I just turned 60 not long ago, so I have have heard a lot of rock and metal music in my life. I never would have expected that the best power metal band to form in the last 10 years would be an all female band from Japan called Lovebites. I have the highest respect for band founder Miho because of her love of old school metal and her ability to assemble some amazing talent. As others have said, any of the videos from that same concert would be excellent choices. I would also suggest two music videos - the mv for When Destinies Align and the mv for Glory to the World.
@@uh8myzen I am now 63 and in September I will be driving more than 1000 miles to see the US debut of Lovebites at ProgPower in Atlanta. I have already seen Band-Maid, Nemophila and Asterism live. Life is good.
Finally the voice teacher reaction to Lovebites. Not many the voice teacher or the singer reaction to the Lovebites. So I glad you reaction to this band. This band is my favorite band right now. I know many people will be blown away with the music and the musicians on this band. But for me, the singer of this band is Fantastic too. She have a beautiful, powerful, rich, and unique voice for me. Thank you so much for this great reaction to Lovebites. Hope more Lovebites song get reaction on this Chanel. Next song from them, try "Edge of the world" or "Glory to the world" Stay safe and keep on lovebiten🤘. Sorry if my English is bad.
My jaw was open 1 word WOW and there dresses are cool blew my mind too you said everything keep rocking big fan you always rock cant wait for next rock vid
Quibble: Unlucky Morpheus are co-ed (2 women, 4 men). But I agree with your main point: Japanese women are flat out _killing_ it in metal these days. And along with bands others have mentioned in this subthread, let me add: Hanabie (brutal "harajukucore"), Ark Royal (powermetal from Sapporo), Hagane (w/ guitar virtuoso Sakura Yoshida), Trident, Oriochi (formerly RagDollz), Pinkish Crown, Saisega (co-ed), Fate Gear (steampunk metal), and many more. This scene has been exploding for a few years now.
Miyako was originally brought in as "support" guitarist for Midori, but they are co-leads. They're the best guitar duo in Metal at this moment in time. They are Fire (Midori) and Ice (Miyako). 🤘💜🐺
Not really - the "support" mention was only used because she was involved in another band at that time - it was obvious from the start that she was as important as Midori for Lovebites but potential legal issues made them use the "support" mention as long as Miyako was part of the other band.
Loved your reaction, would love to see you react to more of what they do, you can checkout their song "Edge of the World" (live) next if you want Miyako was classicaly trained in piano before starting to learn guitar afterwards when she was 18. Asami the singer and Midori the other guitarist can also play piano but they don't do it as much as Miyako. Miyako also is the one who writes the majority of the songs. They are a great metal band, with various genres of metal in their songs, great technical talent, and also great talent at composing and writing songs.
All members of Lovebites make it seem so effortless because they are all such awesomely talented musicians. At the same time as looking like supermodels on the catwalk, Lovebites' members (except Haruna the drummer) performed a full 90 minute plus gig, playing their instruments, moving around the stage, headbanging and changing the pedals on their effects boards while wearing four inch high heels and do not even break sweat. They are definitely the real deal.
《edge of the world》live is another great song to reacts , This song fully demonstrates the singing ability of the lead singer Asami, hope you will check that out😜👍
Miyako is IMO a virtuoso, she doesn’t just play Piano, and guitar, she also plays drums, and bass as well. She composes and arranges most of Lovebites songs, she can speed shred as fast as Midori but where she really shines are her slow burn solo’s. They are so many classical elements in her solos, she is just so good at it! Thank you for reacting to them!
@@mogaman28 Well yes, thats true, I mean technically all music has roots in classical music. But it's not too often that one hears well known classical progressions in Heavy Metal.
They incorporate various elements that were not found in the metal world before. Musically and visually. They are pumping fresh blood into the traditional masculine metal images.
This is what we need to see, more reactions from voice teachers to Lovebites songs. These girls are a treasure to the world of metal music. Do next Edge of the World live at Zepp also. Its amazing beyond words.
Okay, congratulations... you just found the #1 metal band on the planet. You will have lots of fun checking-out all the rest of the music the princesses have given us! You will be amazed at what they can do! And then, you will be part of the wolfpack! Next, you should check out the live performance of the song "Epilogue". You will see the emotional side of LOVEBITES. Also check out: "Empty Daydream", and "Edge of the World". The princesses are: ASAMI - vocals, MIDORI - shred guitar, MIYAKO - guitar and piano, MIHO - bass, and HARUNA - drums. Princess Haruna is loved around the world, for her power and super-CUTENESS! Lovebites is a super-group of top talent... and they are ready to take over the world!
The singer Asami comes from an R&B and Soul background, this is her first time singing in a Metal band. She is also trained in ballet, that would explain her movements and knows a little bit of piano too! Amazing musicianship in the whole band, drummer Haruna keeps it going for 2 hour shows without breaking a sweat! Miyako is kind of a genius, master of piano and guitar AND she also writes the majority of their songs! you have to check out their songs "Edge of the World", "Holy War", "Empty Daydream" and "Epilogue", all LIVE! Thank you! 😀👍
People always mention Asami's R&B and soul background, but they rarely mention that she sang background for at least two rock bands even after LOVEBITE's formation.
I LOVE piano. Here in Brazil we have one of the greatest pianists who is Nelson Freire. I've attended several of his concerts. Hope you've heard of him.
They are mind blowing. They are incredible. I am a lifelong Deep Purple and Dream Theater and Angra fan and these girls stole my heart and they sitting now firmly at the throne. The most efficient, talented, powerful band in the metal world right now. Thank you for reacting and appreciate them. Keep up the journey, please listen and react more to these amazing women. Greetings from Greece.
Welcome to the lair of the Metal Goddesses, the insanely talented band known as Lovebites. Miyako was classically trained from age 3 and didn't pickup the guitar till she was 18. Midori/Blond other guitarist also was trained on the piano/organ but gave it up when she started the guitar at age 20!!! All of these women are petite and wear white dresses and play in high heels so that they can be seen on stage. Asami/vocals (ex-ballerina) never sang metal till she joined this band and comes from a R & B/Jazz/Soul/Gospel background. At 5' she is a little Napoleon who controls the crowd and the stage yet thunders out over the crushing metal sound behind her. Miho/bass/founder and Haruna/drums (BTW is only 4' 9" and plays this way for close to 2 hours and looks like she is just warming up) round out one of the best bands LIVE you will ever hear. Forget genres, these women play Power, Speed, Rock, Prog, Ballads and as you see classical piano but are not bound by any label. Their goal is to have a positive image and message from metal, they look very "girly" but I'll put them up against any male band and see if they can keep up especially if they have to wear high heels (LOL)!! Great reaction and review as always, another song you might like is Empty Daydream LIVE (ua-cam.com/video/lXh_uMM94jU/v-deo.html).
again wrong on the dresses is not to be seen, they use the white dresses to show the opposite of black, leather, metal studs, dark and dreary and doom. They use white outfits to show purity, dignity, honor, respect, and sensible, what makes these ladies stand out and look tall is their musical talent
@Ponyboy Curtis I found this link as they speak about the new EP www.noizze.co.uk/single-post/together-the-music-we-make-is-our-shared-world-view-catching-up-with-lovebites They have changed their concept on the white outfits idea to this: You’ve always had a very strong aesthetic and visual identity. How important is that to you as a band? We’re metal musicians, but we’re sophisticated women first. The white outfits are an expression of our identity, and through our performance, we can display our unique strengths and individual characteristics that make each member shine, and together the music we make is our shared world view. All of this together is a collection of the identities of each of us.
You write that Miyako has only been playing the guitar since she was 18. I have absolutely no idea how old she is to have achieved such skills and virtuosity. You can't learn that in a few years.
You have many more songs to react to Mrs. Love your channel, absolutely adore Lovebites. So please continue down this wonderful rabbit hole of pure wonder. This group is amazing. Now with a new basist Fami. Love from Stockholm Sweden/ J
I'm late! It's so great to see another vocal coach discover this world. Japan is just overflowing with talent, especially in the genres of rock and metal. Her voice is so powerful and her technique is reminiscent of a lot of the music I grew up with. I'd love to see what you think of Saiki from Band-Maid in their song "Wonderland". All the best to you.
I have listen to your reaction 10 times now because your reaction are professional and full with knowledge. You really need to become one of us in the "wolfpack" LOVEBITES fans. I just hade to say, and i hope you find your way to their song Edge of the world (from the same concert. Love (bites) from Sweden.
I've seen some of your reactions on Dimash and I'm pleasantly surprised to see you react on the "Lovebites" group. This is a band as you have seen with incredible talent. Now, you may or may not be a fan of this kind of music, but those who know music know where the talent is, no matter what style of music is played. I hope to see you again on other Lovebites tracks.
Helloooo, these girls are all talented. They have more than 50 songs and none of them are mediocre, even their most powemetal songs, they have elegance, they are impressive. I recommend that you react to a beautiful ballad that LOVEBITES - epilogue-live 2019 has, look for it like this, it is a work of song art. A big hug
I think you're the first vocal coach I've seen react to Lovebites, which is appropriate as you were the first vocal coach I ever watched a reaction video from. It's great to see, especially with your obvious musical knowledge. As you recognised, they're all absolutely world class at what they do, although some songs showcase this more than others (this being a prime example). To see some other showcases, you could try the live versions of Edge of the World (a song with many changes showing all sides of Lovebites and with a stunning vocal opening from Asami), Holy War (a harder, more driving song where Asami really belts it out) and Empty Daydream (which has the best backing vocals of any Lovebites song, along with a Rachmaninov piano intro from Miyako). Happy listening!
Great reaction. Miyako started piano at 3 years old. She even plays piano and guitar together in some songs. They are all amazing. My favorite band at this moment. “Edge of the world” is a great one next. Thank you for this reaction.
The lyrics are so beutiful.. anyway, thank you very much for reacting to this masterpiece👍🏻 I'm waiting for your next reaction😁 hope you have a great day!✌🏻
Metalmadman said it best but I will add that Miyako pianist/guitarist was classically trained since she was just 3 years old but didn’t start playing until she turned 18 (she’s in her 30’s now) a truly gifted young woman she has even played both guitar and piano at the same time I think you might like the other video’s that metalmadman suggested…LOVEBITES don’t disappoint with all their talent and I’m sure you’re students will enjoy this band too
The whole concert is a revelation. When I was this concert I knew I think about three tracks from these ladies. In my opinion this is one of the best live gigs ever committed to media.
It is interesting when you talk about the corset because it brought back a memory to me of watching Julia Lezhneva singing Handel's " Da tempeste" in a corset and her control was amazing! I had a conversation with a opera singer trainer from Russia regarding this and was in essence explaining the ins and outs of breath control using a corset! Spot on in your analysis!!
I may came little late to listen your reaction ( 2 years after) But i have loved your reaction to that girls metal band really much Your reaction was right 100%..
I've loved your reviews of some of the European symphonic metal bands, and always hoped you would hop over here to check out the Japanese scene. Yes, this is a mind-blowing band. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels sent to save us, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. They have themselves said in interviews that part of their mission is to save heavy metal from darkness and obscurity. Some background: They were formed from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief metalhead and soul of the band) recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuke”); they went and found the two guitarists, Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands, and the whole group then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time. Miho and Miyako compose most of their music, in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer, but Midori has also been getting into the act. Asami writes a lot of the lyrics. They have only been around for just shy of 5 years. They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Slayer etc. and they pretty much aced it all. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and it seems clear they’re taking it to another level. This is an unusual first song for reactors, but perfect for you because you are so classically grounded. Miyako wrote “Swan Song” using elements from several classical pieces including the “Revolutionary Etude”. They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash, and almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel. Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. (As another reactor said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band.") You should next check out “Holy War” live: ua-cam.com/video/bgAxpEpEcno/v-deo.html Other live songs to check out are "Rising" ua-cam.com/video/Y_jrhzzcuRU/v-deo.html "Edge of the World" ua-cam.com/video/FGRxXCDtRFA/v-deo.html And "We the United" ua-cam.com/video/8Xucyl_GbGY/v-deo.html These last two should be done back to back, as they were actually performed in the concert, because they form an incredible journey from darkness and despair to light and hope. For a heart-stopping ballad, “Epilogue” ua-cam.com/video/1ynnXDfEnnY/v-deo.html (this includes a second song, your choice whether or not to react to both) "When Destinies Align" ua-cam.com/video/hLFelI93VkM/v-deo.html "Glory to the World" ua-cam.com/video/-wJtD2XEXH4/v-deo.html and "Winds of Transylvania" ua-cam.com/video/HsE4Ub_Pjh8/v-deo.html. You can’t go wrong with any of their official clips. I hope you do more reviews of Lovebites (and other Japanese female metal bands). They are completely re-imagining what metal is all about. You'll get lots of suggestions, just one thing: don't bother with Bloodstock footage, the sound quality is poor. Best to take suggestions with actual links. Welcome to the Wolf-Pack!
Both Haruna the drummer and Miho the bassist were in a previous group called Destrose, that bands former members went on to form this and 2 other top Japanese Metal bands Mary's Blood and Fate Geer. If you haven't sent Band Maid check out their lives performances. And if you are looking for more Check out Aldious, Sweet Temptation, to hear some excellent singing Reno the singer has an amazing range
Well Your husband have to see the musicvideo Glory to the world with Lovebites toghether with You. It is a masterpiece! Drumvise Haruna is on another level in that song! And Asami's voice in that song.. Oh my god! And if you want a really epic guitarsolo When destinies align is the song. And even if they sing in english put on the subtitles on their official musicvideos.....! Happymetal 2.0
so impressive, how miyako seems to become one with the piano ( even though she doesn´t like the plastic keyboard of the roland). I love this band so much.
Miyako is impressive right? Wait until you see she played both guitar and keyboard at the same time.. 😂 The song is called Burden of Time.. See the studio live.. ua-cam.com/video/4OBf_Gn8efs/v-deo.html Since you said your husband is a drummer you should show Lovebites to him.. Haruna is called "Pocket Nuke" from some of the fans..
Your insight into both the piano and vocal side of the music was great to hear. Right now Lovebites is the pride of the current day heavy metal scene in Japan, and in my opinion a world class heavy metal band. They call back to the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, but also mix in their own influences, some modern, some not so modern (like the Chopin references here). I definitely agree with your assessment of the band as a whole. In particular I'm a fan of Miyako (Guitar, Piano, composer), and I'm sure after seeing that performance, you are too. :) Asami (Vocals), Miho (bass), Midori (Guitar), and Haruna (drums) are all superbly talented musicians and I'm glad you gave each one of them a wonderful amount of praise. If you liked what you saw here, I'd recommend the title track from their latest EP, Glory, Glory to the World. You'll see more of their stellar musicianship, and the intensity they show you on stage they definitely bring to their music videos as well. Glory to the World ua-cam.com/video/-wJtD2XEXH4/v-deo.html
Welcomed to the mind-blowing world of Lovebites. These women are so talented, skillful and great musicians. They really shine in their live performances. You, as a vocal coach, might like to react to the songs “Empty daydream”, “Epilogue” and “Edge of the world” (all live)
LOVEBITES - Swan Song lyrics: If this was the last day you could live on this earth World you still go on, accusing someone for today It’s better to fail than not do anything at all It is not the length, but depth of life that counts Oh brave soldier Oh gallant warrior Valor to those who died in battle to Valhalla Believe what’s in your soul For death will come to all You shall rest peacefully in God’s Heaven Floating lotus You are so graceful Saintly and glorious Till the end of time Floating lotus You are so beautiful Sing me your sweet song The legend of the swan If you’ve never hoped, you’ve never been though despair Ignorance is bliss, it’s easier to not care You might think it’s meaningless to sacrifice a life Sometimes the life of one can save so many more Oh brave soldier Oh gallant warrior Valor to those who died in battle to Valhalla Believe what’s in your soul For death will come to all You shall rest peacefully in God’s Heaven Floating lotus You are so graceful Saintly and glorious Till the end of time Floating lotus You are so beautiful Sing me your sweet song The legend of the swan Floating lotus You are so graceful Saintly and glorious Till the end of time Floating lotus You are so beautiful Sing me your sweet song The legend of the swan ----- lyrics: asami music: miyako arrangement: LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami)
The singer, Asami, did ballet since she was two years old, and she did dancing jobs before Lovebites. That is why she moves so graceful around the stage. She also sang Soul before this, that's how they found her for their band, she didn't even know what heavy metal was before joining Lovebites. And Miyako what to say, you already watched it. I think their producers put her in a lot of projects where they put her there because she looked hot, that she does, and it was not until Lovebites that everything around her is more centered on her expression as an artist. And how good she is, how no one saw it before. I liked this video a lot, very interesting to see a knowledgeable person on music out of the japanese metal world appreciating Lovebites. I remember you doing Babymetal some time ago and it was also a good video. If you want to check more Lovebites I encourage you to see *Edge of the World.* Salutations from Barcelona.
Another great one where Asami's Vocals soar is Holy Wars, Rising, Break the Wall, and Edge of the World. Break the wall is very very heavy but has a slow down Miyako slow-burn solo in the middle.
Asami's visual performance comes from having ballet training that I think is quite obvious in how she moves on stage. I second the request for their song "Edge of the World" from that same live performance!
Chopin, Tchaykovski, Dvorak mixed with power metal in one box it gives masterpiece. Lovebites the team of five thrashpower metal godesses. You just discovered an amazing talent in Miyako and everyone else in this band - Asami on vocals, Haruna on drums, Midori on guitar and Miho, the leader, on bass. Asami has a background as a ballerina which is where her body movements and arm motions come from. They are so skilled that all of their songs are amazing. They play some songs that are a lot heavier and they also play songs similar to this one. For your next Lovebites reaction, please do "Edge of the World" the live version. Here is the link to use: ua-cam.com/video/FGRxXCDtRFA/v-deo.html
Great reaction. Lovebites are incredible. Miyako and Zmidori are some of best guitarists out there. Miyako is a concert pianist. Miyako records all the piano, keyboard backing tracks. Try their song Burden of time - live studio. ( Miyako plays guitar with left hand, while playing piano with right hand, same time). Holy war, Edge of the world great songs to listen, Asamis vocals shine in these.
My taste in music is very high, today there are many Bands and singers with good vocals without good musicians, I like watching musicians and vocalists do crazy things on stage with their skills. 😁✌
MIYAKO plays Guitar also piano at the same time. LOVEBITES - Burden of Time clip Miyako/Midori keyboard/guitar harmony a short clip. this one is live on stage
I have learned a lot about breath support in the past year, and I understand why you prefer to call it breath energy. In the past I totally disagreed with you, now I think it makes sense.
Great reaction, if you want to see something amazing, react to Lovebites " Burden of time" where Miyako play in the same time electric piano with the right hand and the guitar with the left hand, or "Epilogue" where she changes five time the instrument in the same song. Another song where Miyako play Rachmaninoff at the beginning is "Empty daydream", in this song Asamy demonstrates all her vocal skills, tanks!
Great"first"reaction to this Amazing (Power Thrash Heavy Metalband) Lovebites 👍I really enjoy It ! IMHO Lovebites are the BEST all Female Metalband nowadays . Swan Song is a real Masterpiece for me Thank you and stay save
I think you will really appreciate Asami, the vocalist, on two songs in particular. Epilogue and Edge of the World. Both have been recorded from this venue, Zepp Diver City Tokyo. Epilogue is from the 2019 gig which came to DVD/BluRay as “Daughters of the Dawn”. The best available recording of Edge of the World is from this same gig you’ve just seen, released as “5 of a Kind”. Both show the band’s incredible musicianship and both show Asami’s full range. Thank you for appreciating my favourite singer from my favourite band. Any and all publicity they receive is, I’m sure you’ll agree, fully deserved.
Hi. I follows your reaction since LAra Fabian, Angelina Jordan, or Dimash Kudaibergen. so happy to discover you also like metal. i'm a fan of rock since 1980 and this band is really magic. Lovebites are Highly influenced by classical music. it appears in almost all their songs. but it's more visible in some like this one. in the song Empty daydream, the piano intro is from Rachmaninov (you can find the live video easily). but for me the most interesting one ( on this particular point ) is Dystopia Symphony. you can't find it live because it has only been played once in 2021 in Nagoya city and no record of it. but you can find the audio on UA-cam ( one even with the lyrics ). in this song they literally integrated parts of Beethoven sonatas ( moonlight and Pathetic ) in the music. the song itself is about Beethoven sorrow and anger when he realizes he is becoming deaf. i'm a little long about it because for me this particular song is one of the most underrated masterpiece of Lovebites
A great review. About her corset, try some piece from their studio live Awake Again from Abyss to see how Asami the singer does in her casual clothing...Eagle Fly Free Helloween cover might be your choice since she sustains and raise her voice at the very epic end. about Piano, try Rising live at Zepp Diver City 2020 version. Miyako the guitar/pianist switches from guitar to piano and back to guitar again, rhythm from metal to waltz and back to metal again. You can hear when she stops playing guitar and starts to play piano, and can watch her flips back her guitar from her back to the position. It is so smooth and quick without missing a single beat as if she is playing the same one instrument in the same rhythm. And also try Empty Daydream live Daughters of Dawn 2019 version as someone says down below, it has got a magnificent piano intro. Studio recorded album version doesn't have that intro. Again I enjoyed you review very much.
Yo, sin ser un profesional musicalmente hablando he de reconocer que si algo me hace florecer sentimientos no lo dudo que merece la pena escuchar, gracias
Japanese music culture is so diverse, I'm not a metalhead but I'm addicted to Japanese heavy music and I love all type of Japanese music. I Love you Show-Ya, Aldious, Destrose, Mary's Blood, Cyntia, Bridear, Gacharic Spin, Anarchy Stone, BABYMETAL, Lovebites, Nemophila, Shonen Knife, The 5,6,7,8's, Princess Princess, Zone, Scandal, Silent Siren, Band-Maid, Raise A Suilen, Roselia, Morning Musume, PERFUME, Momoiro Clover Z, Dempagumi.inc, Passcode, BiSH, Mariya Takeuchi, Ringo Sheena, Reol, Hatsune Miku, Megurine Luka, Rin Kagamine, Maximum The Hormone, Wagakki Band! Thank you Japan!!!! #MusicJapanForever
Great comment, carry on, tons to go, they're the best today, all talented musician, I suggest you to check Break The Wall, live version, how they pour 2 guitars nicely with different genre, amazing, thank you
Great reaction :) I would really appreciate if you could react to my two favorite japanese female singers 🙏🏻 Fuki is the singer of Unlucky Morpheus and the song is "Dignity of Spirit" official live video Saiki is the singer of BAND-MAID and the song is "Wonderland" official live video Thank you
Great review! Miyako is a phenom! There are people who work their entire lives to get to that level on piano, and there are people who work their entire lives to get to that level on guitar, and she's at that level on both instruments, and she's only in her early 30s! Piano is her primary talent, having been playing since age 3, and she only picked up the guitar at 18. Although this video showcases Miyako, the other guitarist Midori is actually the technically more proficient guitarist! I don't want to say "better," because they play entirely different styles. Midori's guitar background is in classical music, before she switched to metal in her 20s (she also had some training on classical piano, but not nearly at Miyako's level). Her style is more technical, more speed-oriented, and more classical in nature, comparable to Yngwie Malmsteen. By contrast, Miyako is a more soulful and emotional player, and she loves doing bluesy and experimental techniques in the style of Eddie Van Halen and Gary Moore. Their stage personas balance each other, with Midori being a more flashy performer, but a more technical player; whereas Miyako is a much more reserved and focused performer, but a much more emotional player. Vocalist Asami comes from an R&B background, and is also a pianist (probably the next best pianist in the group, behind Miyako), as well as being the main lyricist. She lived for a few years in California, and writes and sings almost exclusively in English, which is unusual for a Japanese band, though not unheard of. She's also a trained ballet dancer, which is where her elegant stage presence comes from. The rhythm section of Miho (bass) and Haruna (drums) are both also multi-instrumentalists, and are the founders of the band, with Miho serving as band leader. I'm pretty sure Haruna actually has two separate brains, one for each hand, lol! Because she keeps some pretty crazy times and rhythms! Believe it or not, Haruna is only 4'9", and the rest of the members aren't a whole lot taller!
Lovebites is great. Another fantastic J-female band is Band-Maid. More rock than metal. Very diverse in their songs. Drummer Akane is a thing to behold. Check out live versions of "Freedom" and "Domination" for starters.
Since you enjoyed "Swan Song" so much, I HIGHLY recommend you also react to "Burden of Time" (ua-cam.com/video/4OBf_Gn8efs/v-deo.html). Another Lovebites song where Miyako will blow your mind... again.
You just got a taste. You'll want to consume the whole meal. These musicians are a cut above the rest. Don't take my word for it, listen to what they do.
Other great Lovebites songs to react to are Thunder Vengeance, Dancing With The Devil, Don't Bite The Dust, The Apocalypse, and The Unbroken. It would also be great if you could react to Iron Maiden with Paul Di'Anno.
I was not a Metal fan. But I can not stop watching them.
They are 5 goddess for me.
You don't even have to be a metal fan, to love LOVEBITES. They will get you. And then you will be part of the wolfpack!
@@TheCyberMantis thank you
I discovered these incredible ladies a few days ago and OMG!, I haven't been this excited about a band since I discovered Nightwish.
Next...Lovebites "edge of the world" live
Great reaction , Lovebites , amazing female metal band , amazing musicians , amazing , Miyako , greetings from Chile .The best Lovebites , Dimash ,
I just turned 60 not long ago, so I have have heard a lot of rock and metal music in my life.
67 here. I totally agree!
61 here. I drive a lot for work and Lovebites on shuffle keeps me chilled out lol
I'm only 50, but I 100% agree. For me, Japan in general is churning out some great metal bands these days.
@@uh8myzen I am now 63 and in September I will be driving more than 1000 miles to see the US debut of Lovebites at ProgPower in Atlanta. I have already seen Band-Maid, Nemophila and Asterism live. Life is good.
@@danw6048 I've got to tell you, I'm a little jealous. They are all great bands that I've been dying to see live since learning about them.
Next song from them, try "Edge of the world" or "Glory to the world"
Stay safe and keep on lovebiten🤘.
Sorry if my English is bad.
My jaw was open 1 word WOW and there dresses are cool blew my mind too you said everything keep rocking big fan you always rock cant wait for next rock vid
Japan have the best All female Metal - Hard Rock bands period. Nemophila, Lovebites, Band Maid, Aldius, Unlucky Morpheus etc etc etc
I can't mention the Japanese music scene without mentioning GALNERYUS and WAGAKKI BAND.
( Japan is the future of real music! )
someone said..the rock didn't die..they just live in japan
@@TheCyberMantis Mary's Blood n Bridear too.
@@DavidKAnderson Yeah, I like Yukina from Hanabie. And I also like Sakura from Hagane, and Nana from Fate Gear!
Miyako was originally brought in as "support" guitarist for Midori, but they are co-leads. They're the best guitar duo in Metal at this moment in time. They are Fire (Midori) and Ice (Miyako). 🤘💜🐺
Oh, I like your words "Fire and Ice" . Ain't that dead true !!
Not really - the "support" mention was only used because she was involved in another band at that time - it was obvious from the start that she was as important as Midori for Lovebites but potential legal issues made them use the "support" mention as long as Miyako was part of the other band.
Amen
Loved your reaction, would love to see you react to more of what they do, you can checkout their song "Edge of the World" (live) next if you want
Miyako was classicaly trained in piano before starting to learn guitar afterwards when she was 18. Asami the singer and Midori the other guitarist can also play piano but they don't do it as much as Miyako. Miyako also is the one who writes the majority of the songs.
They are a great metal band, with various genres of metal in their songs, great technical talent, and also great talent at composing and writing songs.
Welcome to the world of LOVEBITES. By the way Miyako is classical trained on piano
Oh my... Her piano made me cry. How talented is this woman 😭😭😭
《edge of the world》live is another great song to reacts , This song fully demonstrates the singing ability of the lead singer Asami, hope you will check that out😜👍
She needs to check out "Epilogue" also. To see the emotional side of LOVEBITES.
Make sure they are all "Live Versions" and not studio recordings.
Thank you for react to one of my favorite bands👍
Miyako is IMO a virtuoso, she doesn’t just play Piano, and guitar, she also plays drums, and bass as well. She composes and arranges most of Lovebites songs, she can speed shred as fast as Midori but where she really shines are her slow burn solo’s. They are so many classical elements in her solos, she is just so good at it! Thank you for reacting to them!
"so many classical elements" Well, after all Classic music is Heavy Metal without distortion pedals.
@@mogaman28 Well yes, thats true, I mean technically all music has roots in classical music. But it's not too often that one hears well known classical progressions in Heavy Metal.
@@christopherlidster3918 Nothing more metal than Bach!
It's Chopin!!
@@rolandkarlsson7072
They incorporate various elements that were not found in the metal world before. Musically and visually. They are pumping fresh blood into the traditional masculine metal images.
All members of Lovebites are musicians trained since they childhood beginning to learn instruments in average 5 years old.
HARUNA !!! HARUNA !!! HARUNA !!!
MIHO !!! MIHO !!! MIHO !!!

@@Wirmish They can do so much more than just power-metal. Might as well say they are the #1 BAND on the planet!
LOVEBITES..LOVEBITES..LOVEBITES..LOVEBITES....................🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
@@PaleHorseShabuShabu I didnt know this, thanks for the info!
Dancing With The Devil is a killer song too.
I LOVE piano. Here in Brazil we have one of the greatest pianists who is Nelson Freire. I've attended several of his concerts. Hope you've heard of him.
LOTS of amazing musicians are coming out of Brazil.
Holy War is such a dichotomy as Asami does her elegant balletish moves while the rest of the band is crushing your head.
Also be interesting to hear your husbands take on Haruna the drummer.
Finally a "reactor" who knows exactly where to pause a song! :)
And how can one not love Lovebites?
@Ponyboy Curtis really can you direct me to this interview so I can read it as well
@Ponyboy Curtis I found this link as they speak about the new EP www.noizze.co.uk/single-post/together-the-music-we-make-is-our-shared-world-view-catching-up-with-lovebites
They have changed their concept on the white outfits idea to this:
You’ve always had a very strong aesthetic and visual identity.
Fabulous reaction and comments!
Really love your Lovebites reactions!
Thank you, see you next.
Haruna's secret is incredible efficiency of movement. She does this for almost two hours at a time and never looks tired.
She's relentless...the pocket nuclear reactor!
NIce observations, thanks for this react, I hope that you do more Lovebites
You have many more songs to react to Mrs. Love your channel, absolutely adore Lovebites. So please continue down this wonderful rabbit hole of pure wonder. This group is amazing. Now with a new basist Fami.
Love from Stockholm Sweden/ J
Miyako is a quiet mad genius who composes much of their music.
This is really the chip of the iceberg of amazing all female bands coming out of Japan right now.
Thank you for your great reaction to LOVEBITES.
I recommend their pop side songs as Liar, Inspire & Empty daydream🎵
I have listen to your reaction 10 times now because your reaction are professional and full with knowledge.
You really need to become one of us in the "wolfpack" LOVEBITES fans. I just hade to say, and i hope you find your way to their song Edge of the world (from the same concert. Love (bites) from Sweden.
An amazing fact about Miyako is that she was classically trained on piano at a young age but only picked up the guitar at 19.
A big hug
Please react to Lovebites Burden of Times studio version you will see Miyako play two instrument at the same time.
The lyrics are so beutiful..
anyway, thank you very much for reacting to this masterpiece👍🏻
I'm waiting for your next reaction😁
hope you have a great day!✌🏻
Metalmadman said it best but I will add that Miyako pianist/guitarist was classically trained since she was just 3 years old but didn’t start playing until she turned 18 (she’s in her 30’s now) a truly gifted young woman she has even played both guitar and piano at the same time I think you might like the other video’s that metalmadman suggested…LOVEBITES don’t disappoint with all their talent and I’m sure you’re students will enjoy this band too
The whole concert is a revelation.
That drummer (Haruna) is another breed. She is nuclear powered and can keep this tempo for a whole concert.
Some background:
They were formed from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981).
(As another reactor said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band.")
You should next check out “Holy War” live: ua-cam.com/video/bgAxpEpEcno/v-deo.html
Other live songs to check out are "Rising" ua-cam.com/video/Y_jrhzzcuRU/v-deo.html
"Edge of the World" ua-cam.com/video/FGRxXCDtRFA/v-deo.html
And "We the United" ua-cam.com/video/8Xucyl_GbGY/v-deo.html
These last two should be done back to back, as they were actually performed in the concert, because they form an incredible journey from darkness and despair to light and hope.
For a heart-stopping ballad, “Epilogue” ua-cam.com/video/1ynnXDfEnnY/v-deo.html (this includes a second song, your choice whether or not to react to both)
"When Destinies Align" ua-cam.com/video/hLFelI93VkM/v-deo.html

Very happy and thanks for reacting to these amazingly talented and lovely ladies. Absolutely loved your reaction. 👍
Asami has R&B and Soul/ Blues background and this is her first time singing metal. She is astonishing.

Great reaction, with knowledge and understanding, totally on point. And blown away, like us all...
Miyako is impressive right? Wait until you see she played both guitar and keyboard at the same time.. 😂

Since you said your husband is a drummer you should show Lovebites to him.. Haruna is called "Pocket Nuke" from some of the fans..
She's been playing Piano since she was 3. picked up guitar at the age of 16. I do believe she picked drums in her first band. So yeah, she is amazing.
the singer Asami is also a ballet dancer/ song writer and can also
play the piano.
Miyako can play just about any instrument.

LOVEBITES - Swan Song lyrics:
If this was the last day you could live on this earth
World you still go on, accusing someone for today
It’s better to fail than not do anything at all
It is not the length, but depth of life that counts
Oh brave soldier
Oh gallant warrior
Valor to those who died in battle to Valhalla
Believe what’s in your soul
For death will come to all
You shall rest peacefully in God’s Heaven
Floating lotus
You are so graceful
Saintly and glorious
Till the end of time
Floating lotus
You are so beautiful
Sing me your sweet song
The legend of the swan
If you’ve never hoped, you’ve never been though despair
Ignorance is bliss, it’s easier to not care
You might think it’s meaningless to sacrifice a life
Sometimes the life of one can save so many more
Oh brave soldier
Oh gallant warrior
Valor to those who died in battle to Valhalla
Believe what’s in your soul
For death will come to all
You shall rest peacefully in God’s Heaven
Floating lotus
You are so graceful
Saintly and glorious
Till the end of time

You are so beautiful
Sing me your sweet song

lyrics: asami
music: miyako
arrangement: LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami)
If you want to check more Lovebites I encourage you to see *Edge of the World.*
Salutations from Barcelona.
Great reaction to a superb performance.
Chopin, Tchaykovski, Dvorak mixed with power metal in one box it gives masterpiece.
Lovebites the team of five thrashpower metal godesses.
Asami🎤 R&B, jazz, soul, metal, rock singer, lyrics, (only English all songs one is exeption in Japanesse language) she trained ballet.
Haruna 🥁one of the best drummer worldwide, founder, (PEARL drums)
Miho🎸 bass guitar boss of the band, lyrics, founder, back singer, (ESP_JAZZ guitar)
Midori🎸 lead, rythm guitar, spanish guitar, back singer, (ESP guitar)
Miyako🎸 lead, rythm guitar, spanish guitar, piano, keybord, back singer, main composer but all Ladies compose. (DEAN guitar, GIBSON guitar) classic influences, piano virtuoso

This woman has seen the light and totally gets it. Welcome to the Wolfpack. 🙏
Tyvm for this reaction. Your love of music shines through.
MIYAKO plays Guitar also piano at the same time. LOVEBITES - Burden of Time clip Miyako/Midori keyboard/guitar harmony a short clip. this one is live on stage
Asami is the singer and she studied ballet since the age of 2, which she uses those moves in her performance.
Edge of the World
Please next THUNDER VENGEANCE or HOLY WAR Live
Lovebites Scream for Me live Daughters of the Dawn. If you want to see an amazing song.
Yo, sin ser un profesional musicalmente hablando he de reconocer que si algo me hace florecer sentimientos no lo dudo que merece la pena escuchar, gracias

MIYAKO About the MYK Studio MIYAKO #LOVEBITES | I grew up with this Grand Piano Turn on EngSubs][Part3]
Yes it is.
Great comment, carry on, tons to go, they're the best today, all talented musician, I suggest you to check Break The Wall, live version, how they pour 2 guitars nicely with different genre, amazing, thank you
Great reaction :)
I would really appreciate if you could react to my two favorite japanese female singers 🙏🏻
Fuki is the singer of Unlucky Morpheus and the song is "Dignity of Spirit" official live video
Saiki is the singer of BAND-MAID and the song is "Wonderland" official live video
Thank you
Great review!
The drummer does not use a double kick setup. Those are both feet going at one time. Near the end, the singer went into the Swan Lake dance.
Lovebites is great. Another fantastic J-female band is Band-Maid. More rock than metal. Very diverse in their songs. Drummer Akane is a thing to behold. Check out live versions of "Freedom" and "Domination" for starters.
You should give Band Maid a listen.
