Mike the drummer needs some love, too. He always kills whatever crazy beat and time he's playing, plus he's a big part of the vocal harmony.
The way Bridget rocks that double bass and sings harmony with perfection displays her immense talent as a musician. 'Cause it ain't easy, folks, to sing and play bass.. I can only hope that everyone can appreciate her efforts. Not to leave anyone out, they are all immensely talented. But as a bass player, my heart belongs to Bridget Kearny

This is totally awesome. And Rachael Price? One of the greatest of all current voices. Not only does she sound great, note by note, but she also phrases everything beautifully. This is great, great stuff.
She does a great job with songs I hate,and would normally not even listen to once.I can think of dozens of things I 'd like to hear her take on.

I love how their performance of these songs develop over time... Rachael really gets down and dirty on this one! And the harmonies are so rich and full and innovative! This band just keeps getting better and better every time I hear something new from them! Even the songs I've listened to over and over, each new version is amazing and captivating!

Love Lake Street Dive, a bit of recent discovery for me. Incidentally Graham Parker and the Rumour did a storming rendition of this track in the 1970's. Worth a search

Rhythm. Played behind the beat until the last possible milesecond. If done well it creates an exquisite affect like a lover working their way up to your spot. It's why the Blues can be so sexy. And Rachel Price too. She shapes and bends it like a toy, pushing slower and faster. That's the real cherry on top - a gifted singer with fantastic sense of rhythm as good as the musicians backing her.
This particular performance they're dragging even slightly more than usual and is most likely responsible for my current sonic erection.

Just amazing, all of them. It's not surprising that Rachel's velvet voice steals the show, but any one of them could give a master class in their respective instruments. Especially the bass player! That shit was hot!

The only similarity with Winehouse is that she sings in a jazz style, like Winehouse. People are so unfamiliar with it that they think any jazzy singer sounds like Winehouse. They both have (had) incredible strong voices and great jazz interpretation of songs.
Better than Winehouse. More range...and not dead.
