Jonah, I never thought I had a bucket list but as a pianist on Cape Cod I’ve decided going to a really wonderful NY jazz club with atmosphere is near the top of that list. Thanks for your video, hopefully I’ll get there by 2022 when we can all get cozy and crowd together and have a good time.
I was station On Governor Island (when it was a coast Guard base) back in the early 80s..A friend of mine took me to a few clubs, and that was my first time really listening to jazz and blues,,I was hooked after that..Al-though I have yet to return to NYC ( hopefully one day) and where I live is about as far away from having a jazz/blue club/music as the moon if from the sun..UA-cam and Records fix the bill ..really enjoy your video, thank you..
Thanks for this video! I’de add some new clubs I haven’t heard before for our next visit in october 😍 Do you know any tours/walks that deep a little more in black music history in NYC? I’m a photographer and really want to know more about it. Thanks!!
Thank you, this is great information! If you had to recommend a spot closest to Times Square, looking for dinner and band/show, could you recommend a few spots? Glad I found this video, thanks so much!
Many of them do. Just give the venues a call to make sure because some of them are also bars. Try the jazz standard. I took my 8 year old son there and he enjoyed it
Big thanks for this. I’m a jazz fan for many years, and we’re going to NY soon. I needed this. 🌹
Big thank you for this tour. It is very useful and kind of you.

Best jam spot for jazz musicians?
Does the village vanguard have performances everyday? I went on the website and saw only June 18 - June 20
Looking for folk or country venues in new york please
Not really my expertise but I’ll look into it for you
@@TheJazzMusiciansVoice don't bother
Going next month with an 11 yr old who loves jazz. Which venues will allow a well behaved child?

All the real clubs are gone the savoy the Renaissance it's a damn shame
Absolutely....I'd like to see everyone come together to try and open some new ones.
@@TheJazzMusiciansVoice if I had more cash I definitely would try to bring back the savoy
