OH MY!!! Classic Dick Enberg. Loved Enberg and Merlin Olsen. Probably because they did a ton of Dolphins games, and of course some iconic playoff games.
Man for a quick moment in time,I can literally visualize watching and HEARING these guys covering this game and many Fin games, what an awesome era,oh to go back even for a few moments would be the best!!He may not have won a ring but was there another more exciting passer at any given moment then DAN MARINO and yes credit where it's due KENNY O'BRIEN could absolutely sling it and it's funny looking back on this game here,I think O'Brien would fit right in with today's pass happy league, obviously we know Marino would be torching D's to the tune of 6,000 yards and 60 TD's, 🤣,FR DOH 😐
Kenny was a very good QB but wouldn't say ELITE but when he was on man he could put up the numbers!!He's a perfect case of what if,because u are right tho,he was no doubt about it,good enough to get his team to SB!!
Was there that day, considered one of the 10 greatest regular season games in AFL-NFL history Walker caught 4 of O'Brien's 6 TD passes Always felt he was grossly overlooked by the HOF voters
After the Dolphins beat my Chicago Bears in that infamous December 2, 1985 Monday night game, I made it a point to watch Dolphins games to watch them lose. This game was insanely fun! Both teams kept coming back at each other. This was probably till this day the greatest Jets game I've ever watched save them beating New England at Foxboro in that divisional playoff game. Marino and the Dolphins offense was so exciting to watch.
UK fan....watching this game made me a Jets fan....why couldn’t my tv have broken that week, endless misery supporting this train wreck of a franchise!!
Back in the days! The "sack exchange ". Hasn't been the same for a looong time. Hopefully Sam Darnold will help turn this dysfunctional organization around 🙏.
@@joedimaggio6261 Ken O'brien was fine until he had too many concussions . The Jets were a great team in '86 until all the injuries. Seriously. O'brien declined as a QB and his career was cut short because of the multiple concussions he had. He didn't even finish the season because of being hit so hard. 10-1 we started that season then the injures happen and we lose the last 5 games of the season limp into the playoffs beat kansas City and then blow a 10 point lead with minutes to go and lose to the Browns in 2 OT.
@@deckard2665 O'brien waa a solid quarterback but had some serious flaws. Alot of the hits he took were of his own fault because he never learned to throw the ball away when his receivers were not open. A quarterback could have the greatest offensive line in front of him but it could only hold back a pass rush for so long. Marino was one of the greatest quarterbacks ever. Marino couldn't run but he had the smarts to throw away the back if his receivers were covered.
I Graduated 8 Years After Wesley Walker @ Carson High School in Carson, California. He's Legally Blind in one Eye. I Met Him around 2020. (Very Nice Person) I believe that he still owns the High School Record for Yards Per Reception with with 29 YPR. (Carson Colts) And College Record with 25 YPR. (Cal Bears)
Ken o brien really had no fair chance in the league. He had a bad o line and had joe walton and rich Kotite as his coaches. It’s a miracle what he pulled with toon and walker
Enberg and Olsen, 2 of the greats. Gives me goosebumps to hear them now and harken back to those 1980's

Yeah they were the A team for NBC when they covered the AFC

One of the greatest game of all time.
An all time classic out of the AFC in a decade dominated by the NFC.
Kenny O'Brian deserved sooo much better -- he was an elite QB..
He just couldn't get consistent he would light it up one week and lay down the next

The 1980s was the best decade for football

I remember this game well! It was one if the most exciting games I've ever seen.
Dick Enberg's voice made tennis exciting
Oh my!!!
This has to be the number one underrated rivalry in the NFL. Ps. Love to see Marino play.
This type of shootout between the Jets and Dolphins was a staple in the mid to late 80s NFL.
7:24 Wesley Walker scores again!!!!! great call Dick enberg

Right there with you. Followed them through thin and thin since!
Steveoqotsa really u like to win on a fumble that was obvious and not called!!

Better than being a bandwagon. Saints fan since 78. Our run is almost over we'll go back to the bottom when Sean and drew leave
Been a fan since 1979
The Jets really had a Super Bowl quality team then.
Not with Ken O'brien at QB and Joe Walton as head coach.

O’Brien could have played in today’s game. He was elite at the time he played! Can you imagine competing with Marino in your division?

7min mark: nowadays that horseshoe tackle would get you arrested
Ken o.brien did have an arm on him.
Woow! Ken o'brien.! Great qb 80s
What was the over under for this game?
44.0
"Game, Season" in N.F.L. for its 1986-1987 season. 51-45 OT "walk-off" win at home for N.Y. Jets against Dolphins 🐬
rather watch this than any of the current dolphins games. And they lose on this game. enough said.
Have always felt bad for Marino, he would put up 45 and the damn inept defenses that Shula would put together would give up 51, sad!!!
Blatant Jets fumble on overtime kickoff at 20:00 should have ended game
You know you're a shitty defense when you're shittier than Marino's offense is great.
Yes we had a clam bake at our local bar in jersey for the game and there were some broken bottles over that fumble that wasn’t called!!!!!!🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬
Bearded clams ?
METAL HEAD rock on metal head 😎😎🐬💪🍻🎸
Well they called that incomplete pass a fumble so you got a break there.
Seems like yesterday..
Walker and toon over duper and Clayton. R u on drugs
They beat em alot
One had O'Brien one had Marino. Hard to say.
Ken o brien really had no fair chance in the league. He had a bad o line and had joe walton and rich Kotite as his coaches. It’s a miracle what he pulled with toon and walker
i love games with no defense
I’d take Walker and Toon over Clayton and Duper any day of the week.
You'd lose then
Shit not me
@NIKO SAMUELS they had Marino though
I would also take Toon and Walker over the Marks brothers but I'm definitely taking Marino over O'brien
@@joedimaggio6261 Thanks Captain Obvious.
What a Game. J E T S Jets Jets Jets.
Petro Dollar 💵 ref was paid off 😎
MARINO!
Ken O’Brien would have an awful game the prior week, but then he plays Dan Marino and he plays like a god and wins.
Zachary Lewis yea ain’t it the 🦷
