Dr. Derek Rodriguez: Using a Personal Cancer Journey to Inspire Others to Share Theirs

This Hispanic Heritage Month, we are honoring those who are actively making contributions to Latino health.
Since starting at the Institute for Health Promotion Research at UT Health San Antonio earlier this year, Dr. Derek Rodriguez has helped dozens of Latino cancer survivors tell their stories through his role as program manager for the Avanzando Caminos Hispanic/Latino Cancer Survivorship Study.
While overseeing an esteemed team of research assistants, Rodriguez using his personal experience with cancer to guide the future of Latino cancer research in South Texas.
