s! It would’ve showed Noctis, Ardyn, Lunafreya and Aranea striking BAHAMUT for the last final battle. BAHAMUT being the true final boss of the game. Don’t tell me FFXV’s story is not EPIC! Lol way more interesting than ff7’s. IN MY OPINION!

      Mobile Feen How are you gonna say I’m bugging but then tell me your long winded opinion that embellishes the story, it sounds cool as hell when you describe it the way it was SUPPOSED to go with the Bahamut ending, but it simply didn’t send up that way, there were a ton of contrivances along the way and if you think a games ending is good because it’s a sad ending and we “don’t usually see those” I kinda doubt your ability to judge a story fairly, from what it sounds XV was your first FF game and you’re upset FF7R is getting much more attention than XV did after its multiple problems and delays
