iPadOS 17 is the update that will definitely get me using my iPad more often now. It doesn't feel like a "new features" update per se, but more of a "refinement" update, polishing up some rough edges in the OS while sprinkling in some nice quality-of-life additions to the experience. Excellent video as always!

What ipad do u have?
I have a 2021 12.9” iPad Pro in silver. I mainly use it for drawing and taking notes in my classes, but I haven’t found much use outside of those cases, especially since I also have a laptop that I daily for my a majority of class assignments. What about you?

I agree. Funny thing is, some of these so-called new features have been around since iOS 14. Seems these features are tweaked to work alongside the upcoming Mac OS Sonoma, which is probably supposed to take advantage of the upcoming M3 chip, even though this is a performance factor.

Stage Manager, PDF editing and Notes 2 are my favourite parts of the iPad OS 17. I am not sure on Widgets, as I have never found any functionality provided either by Apple or third parties that improves my workflow, especially the Calculator widgets. I am with you, why no calculator app? And there is no excuse for not porting the iOS calculator app now that we have stage manager, as it would appear in its own neat window, which you could stretch into a horizontal window for scientific view. Plus, still no ability to eject, format or repair an external SSD or memory card. Android does! There are times when Apple are complete dinosaurs when they get stuck in the Steve Jobs mindset.

@@ByteReview Ok.. here is a list of apps I plan to use.. Fender Play, its a guitar lessons app with human instructors created by Fender.. Gibson Guitar lessons app, Fender Tone, a app that allows you to change, edit and create effects and preset on my Fender GTX guitar amp.. Marshall Gateway, does the same thing as the Fender tone but for Marshall Code 25 and 50 watt amps.. The Spark app, an app for the Positive Grid Spark modeling amp.. Katana Librarian and the Katana Air app, apps for the Boss Katana MKII guitar amps.. Mantis from the Laser Academy, an app used to dry fire indoor target practicing, this app utilizes the camera to stare and targets and keep score, and finally, Final Cut Pro... I have it on my mac mini but apparently I have to get another copy for the tablet.. so based on all of this, which would you go with, the 12.9 or the 11?
The only thing I really missed in this update was the ability to hear more than one audio channel. It's very frustrating when you visit a website or app and your sound suddenly stops.
Thats literally a good feature? You want audios to mix up and create a mess?
@@laxuscullen I just want the audio I'm listening to not stop every time I enter a website or app that emits sound. For example, here in my country I use WhatsApp Web a lot and as soon as I access it my music is already paused.
My only question about the new update is, where are the beautiful old exclusive iPad Pro Lockscreens or the wallpapers of the mountains and stuff?

5:30 Basically, Apple sometimes takes its sweet time to catch up with features that Android has had for ages. It can be frustrating, but Apple tends to polish things up real nice before throwing them out there. So, while Android might have been the trendsetter, Apple wants to make sure their version is like the cool kid with all the right moves.
Where Apple is most behind is no 8K video recording. Samsung Galaxy has had this capability for a few years now, and the quality is surprisingly good, even approaching the clarity on mirrorless cameras at a fraction of the cost. iPad Pro 3 probably still have 12 MP sensor, but at least iPhone 15 having 48 MP stills is the biggest feature altogether.

4:59 I love Paperlike products, however they have become really expensive £61 for a folio case is a joke. My last folio case cost £12 and it held up very well.
I now find Stage Manager as useful now as I used to find it frustrating.

I am an Android user, but I always keep my eyes on the development of both Apple and Android ecosystems. To be frank, Android (particularly Samsung) is closer to what I want now but the iPadOS 17 is getting closer to the tablet that I want to use.
Samsung Galaxy Fold 4 is the best tablet experience by far. Multi tasking is way better and even the speakers on my Fold blow the ones on my iPad Pro away.
@@SwatBeatsOfficialThen you must have a bad iPad, because the speakers on my iPad Pro are insane, to be honest. Not as good as on the MBP though, but they’re really good.
Instagram doesn’t make a iPad specific app - that’s probably why you can’t resize like you want.
External Camera doesn’t work with other apps, probably because that needs the developers to allow it. Same for interactive widgets.

Instagram and similar iPhone Apps, even though they will run on the iPad, are still phone apps and won’t fully integrate with the iPad software. The app developers need to make apps that are designed for the iPad. That is on them.

Bro, I am unable to do SCREEN MIRRORING using my "iphone 13 pro" to my "ipad pro M1" .
Whenever i try to SCREEN MIRROR from iphone, it shows only macbook pro , but not my ipad's. Why is it so ? .

Missing feature--ProRes video recording. Only a few third-party Apps that allow this to work, supposedly, but you have to pay for them, and they are crippleware. The camera is sub-par on the iPad, so I guess ProRes means little.
A lot of folios have the pencil flap….but none of them have it the way I think is most natural.
When will we get tap to send cash (to a friend) or part pay a dinner bill ?

I think somewhere out there on UA-cam, Craig Federighi has explained why they haven’t done an iPad calculator yet.
I think I've seen the clip, something about them wanting to do it 'right' 🤣
It think it’s because they need to figure out how they are going to do it without allowing the app to go full screen. A full screen calculator looks stupid on the 13 inch Pro.
Someone suggested a control center widget as a great implementation.

I got a calculator from the App Store and it is annoying to use. Had one on an android tablet before and it was much better.
Microsoft actually patented on the window snapping feature, so that feature will never arrive on Mac and iPad

The iPad doesn't have a calculator because Steve Jobs wasn't happy with scaling up the iPhone's calculator for it. According to an interview between MKBHD and Tim Cook.
