Picked one up a couple of days ago and I love it. Walther's Web Site lists recommended and not recommended brands and loads of 22 magnum ammo. Believe their Web Site on this. I found even without a mounted Red Dot Sight most 30 or 36 grain 22 magnum ammo will not cycle the slide reliably. Forty grains and above ammo is the best to use.
Man, I appreciate you. That’s part of why I love doing this channel. Hopefully it shares some info for the average everyday end user. Appreciate the watch.
I love mine ❤. I’ve got around 800 rounds through mine and have only a few bobbles shooting lower grain ammo. I have a Swampfox Justice reflex sight on mine, and mine shoots amazing. Lime you I have an issue with riding the slide release so I have to adjust, but that’s a common problem with. Mine has been very reliable with even some lower grain ammo (except for a few issues). Walther does have a list of recommended and not recommended ammo on their website as a guide. Like you said, it’s a blast to shoot, pun intended. Now if I could only find a holster for it, left handed then I could carry it around the property.
Excellent Video! I thought long and hard about getting this pistol and decided to just stay with 22LR pistols. If Walther would make a 22LR pistol like this (or slightly smaller), I would buy for sure. Keep up the great work!
@Sonny Thompson They do for sure and I didn't explain myself when I posted before. I have xl sized hands and their other .22 pistols are too small for me and only have 10-12 round capacities. There are other brands that have 16-20, even 25 round capacities, which is what Walther needs to develop.
Like to see for 2023: - more B&T reviews, maybe a look into their 5.56 rotex and mars suppressors. - Aimpoint duty RDS review - ADM rifle review - Ripcord industries review
Those are all great ideas. In regards to B&T. Over rated under performing. So buying these for review is because, they just don’t do content creation well. The suppressor content will comeback but with the restrictions by YT. It’s gonna be tough. Aimpoint RDS is coming. ADM rifles. Working on a POC. Ripcord. Not really on my radar.
@rdrgear ripcord's rail system looks interesting, I just wonder how much of it is them going for the instagram likes/flex. Check it out when you get a chance.
Does anybody know if it's louder than the 22 TCM 9R? I have one of those suckers and damn it's loud. Very powerful cartridge. Very good self defense round. I was thinking about getting the Walter 22 Mag. But I'm a little hesitant because the ammo is just as expensive as 9MM ammo. I was thinking I'm just getting the Taurus Defender 605 357 Magnum 3 in. But damn I can't decide. What the hell I'm a flip a coin LOL. Which one would you choose?
True. No optics option. And I can not remember is the p30 has a light rail. And I bet you money. It’s pretty close to the weight of a p30. And it’s a hell of a lot better looking. And at the end of the day, the P30 is stil a Kel-tec.
@@rdrgear The PMR30 does have a light rail. The weight of the WMP is 28 ounces. The weight of the PMR30 is 14 ounces. But if I was looking for a .22 Magnum semi-auto today, it would be the WMP. Every Walther I own or have tried has outstanding ergonomics.
Walther refunded mine on the 30 day buy and test program. The magaines wiggled loos over a quarter inch when locked in place. It kept failure to feed and jam with all the suggested ammo Walther recommended, Walther told me they would repair or replace it. After three months it was still at Walther with no answers. Walther said they would replace it after several calls asking what was going on. They changed their mind and told me nothing was wrong with it. It was confirmed by y gunsmith that the lower frame was not manufactured correct. Alot of double talk and lying from Walther customer service but I finally was refunded. A lot of these WMPs have the same issue and have been refunded.
Not sure what to tell you. I just did a quick search. I can’t find anything on line that’s shows this is a standard issue. But I’m glad you ultimately got your money back.
@@rdrgear There were a few you tubers and shooters on rimfire central forum with the exact same issue a few weeks to a few months after the WMP was released...and were also refunded from Walther. I posted videos of how loose the magazin slop was when locked into place causing the issues on rimfire central. Feel free to go over there ans see it. If walther gave me a pistol and ammo and apid to say it was great like 22plinkster I'd have a hard time sleeping at night.
I don’t always say this but it’s a lot of fun to shoot. I was genuinely surprised at how much fun I had shooting it. It’s literally like shooting an AR but in a true pistol format.
I got one 5 months ago. Great fun fun fun pistol. Have had ZERO problems with any type of ammo. The quality of this gun is awesome.
Great review and I really like mine and I like Walthers handguns.

I bought this pistol just as fast as I could get my hands on one. I bought a marlin mod.57 levermatic in 1970 just to go with this pistol.
I love your videos. Amazing. I’ve learned so much. Thank you for posting. Keep them coming.

Walther makes several 22lr pistols all very good.

Video was well done. I want a WMP.
Just bought this gun, your video was the final factor with my purchase. Thank you!

Anybody know where to purchase a threaded barrel for the WMP
It's on my list. Look at the sw model 648!!!!!
This is an absolute perfect trainer!

It is lightweight compared to many handguns this size. But the Kel Tec PMR 30 is half the weight and has twice the capacity.

the pmr 30 has 10 times the jams
@@MrGraveBait Mine did until I returned it to the factory. It has been extremely reliable since then.

USE ONLY Walthers tested and recommend ammo. High velocity, 40gr. ammo‼️‼️
Love this 22mag
I apologize for not finding this channel sooner
Well, I'm glad you are here now. Welcome. And thank you for
The support.
It's a fire-breather, I would not put that flashlight on it.

It's just how skinny the 22 mag round is that makes it jam like that.
In over 2500 rounds, my WMP has had zero malfunctions.
I just wish it was a real Walther from Ulm , not a Umarex made and stamped pseudoWalther. I still have a bad taste in my mouth from an early P22.
Great review...ty.
