I don't mind certain things being easier but that doesn't give the balance team a reason to punish good Lee's for it, I never thought of Lee as a character that has to be difficult I picked him up coz I loved everything about him I understand why people love him for the execution. I'm still gonna main my boy but they did us dirty
Lee Chaolan, a character that needs damage buffs, only got nerfs.
And I don't really know if I'm going to use him in Season 3, not because of the changes he got.

I think his damage is good ....bcoz he has insane wall carry and on wall he does good damage...on every launch he has the capability to get the wall combo....he is not nerfed at all ....they have not touched his powerful effective tools and ff3 buff is also huge and power crush was actually broken ...i used to spam that move...overall he is buffed

Overall his garbage which is why he doesnt appear in tournaments unless its fightinggm and he says the same has to juggle him with Geese...
@@Abyssosdarkos😂..garbage range....i think you are taking about uf 4 and df 2....good lee players dont use those moves a lot....b 4 into mist step , 1+2, 44, df1 are his core moves as he is good at Ch and keep out . These moves have good range ....and i dont use uf 4 to wiff punish instead i use f33334 it is 15 frame and has a very good range ...regarding his lows d444, d3 ,slide, db 3+4 , even db 3 they all have good range....and ff 3 hits from the another side of the screen now its even faster 😂... I dont know whats your problem with his range....i think most of the lee players dont know how to play lee effectively....i dont know why people are crying for the insignificant nerfs....i dont even use these useless moves...and the only guy who really know how to play lee effectively was and maybe is HELPME from south korea...know one uses b4 better than him and his offence in close range was also the best with lee...and yeah most people say lee is garbage because he is hard and playstyle is also very different ...and in t5 t6 he had the best combos in the game but now every character has good combos

He just needed more tools to give him an advantage in the neutral imo, but they nerfed that. Instead that gave him combo tools, which he never needed. I just don’t understand the direction they’re going with him. If there is one at all...
It's the same with Katarina too, she needed more neutral tools and damage nerfs.
Rest could have been kept the same with no change but no they nerfed the damage and her neutral.
I'm not a Lee player, but maybe the easier combos at cost of other nerfs was an attempt to make him easier to play in stressful tournament settings? As good as people are at execution, under pressure even the top players drop bnb combos.
First of all, this doesn't change combo difficulty, since if you're scared of dropping b2 chains, you can just instantly do iws2 4 which you will basically never drop, and you only lose 3 dmg and get more wall splat flexibility.
Second, they didn't really do much for making tourney situations easier. ff4 CH used to have a relatively simple pickup, then a harder pickup in S2, then not even the CH crumple in S3. Now you have to do the dash in b3 3 on both hit and CH, which is definitely something you can easily screw up in tourney. To add to that, the timing on blazing kick after acid rain is also much more strict, another thing that doesn't help.
Poking of the character got worse, poking comes before combos in tournaments.
And I'myourfather and fightingGM have been doing great lately in tournaments.

@@IAMOP really they (lee players) did great? cuz i cant remember last time i saw a lee in a big tournament top 8. FightingGM is good lets say in an american environment but he is nothing but a feeder when koreans japanese or more recently arslan and the company comes into play.
Cry and bitch about lowering his execution all you want the fact that you never ever saw a lee anywhere near a top 8 in a stacked tournament speaks miles that he needed adjustments.
Time will tell if the adjustments were good or bad.
Last year around this time people claimed kazumi was dead and there came arslan sweeping the fk out of the tekken world.

There is a reason we see characters with great poking, lows or have moves they can through out without consequence do well in tournaments.
Improving his combo game or FF+3 execution doesn't resolve any of this.
The above tweaks barely add anything to the character and they go and nerf his d3 and df2.

I’m highly upset. Lee is everything and I put hours in this character and was not doing the most high damaging combos but my b2 game was solid. That’s all I needed. The fact his d3 list it’s tracking is unacceptable. He requires too much skill to be nerfed. I was just about to make a stance guide. This seems weird cause I have the same background music playing in the back right now while customizing in ttt2. Rip Lee

How much range did his df2 lose? I can't notice a difference and that wasn't mentioned in the patch notes. The notes also mentioned increased forward range on f3. Seems like it might have more range but I'm not sure.
This is unfortunate cause his new move won't be usefull to me so they just nerfed him
And gave these all most useless buffes for people who want to pick lee and after they master him these buffs will be trash for them too

They took out one of the best aspects of playing lee. His combos are quite challenging but that makes him so fun to play. They couldve just added his damage or his frames better but no, they nerfed him to death. This is some bs.

But than i look at real pros like jdcr knee qudans etc and even they drop combos in tournaments on situations which actually requires less execution than some of lee's actions and i realize just how full of shit and full of worthless elitism all these crying elitist lee players are in this video

Again there are far weaker characters that have done much better than lee solely based on the fact that their tools have a lower fail rate and lower chance for the player to fuck it up.
I am completely baffled not by the nerfs but the fact that a character that is already so hard to play gets nerfed and Dragunov gets a i12 wall bounce.

I thought I was going mad when Lee's df+2 didn't reach every time I restarted the stage in practice mode!! That hidden nerf was so unnecessary :'(

It used to reach from default reset position, Lee players already got used to the launch distance so it leaving opponent close is not even a buff.

For those who wanna pick up and learn Lee, welcome but the Old Dogs are getting punished. No need for push back nerfs. Lee wasn't even a tourney character to begin with to get such nerfs.
Also like F3 Revolution Zwei, or 4 4 3 can be blocked or evaded after the first move hits, sometimes even as a counter. Alot of moves lee can get punished after hitting the opponent as he recovers slower... e.g. WS 3 3 in to mid kick.
Lee definitely get nerfed on his cheesy options (even though removing the wall splat for acid rain and 0 tracking for d3 is still too much imo..) but he gain new awesome combo potential and oki thanks to his bitch slap f41 and ff3 i14.
f41 does 2 less damage than iws24 but give much more consistency for combo.
You can do three b2f into f41 and f21 (and WR34) is way easier to connect.
The best thing is you can do a regular combo with one b2f into f41 and it gives you enough time to do a dash b4 into d3 (or even ff3 if they try to get up)
They could whiff it by doing the springkick though.. But if you are offaxis or a little far from the opponent, springkick will also whiff so it's a free hopkick. :D
It's also more easier to do techtrap by jumping behind them and do d1, ws23 combo.
It's even possible to do 4 b2f into f41 with a quick SSR at the beginning and finish with f21, really hard but it got absurd wall carry.
And at wall, this is where the fun begin..
With his new wallbound safe, he become much more threatening to deals with.
If he is behind the wall, his punch parry will be really dangerous thanks to his PP4 which is now guaranteed and wallsplat which give him a good combo.
The wallsplat combo is also buffed with his new ff3
Before, doing ub3 after f43 was risky cuz they could get up U and block it which leaves him at -13
But with ff3 i14, if they any get up including wake up kick, ff3 will always hit the opponent for the same damage than ub3
If they stay grounded, ff3 will whiff and leaves you at -12 if they are quick to react and punish.
Against that, ub3 or f3+4,WS3 is garanteed
If they sideroll, ub3 will hit them
So now there is a good mixup for oki and this is great !

Lee wasnt present in tournament specifically because the execution and precision needed simply wasnt worth the effort.
With almost every other character u could literally learn bnb combos in a few hours than focus your practice efforrs in learning matchups punishers etc but with lee by the time you get 75% cinsistency with combos almost every other player will already know how to deal with your lee while you still dont have a clue about the other characters.
People may claim is fun practicing for hours upon hours to learn combos but when a tournament aspect comes into play lee automatically is dismissed as not worth the effort.
I like lee's fighting style due to how freaking flashy it is and although i still wont play him im looking forward seeing people use him more in tournaments now

I am new to tekken and tekken 7 is my first and I find it hard to learn new characters it is like I dont know where to start😂 I started in s2 and now if I want to lern new characters it is really hard with all these changes any help on how to start learning new characters
First thing I do is learn the basic combo filler for launchers like df2 or hopkick.
I usually pick the geometric stage and do combos for a bit to get a feel of the character.
Next I check the movelist to find any interesting moves
Check their 10f and 12f punishers and while standing punishment.
After that I just play with friends to get used to the character.

I honestly miss the crumple stun off of CH ff4, aside from ff3 getting a slight buff(I play pad so ws2,3 into ff3 was always tough for me) I wish 1,3,3,3 was easier to hit and more consistent(I can do 4-5 ewgf's in my sleep but doing 1,3,3,3 feels like my fingers are about to fall off) Overall I feel like Lee mains are so accustomed to making due with Lee to the point where f4,1 and being able to go into mist step after certain moves doesn't really help with the flaws Lee has especially after the nerfs he received too
I play on pad too, practice dash jabbing with characters like noctis and Kazumi in combos.
Ff inputs will become easier, my season 2 ff+3 was very consistent.
As a person who decided to secondary Lee this season I find this sad. On one side I was learning b+2 mist step canceling mid combo sorting out the timing (I'm bad at it but overall still learning I main Julia for the most part.) I look at these needs and "additions" and I feel like if they increased the damage or decreased combo scaling for Lee's b+2 juggle it would give people incentive to do it. I'm not totally against them adding a noob friendly option but at the end of the day I think Harada needs to do Lee mains justice and reward them for his effort. I really don't care what tier he lands in I just want this man to to feel just as excellent when you pull off difficult execution. It really bothers me that after mastering or perfecting your execution almost to the levels of "Mishima" absurdity that your reward pales in comparison.
Ahame they've nerfed him. He's the closest thing to Baek for me (more so than hwoarang) and I've been struggling to pick him up. I don't know if I want to carry on now

I knew those Lee buffs were great on paper but i waited for the patch to hit live so i wouldnt get disappointed again. Back in season 2 i was psyched for his amazing buffs but realized they were mostly bullshit to pull off in a match 😭

You can always go for 434, lot more consistent.
just want to point out not too long ago FightingGM (a few weeks ago) almost won a tournament by fighting against Qudans in grand finals, which is more impressive than any previous result a lee player had (at least as far is USA results are concerned).
It went down to the wire with the bracket being reset and going all the way to the final match and yeh despite Qudans winning 3-0 in that final match there's no denying the fact that FightingGM's result was impressive.
Could be a coincidence or could be the fact that lowering his execution allowed the player to be more consistent with the character.
Acid Rain -> UB+3 -> FF+3 doesn't work on the wall anymore

Smh.. Jin and Lee, both of my mains. I can live with Jin's db4 & f4 being nerfed, but making Lee more accessible to new players at the expense of his overall damage and some moves' propreties made me upset.

Well Acid Rain > BK is harder to land and ff4 always requires a b33 pickup now so there is that for execution -for less reward-

He really only needed damage buffs...all that execution barrier breaking was unnecessary. Lee is definitely for people who pretty much want to challenge themselves, and he’s really good and if you’re good enough you’ll start to see it pay off, but like...this really wasn’t necessary making him easier. I liked Lee because he was a hard character to learn because of the execution barrier...why remove it?

You know what's even worse? The health bar isn't Lee and Violet's colors anymore. Which really sucks for me.
Meanwhile, Dragunov, King, Jack-7 and Bryan get buffed, Jin and D.Jin barely nerfed.
Lee nerfed, and Gigas got pretty much nothing.
I think we can officialy say that Bamco is not looking for 'balancing' the game, but rather to make choices involing what they want, and what they don't want the game to look like.
Season 3 overall is good, but there are a ton of questionable changes to say the least, that definitely reflect my previous statement IMO.
Just having another command grab would have been so much better for gigas
I never liked the ff4 counter hit stun. Having a split second to tell whether to do your NH combo or CH combo was annoying for me.
4,u3~f was such a let down, it takes so long to recover.
Really wanted b+1:1,2 to be made a wallbounce.
Otherwise I'm still happy with Lee.

Had more oki utility before, they did something with recovery on this knockdown.
Recovery is very slow.
I don't think the easier combos are bad, just make the old, execution-heavy combos do more damage. I don't think anyone will complain with that

So yes I was able to hit your combo, however I felt that getting in the ws 2,4 screw was a bit difficult to get consistently as your MS must be dashed in as far as possible and then input the iWR 2,4. I found a bit more consistent results replacing it with the F4,1 screw. 73 damage vs 71 damage, but I’m a fan of consistency. MS off 4, U3 is a little wonky so maybe I just suck and need to be better timing it.
To summarize, yes it’s possible.
I modified the combo for myself as:
CH 4,u3~n WS 2,3 B2~n F4,1 F2,1
4,u3f~ is nice for ch 4 conversions. Good damage too but that's pretty much all its good for I think. Hopefully they fix f3 string soon
No 4u3 already worked from certain distances.
Combo conversation from that was easy.
But if you do from point blank range, u3 itself would whiff. This is same even now.

Exactly, Lee is supposed to be hard. But regardless, Lee already has easy mode combos that don't lose much damage/wall carry, so adding the new tailspin and whatnot is completely nonsensical. All his new HMS transitions are useless too.

ngl I don't even have T7 yet because I don't have a PC powerful enough to play the game and thus I'm still stuck with TTT2.
But even though I might finally manage to get the game in next few months I feel like I should just keep playing TTT2 when I see this. But then I also wanna try him out and see if there is still anything new to find.

I dropped lee since they fugged up his bounds from tag 2 & put weird moves as his tailspins. They should’ve kept lee how he was
oki is better at the wall now with d4 4 u3 mistep, and his safe wallbounce is a hella big deal, cause that move is good, also his acid storm got mostly fixed, but there's still some instances it'll still whiff, same with acid rain in some ranges. But that's why we need to massively #t7s3report to get that shit fixed

It's clear that the team does not test their updates. Making a just frame punish harder? Making a new move that's easily ducked? Even making his moves more punishable...Do that shit to Geese not Lee. 3 seasons and Geese is still top with nerfs.

F 4,2 isn't that bad of a new screw its pretty good i've been messing around with lee in practice mode. Its okay that they made back 2 mist step cancels easier but that doesnt mean he is easy to play still. He still takes some skill to use. I dont agree with df 2 range nerf though. That should not be nerfed. You don't see lee players really. I used to play lee back in the day for fun but i switched to AK. I'm a lot better at the game than I was when i was a kid. They shouldnt have changed his ff4 combo. They need to fix the acid rain range like fighting GM and Iamop said.
I'm not saying it's bad, it's utility is very limited. Just doesn't add much to existing kit gameplay wise.
Just look at Dragunov's new 31 cancel. I'm having so much fun doing his combos right now, can't say the same with Lee.
@@IAMOP I haven't tried dragunovs new move. But i see what your saying. I think jin still needs some damage nerfs. Some of his combos do like do damage. And did you see coorejams new death combo with geese? Thats only if you have 3 bars but I mean damn.

And he does 140ish damage with 1 bar.
2 bar is only for raging storm at the end.
It's crazy, you can loose 90 percent health with 1 bar
@@IAMOP I didnt know that I dont really use twitter and all that stuff. But its insane though right? Kind of made the wrong changes. Same with jin. Nerfed db 4 but gave him a new wall carry to get 90 damage in combos.

I AM OP you seemed unhappy about FF,3 change, plus the new standing screw move b,4,1 the nerfs I understand why everyone is upset bc lee didn’t deserve them. But to me it sounds like you’re complaining about the buffs too.

All they could’ve done is buff his combo damage, but instead Bandai Namco decided to make him easier to play.. Also, I’m not a Lee main.
Jin Kazama which really sucks. If you want an easier character, play Katarina or Noctis.
DF2 has the exact same hitbox as S2, it whiffed on females before
Nah dude, I mostly pick females as opponent and practice stuff with him every day.
The range was the first thing I noticed immediately.
@@IAMOP I got someone to test it that it whiffs on asuka in S2 as well and remember doing the same on females like Ling, Eliza always. I doubt they'd stealth nerf df2 like that and I haven't noticed any difference in gameplay
