Depending on the equipment you have, that's kind of physically necessary. At a point, it's not your brain filling in the rest. It's you naturally doing that to generate the force to push stiff pedals and turn a wheel with more force.

I think everything in this video was insanely cool, but one thing that really stood out was the Tilt Five. One of my favorite Adventure Time episodes has always been Card Wars, and when they made a mobile game version of it I used to play it all the time for years, and I used to wish that one day someone could make an actual hologram version of it like in the show. I feel like that can be a reality now with the upcoming advancements in AR/Hologram tech, and specifically something like the Tilt Five, and it makes me really excited for the future of this stuff and the endless possibilities.
I keep thinking of using it for a yugio card march XD I'm honestly thinking of buying one and using it for a dnd campaign! I think that would be one of the coolest things ever!
10:45 I was playing a workshop level of Half Life: Alyx and in it, I had to go in a hot, steamy room. A beam of sunlight happen to break through the clouds in that moment and hit my black jeans. As I walked passed some pipes, hot steam came out and damaged me. IRL, my leg got pretty hot at the same moment. I was so immersed that it took me around 10 seconds to freak out and wonder how my leg got hot. It really was amazing.

drift is nowhere near as big an issue as people make it out to be. really only a problem for quest 2 controllers. I've got CV1 controllers still going strong after 4 years of daily use.
@@plum_pie6402 my quest one controllers are near unusable, I can't turn in certain directions since the stick just won't register it and sometimes it won't let me stop moving
@@matthewweinberger7023 yeah quest controlers do that. not every controller with a joystick does. however if your controlers are drifting badly look up online, there are a handful of fixes ranging in efecxtiveness and dificulty, if you do open up your controller to blast it with canned air it will fix it the best.
I always was interested in VR but this channel really got me really invested. For years I didn't know what job I should apply for after school and now I will have a job as a system integrator in the XR field. Thanks Thrill for showing me the work I always wanted to do but didn't know it existed
Man sometimes I really have to remind myself that all this stuff is actually real. It all feels so science fiction even in it's currently imperfect state
Our XR company actually developed a prototype for the Tilt5 and, to be honest, it was REALLY rough. Bad tracking, bad controller lag, bad visuals, bad refresh rates. It REALLY seems like they cleaned up their act if Thrill was this impressed by it!

That motion simulation chair is the kind of thing I have been waiting for for some time now, I can't believe it's here! I would love to fly in MS Flight Sim 2020 with that chair, especially with the Top Gun challenges!
Seems like the Lynx R1 + A pair of Etee controllers might be a really good, if relatively expensive, privacy-focused competitor to the Quest, especially with that slim form factor. VR hardware is finally getting good.
I am glad the Lynx people fixed their internal company problems and are coming out with the HMD. I thought it was a very interesting design from the beginning and hoped it could be a near Quest competitor.

@@PandaGamingPodcast are the steam titles even gonna run on the standalone version of the headset? that is the problem. to beat the quest 2 it would need that big library of games available.some indie titles and AAA releases through sidequest maybe if you just download the APK file and the lynx uses a version of android as well.

Tilt Five reminds me of this game on the PS3 where you used the PS Camera, and used cards which would erupt into an animated version of the character in the card. Obviously no where near as advanced as the TIlt Five, but reminded me of it none the less.
Best haptic feedback is a wall or a corner. It's free and when you hit it in vr it's so realistic. Even controllers understand how realistic it is and break.
Idc about a video that could possibly be 10 hours, as long as you can do a cover about most of the tech there and you’re alright with it, it would be AWESOMEE

It's more of a pre-order. According to Stan, the last of the kickstarter backers may have to wait until September to get their units. Anyone putting in an order today may have to wait even longer. Granted, it's still a far shorter wait than a Steam Deck reservation.
Its so cool to see how fast vr is moving but its also hard kind of a double edge sword since its hard to judge when to upgrade if you only plan on buying devices occasionally
I feel like that AR beat saber would be really cool to play at parties with those really small lightweight compact vr goggles you showed in another video. Something small enough that it looks like welding goggles, so it doesn’t get in the way, but something that allows you to elevate your experiences

The HTC Vive controllers used a track pad instead of a thumb stick and it works really well. Using it to walk and run was just as easy as a thumb stick.

I just can't help but feel that air pressure based tactile solutions are never going to take off. You'll always need a compressor and tubes can only get so small before they don't function well especially in faster paced environments. I've always wondered if small micromagnets would be more feasible (small localized charge to separate the magnets pressing into your skin), although the cost would probably be worse sadly. To the future!
I hope augmented reality glasses get to the point where you can use them as actual glasses to adjust your lenses whenever your eyesight gets worse. As someone who wears glasses, it'd mean a ton.

The tilt 5 honestly has so much potential. If more games like tabletop Sim release for it I'd honestly buy it, the idea of playing card games or DnD or something as if you are playing with friends is crazy!
DnD on the Tilt 5 would be incredibly awesome. With AR and that you could play DnD with people online and see them around the table like an in person game. Peak DnD.
I remember the Tilt Five being being announced as a project, what feels like, years ago. If you can get really large play mats (like diner table size), it would be INCREDIBLE.. and an easy addition to my house.

I feel like a controller using a thumbstick supplement sounds pretty cool. Especially when stick drift is such a problem with other controllers.

Hall effect sensors don't suffer from drift nearly as bad (the type of stick in the PS3 controller).

Haptic feedback could be really useful for those who model in 3D, you could actually feel the resistance from clay.

The tilt 5 honestly has so much potential. If more games like tabletop Sim release for it I'd honestly buy it, the idea of playing card games or DnD or something as if you are playing with friends is crazy!
DnD on the Tilt 5 would be incredibly awesome. With AR and that you could play DnD with people online and see them around the table like an in person game. Peak DnD.

I remember the Tilt Five being being announced as a project, what feels like, years ago. If you can get really large play mats (like diner table size), it would be INCREDIBLE.. and an easy addition to my house.

I'm so excited about the speed of progress. When all of this technology becomes cheaper to produce and is amalgamated, there is no limit to immersion.
