I just want fixed blades that aren't D2
K390 enuff2 will do ya nice
The new kizer smolt is going to be in 3V
@@EDCandLaceyeah and it’s only what, $250? i got a bradford guardian in vanadis 4e for like $140
Hey @@EDCandLace, it's weird seeing you outside of a live chat!
BladeHQ has an exclusive Kizer Harpoon in CPM-10V. Nice little blade.
Great lineup! Jeremy is obviously very knowledgeable and represents the brand really well.
Always a pleasure to see a knife rep that actually knows his stuff, knows about the knives he's presenting. So many company reps are mega goldbrickers, bullshitters, coasting by on buzzwords.
💯
And that will admit when they don't know!
He knows his stuff, but he also added a band aid to his index finger after the 21 minute mark. Clearly those Kizers are razor sharp and he had an accident while showing them. Wish they'd left the footage in the video.
Love how Kizer is constantly mixing it up with blade shape and handle materials. It's also refreshing to be able to get more premium materials at an actual affordable price at a time when a lot of other companies are inflating their prices.
Some suggestions for future KnifeAQ episodes:
1. A super deep-dive episode all about bushcraft knives (bonus if you can include some desirable axe/saw options or features to look for), but specifically the best handle materials for bc knives, best grinds for BC knives, best blade shapes and lengths for BC knives, & the best steels for BC knives (including the new super steels even if they’re not traditionally used like Magnacut). Obviously that’s somewhat subjective but I feel like each category could be whittled (ba-dum-tss!) down to a top 5?
2. I would also love to see a knifeAQ dedicated to showing all the different grinds and what their best uses are. As well as which ones are easiest to maintain on your own at different skill levels and maybe HOW to maintain them I.e how and when to strop/sharpen.
Thanks DCA, Seth, Thomas, and crew! Keep doing what you guys do I love your content!
And if you could do a brand comparison between all the big brands in that genre (Esee, Reiff, Fallkniven, Morakniv, Joker, LT Wright, White River, Tops, Condor, Boker, etc…) that’d be amazing.
Also, how different knife coatings such as PVD or DLC play into the equation. considerations for maintaining a coded blade if you have to re-sharpen in the field and stuff like that
The invictus is unreal!
Kizer also not following the recent pricing trends, happy to see it and you have my support for that!
Massive fan of Kizer knives here, so thanks for the focus/feature! Nice looking, crazy sharp n slicey right outta the box every time, with wicked sweet actions. Begleiter iterations, Escort ( hugely underappreciated), Original...love these and others! Try em, folks, you'll be pleased❤
I'd implore Kizer to tinker with their larger fixed blades a bit. D2 is understandable on some smaller knives, but toughness really becomes important on larger ones, especially when chopping or batonning are use cases. D2 isn't particularly tough stuff. Keeping in the budget range, VG10/10Cr15MoV has a bit of a leg up on toughness over D2, or consider 14C28N/Nitro-V that has a bit less edge holding, but has heaps of toughness.
And of course you've made folders with 3V & 4V, both of which are ideal for larger fixed blades. It'd be great to see some fixies in those steels unless the price would just be tooo great to justify.
Yeah don't understand the using D2 with a LOT of companies with certain blades! They just miss the assignment with a bunch of em...... 😒
That invictus looks AWESOME! This might be my very first knife center purchase.
The momo is very appealing to me i love the shape definitely going to get one asap
Great stuff man! Kizer definitely Killin the knife game!! Yall QUICKLY became one of my all time favorite brands😊
The Justice is awesome. Perfect size. Beautiful design. Killer price. The Momo is even better!
One brand challenge with Kizer would be sick, easy enough to be happy with all 5 categories just from the options on this table!
Kzer / DCA and Knifecenter if your listening to your consumer's needs and wants make a premium MOMO with solid titanium scale, or even carbon fiber or an exclusive KC release with micarta. That flat black paint and aluminum scales are SUPER unforgiving... 154cm is good to go so that definitely was appreciated in this release.
I'd immediately get an additional Momo, in anything but aluminum ;)
I own the Kizer Catshark and have been very satisfied to use it as a small EDC
My favorite Kizer is the Mystic in Rex45, hope they'll continue making it 🙌
where is kizer smolt cpm3v for 60?
thank u fellas, some beautiful knives, but there is ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE for NOT having a Left Carry Clip on some of these knives! always enjoy yalls videos, thanx again
Great video. Love the Momo, Metaproptizol, and the Cryptid especially. I think some Ultem handles with these designs would be really nice
The lines on that Momo! It almost looks like a fixed blade, it’s so clean.
So, when you click on the link, on the “New” Kizer video, the link to the ORIGINAL says discontinued. Is it coming back? Did I miss that?
The Kizer Sparrow 👍👍 Good solid value, has mine about 3 weeks. Considering you don't have larger than average hands. Great reverse flicker, so so flipper, good blade steel for $159. 👍👍🔪
I completely agree. The flipper tab needs to be above the pivot for it to be a great flipper, but the reverse flick on this knife is magnificent.
Daaaaang our dude Jeremie is popping up everywhere!!
Clicked through to that Original Elmax and it says "Discontinued." Wrong link maybe?
kizer hits hard, what a line up!
Any updates on that prototype from last year with the crossbar and spine lock hybrid? Cool lock concept just wondering if keeping that blade shape that was with it or switching it to more of a drop point or sheepsfoot
Wow, superb these Kizers, I feel like I'm going to let myself be tempted.
That Momo is a beautiful knife.
I'm a bit disappointed on the price of the s45vn militaw - you said the price would be comparable, but it's $60 higher, or 38% more. I was hoping you guys would get this model since I missed Kizer's preorder, but damn, this is $45 more than the preorder price
That carbon fiber they were talking about on the Assassin is interesting. I have some of it on the Begleiter 2, and it does add a good amount of grip even though it just looks glossy on first glance.
Will that brass sheepdog be available in the mini version as well?
DCA, here’s a question: what’s the difference between an assisted and an automatic knife? I’m aware of the OTF and OTS different designs but does the spring tension have anything to do with it.
For instance, the Kershaw “speed safe” assisted one’s vs. the Kershaw Launch automatics.
Kizer's new rep does a great job.
Kizer won my business last year with their combination of value, quality materials, and impressive designs/craftsmanship. As long as Kizer doesn’t drop those knife standards, I’ll keep adding their knives to my collection and recommending their products to others.
Of all the knives in my collection, the Kizer Assassin is at the top of my user list. I’ve had no problems whatsoever with it since it arrived. Keeps a good edge (154CM), no button stick whatsoever, and glassy smooth deployment.
I must say … that MoMo is sexy . And I also want to add THANK you for your pricing on small knives ! I don’t do small knives but when I see them with a 2.3 inch blade and they want 399$ for the knife it makes me want to stop collecting all together I don’t give a damn if it’s made out out solid block of titanium there just isn’t enough there to warrant the prices on most of those mini knives
In relation to the drop bears clutch lock iv bin playing with the omega springs and i find the 2nd towards the tang of the blade works better ... but thats my prefrence... it has the same tension as the vosteed raccoon in witch i love
Kizer, is making some cool stuff. I wish the Momo and the Veritas had secondary flipper like the Task that hides in the handle as I'm not a front flipper guy but I like those designs as they look nice and clean.
I need one of those Momo's in a smaller size. About Sage 5 or PM2 size would be great for my personally. Looks slick
The Invictus looks great, reminds me of the CRKT Tuna.
Good stuff ..💪👊💯
Is there a difference between this "Limited Edition" Justice and the "Project Denim" version released in the summer of '22? I want to say this is essentially a re-release, but maybe the micarta is slightly different between them?
I want to know where I can get one of those Kizer hats!
Ooooh… That Invictus is sure value for money. Love it. The Banish also looks like a lot of budget friendly fun.
BTW: I am not a fan of thumb studs. Are any of the thumb studs on the knives easily removable?
Interesting you would feature a new for 2024 Kizer, Original fat carbon that is listed as discontinued?
I've been waiting for a Benchmade to release a Taggedout XL for a while. I think the Momo might get me there! Ordered and hoping it'll come out in anything but aluminum at some point!
That Momo is badass!
I'll be watching the live video tonight 😁
I bought a Kizer Justice with N690 steel and a Denim Micarta handle in July 2022. And I returned the Kizer Brat because it had weak flipping action.
I have the Momo and it is so cool.
How long have you had it? How bad does the aluminum scratch for you?
What about the Kizer Smolt in 3v !?! I can't wait to pick that one up!
lol that’s so funny with the new millitaw, talking about hearing it here first 😂 I heard about it weeks ago, you guys obviously didn’t end up getting your act together ❤
Kizer done amazing work recently I just wish the s45vn Drop Bear had the polished dlc finish that the new Militaw has!
I really like the Momo that I liked them to use a little bit better steel.
Went to Blade Show Texas and was somewhat disappointed you guys/Kizer weren't there, I was gonna definitely pick up the MOMO, yes,,, I can get it on line but nothing beats getting something somewhere for a memory and a story of where I got it, what a knife, DEFINITELY my blade style and size, could've bought two for what I paid for the Spyderco Yojumbo which I've also been wanting since it came out and there were none available at last years Blade Show Texas, I just have a hard time putting up that much money although worth it. If you were unable to get out of a serious situation but feel the need to pull the blade out, the front flipper tab on the MOMO would be ABSOLUTELY devastating in of itself if you needed to use it along with the blunt end of the handle, lets just say it's a warning before the blood bath God forbid. Stay safe and God bless.
They were at Blade TX! Good group of folks. Sorry you missed them.
@@d_sharon_design
Well CRAP,we were there like 7 hrs, thought I was pretty diligent, people were putting up at the tables in the front and half were moved out ALREADY before we left never seen their booth. That sucks, oh well, had an awesome day anyway. I didn't buy the Yojumbo till about 30 minutes before we left. I'll get the MOMO at some point. There's a Russian knife almost exactly like it with a bigger blade, the HOKC NUKER that I want also but can't find it anywhere in the USA, you can get HOKC'S Other knives but not the NUKER. Check that one out. I've been commenting on the guys that reviews it but it's only in Russian, trying to get them to some how do it in English hopefully sometime. Thanks for letting me know.
I find the Yaht has a much more usable blade profile than the Amicus. Slightly longer handle as well.
I hope they make a 3v or 4v version of all their fixed blades
The new kizer smolt will be in 3V!
We need the black polished DLC on the Veritas and all knives!
Would love to see a premium dogfish come out. Good stuff. I hear really good things about that clutch lock.
Looking for that original with fat carbon, ti clip and nebula fat carbon for $99
My momo is on the way
Kizer is hitting it out of the park lately
Kizer is one of those companies that make great knives that are also affordable.
That said, with so many really great pocketable knives at right around the $100 price-point, I would like to see all of them made available with either Magnacut or one of the two or three other top rated steels as an option; changing nothing else on the knife but the blade steel itself. I would gladly pay the price difference between 154CM or D2 steel, and Magnacut if that option were available, and I think it could be done for somewhere around $50 per knife.
I went to purchase the original elmax and the site said it was discontinued. WTF
Website says Original is discounted?!?! 🤷🏼
You should get 5 clutch lock knives (per person). Have someone off screen set them to each stage of tension. Then try to place them in tension order. Then reveal how close you were
I have that nebula sheepdog but I wish the blade was available in a non coated version. Now if that was dlc I wouldn't complain.
The justice isn't even showing up on the website 😢
The MoMo is very simillar to the Cold Steel roach belly i like it
I need the Huntsmen, Cryptid, and Task, all in a dark etched/stonewashed or in a DLC coating!!
Please, and thank you!!!
Got the mystic in my pocket as I'm watching smoothest knife I own out of about my whole collection glassy smooth
What kizer really needs to do ASAP is put some micarta scales on the clutch lock sheepdog, keep the 154cm and drop the price to 100$. I EDC the xl sheepdog for five years now and the only reason I haven't upgraded to the clutch lock is I don't want aluminum or carbon
I like the natural or burlap micarta personally, I don't care for kizers black micarta I think it's ugly as sin
The fatcarbon Sheepdog has everything I want except the blade shape. Wish it had other options.
Kizer are becoming one of my favorite knife brands. Great designs, great execution and great value too. Last one I got was the Invictus - love it!! Love the Micarta on it. I got it on a sale for 45€ (new), absolutely killer deal for that blade!
I'm really digging the kizer line as well. I've been dailying an original and I've forgotten all about my Kershaws and benchmades.
Kizer continues to rock imo. Please, please add more options with a lanyard hole, or even better a hidden bar on the back.
What happened to the fat carbon/Elmax Kizer Original that was shown in this video and the rep and DCA said it was $99??? I figured that was a mistake and that price was impossible. That would have been the absolute best knife/value for the $. Regardless, Kizer has been crushing it for the last few years. Kizer always seems to have great prices (knives with great materials/great QC and any other brand would be much more) Great video DCA and Thomas.
Beyond is really my bladerunner /cyberpunk style 😎 but how do I sharpen this bladeshape without destroying edge?
S45VN? Yes please! I’m not into the melty looking fat carbon, but I hope Kizer uses more of that steel.
Best for last,whaddup Loot!
That brass Sheepdog looks great, can't deny that. 👀
IIRC, Kizer also makes that same model in micarta and g10. I’ve been on the fence on that brass model due to the weight, but am more than likely to buy one soon because of the lifespan it offers.
was hoping to see more of that glossy polished dlc like on the updated militaw
Great episode love the Invictus
When is that Momo being released?
Kizer originals been an everday carry for over a year. Great knife for when you just need a knife...
Huntsman price ?
Cryptid was truly the only one that caught my eye. I can appreciate it was designed by a knife fan
Please make the Momo with a 4" handle and a 3" blade.
While I understand your desire, I'd rather they got bigger than smaller... There are so many 3" - 3.5" options for slicey knives, noting really at 4" and more...
@@youcaillou There are a bazillion 3" blade knives out there but the way they are designed nearly all of them are suitable only for people with tiny hands. This is one of the few designs where a 3" blade will be usable by someone with average adult male sized hands.
The Original in Elmax is discontinued on the website! What gives?!
Momo with a button lock and the Invictus in XXL version.
Or this: a Momo XXL at 5 inches?
@@youcaillou I'd be super okay with that. I'd even go for a Kizer Begleiter XXL without thumb studs.
Too bad Kizer isn’t listed under your available brands, and doesn’t pop up when searching your website.
It is working for me, not sure why it is not for you :/ -DCA
Man that fatcarbon original looks sick. Sold out already 😪
It's a hell of a deal at that price
And showing discontinued. hmm
I think it was sold out before this video was even released. It's a 2 year old model, and I think Kizer discounted them down to $108 at one point, but they are all gone and have been for a while.
@@ai42 booooo
The original is the 1st or original button lock knife from Kizer...
now were talkin! great episode. no clown hair dude, super smart cat from kizer, knives visible on the table, some decent sized flippers over 3", DCA & an updated opening. keep it up knife center
👍
You need to get some of that '80s fat carbon on that new milltop😊
Button lock momo ftw. (And a super slicey blade.) I'd buy it for sure. (In elmax would be even better.)
Is that seth cutting in and flipping the knives 😂
Can’t believe he didn’t have one of the new militaws!!!
👍🍻
Nice filming, b-roll and editing, Tom! 👍
Just wondering what the purpose of that knife with the almost square blade in the middle of the thumbnail is other than being ugly. The Invictus though is a genuinely pretty knife.
