I'm going to count every like you get on this comment as additional support for Officer Permadeath. Seems like a way to not spam reckless officers at everything.
@@AsherGames for sure I’ve already binged the series lol. You do keep the spirit fairly well.of course there are some interesting ways you might have to expand with ships via construction late game. Whatever you decide to do I’m sure will be challenging and fun keep it up!
Fuel is a tricky thing, and I've run into (and forgot about) this before. Even mothballed, you've got to move the hunk of junk. I could have just left it, but I needed the resources.
You know, I specifically gave myself a monthish of a breather from Starsector because I had a feeling we were due for another patch. So no, the timing isn't ideal, BUT generally what I try to do is wait for the hotfixes to happen before firing up another series. Plus...holy hell it's always hard to go back to vanilla.
Hey Asher, i've basically copied your modlist for my own playthrough. However, would it be possible for me to get a copy of your adjusted sector settings? I just can't seem to get mine to work right. Many thanks!
Yay, more Starsector! Interesting way to emphasize exploration. Won't you just end up with systems without anything, and then systems that have a bunch of high end finds? Like with Nuzlocke in Pokemon, each route is a potential source, but in Starsector, plenty of systems don't have any recoverable ships, let alone useful ones. *shrugs* I'd personally find a "no skill point ship recovery" rule more enjoyable over per system limits (maybe with further limits on enemy ship recovery), but I'm not the one playing 😜 I do think loosening the rules to allow for getting non-combat ships would be a Good Idea, maybe after level 5 or 10. Maybe even disallow them from outfitting any weapons (or just PD). Logistics needs are only interesting up to a certain point, imo. Also, if you could add WhichMod, that would be fantastic. Super lightweight mod that IDs which mod something comes from in its description text.
Thanks for the thoughts and mod suggestion. As I mentioned, I'm not as familiar with Nuzlocke as it appears in Pokemon so I've tried to make a ruleset that keeps the spirit alive while not necessarily obliterating a Starsector play through. So yes, you're right. There will be some dud systems (as you've seen already) that won't have anything in them. That's why I added a bunch of extra systems. Also, there's always the possibility of fleets spawning in places anyway. The ruleset is always something I'm open to revisiting as the run goes along. I'll keep your suggestions in mind.
hey Asher, how'd you get seeker to work with the 0.45 version of magiclib? my client doesn't allow me to toggle it due to needing an older version of magiclib
Go to the mod_info.json and open it up with notepad. Change the game version to the current version (0.95.1a-RC6) if necessary, and then further down change the MagicLib version to 0.45.2. That's all I needed to do.
Since this is a nuzlock it absolutely needs the rule of no duplicate ships (minus cargo fuel, and salvage for practicality), and ships must be named and cant be reused if one dies for good (like you cant just get another of the same type). A good goal to replace the concept of gyms would be doing 1 of each star fortress type (plus a functional reminent nexus), killing at least 1 of each "boss ships" like derelict mothership or ziggaraunt (im not quite sure what boss ships the other factions you have in here bring). I also agree that officers should die if their ship dies but also should be allowed different amounts of elite skills and levels compared to your level.
Sorry if I missed it- What about event ships? Like, if you take an exploration mission and find a station and it asks you to feed it a ship to get one, can you do that?
Yes, you are allowed to get ships from events. However, I did misspeak at one point about one event. Since transverse jump is banned I am not going to be able to get the ship from the alpha site.
ohh didnt even know that you could put down markers or checkboxes with the console commands. thats a nice feature. Was always looking for a way to customize the map with markers since finding your own Starsystems on the Map was always a hassle to do for me at least. Noice
5:48 I got a new kitten a couple of weeks ago, I found him crying in the rain behind my house, so ofc I had to dry him off and feed him. My other two cats are *NOT* amused.
i would like to know the values you used in adjusted Sector, i can't get the map in the same diretion as you get it. I have to many Sytem stacking each other and when i increase the map size sytemes dont get move out side the stanadard Sector.
Please, please for the love of god don't totally fuck up! I REALLY want to enjoy this because you clearly have the potential to be enjoyable to watch....
@@AsherGames I'd guess that'd be it I'll try some testing of it later if that is the case, cause that is hilarious that it just had occurred nearly out of the blue!
Hey, please add Exotica Technologies! You can add it midgame and it makes the game harder and you can tune your own ships even more. Also it is an awesome moneysink.
uaf is actualy most op factino and hivers to becuse weapons uaf becuse semibrve torpedo this torpedo can one low tech low level stions and even low tech do mid tech capital size ships i hivers can kill hole sector few cycles by few i mean 1-3 years in game. there is called save delition action mod but is outdated and can use delete save on death hole fleet and exit game.
Yes, I very purposefully chose UAF as a faction this time for about the reason you describe. Their power level is substantially high. And they might very well not be on my side.
Hahahaha
AHAHAHAHAHAA
Now starts the pain ☺️☺️😂😂
And yes Perma death for officers. Keep it nuzlock baby!!!

Oh hell yeah. We're going for a ride boys, strap in.
Oh heck yeah!! Looking forward to the new series!
Thanks so much I hope you enjoy it!
Always happy to see you start a new star sector playthrough. Very much enjoyed the lore you added for this one.
Thanks! It means a lot to hear that.
Been a while since I was in SS. Nice to see where the mods are at.
wewt! just found this. glad you're doing a new run, man!
welcome back! hope you enjoy
So happy you started a new playthrough, I'm just finishing the previous one :)
WOW, Nuzlock run? Awesome!!!
I love watching nuzlocks for Pokémon so cool that you thought of putting this game style into Star sector! Looking forward to a nice long series
Thanks! I hope you enjoy. I obviously can't do pure Pokemon style Nuzlocke because they're very different games. But the spirit is there.

gratuitous series start comment! glad you can use the gates.
6:40 THIS is cool, Asher!
Love watching star sector vids. Thank you for makesing them
Thanks for the kind words. Enjoy!
Instant like for sc series :)
What a cool concept for a run, definitely looking forward to going through this.
This will be a interesting play with the hivers
This is awesome, your luck of finding ships but not having enough fuel to haul it back in uncanny.

I had to manually change one of the mod files to work with the current version.

bro really added a mod that allow you to play D&D in starsector ?
man i love this game so much XD
Love your content

It's not just Console Commands, but via the Captain's Log mod.

whhiiich mod made that "regards from beyond" to occur? i haven't seen a mod/event/weapon that did that.

have you considered allowing transverse jumping into systems from nascent gravity wells?

Daily episodes?
I'd love to, but definitely consistent episodes.
hey, why not try to contraband organs and drugs to pirates
That's generally a good play, although it's interesting how the hiver tendency to "produce everything" has kind of screwed up the economy.
star control much?
