In mosh pits, you’d don’t punch people 😂😂 I mean you might catch few stray elbows or something but if that stuff happens, 9 times out of 10 it’s not intentional. Most people are in there just to push each other. You push everyone into one another, and it really is to burn off energy and to have fun. And believe me when I tell you, it truly is a blast to be out front and center of an amazing band like parkways drive and just to go nuts and lose yourself in the pit
2:30 Well usually its all fun and games and as soon someone slips and falls on the ground, people will form a circle around them to protect them and pick them up. I've also already had people form search circles for lost shoes, glasses, earrings etc.
As someone who lost his glasses cos of a rebound on the pit boundary, I can partly attest to it. They do help fallen people for sure. Quite a lot of them tried to help me search for my glasses using mobile flashlights, cos it was 10.30 in the night, it was extremely blurry for me. But guess they were already trampled by then.
Am I also right in thinking they've kept the same lineup since 2006 too? Such a sick buncha lads, much love for em. They've earned a place as one of the heavyweights in modern metal now. Their music is clearly top tier, but the factor that pushes them to the pinnacle has to be their live shows imo. Utterly incredible experience every single time I've seen them over the years.
Growing up as teenager in Australia in the mid 2000s I had the pleasure of watching this band go from shows of 30-40 kids through to the last time I seen them live with about 40 thousand people. And everything between have seen them in total 36 times. There crowdwork and live shows have always been amazing and I think you would enjoy there discography as they are quite a few albums deep.. Keep up the good work.. This ones earned a follow for me
Generally moshpits are full of decent human beings. As Frank T says No fist No Fights. Generally you dont throw fists and anyone that falls you pick them up. As a suggestion have a look at Bury Tomorrow - Black Flame
Legit, the mosh pit is, usually, exceptions exist, one of the safest places to be, you burn off energy and keep everyone safe, no attempts to hurt anyone, if you fall a circle is formed and you get picked up and checked. Obviously accidents can happen, obviously it is exhausting and intense. Me, with a stuffed back and in my 40's, it ain't something I do anymore, it's a frolic for the younger folks, but in my day I loved it and despite being a light weight I was never hurt, not once, ever.
There's a cool TED talk (I think) of a physicist who was a metal fan/went to some gigs and concerts. He ended up seeing the same natural fluid motions in mosh pits (specifically circles of death) as there are in nature and particle physics. It's a pretty sick yarn, worth a look if that interests you
It's really hard to explain the energy of a mosh pit (well a good mosh pit) but it's less about pushing each other around and getting beat up and more about moving together. It's hectic but it's rhythm. A lot of times I've heard bands say "when someone falls what do you do?" And the crowd yells "pick them up!!" at punk shows stuff like that. The positive expression of "aggressive energy" idk I hope that makes sense but it's synergy the crowd respects each other and the energy is overwhelming lolz
yezz, you did this song :) love that..!! i would really like to se you guys react to another australian band, "the Amity Affliction" and their song "pittsburgh" or "forever"
Could you fucking imagine being served a homemade lemon frosted cupcake while listening to parkway drive and you look over at grandma and she sips her coffee and throws up a set of horns and says "hope you have a good day at school baby".... take me back 😭😭😭
Dear, Grannies! React LORDI - HARD ROCK HALLELUJAH (Eurovision Song Contest Winner 2006) 🇫🇮 The Eurovision Song Contest is an annualy organised international song competition featuring participants representing primarily European countries.
Parkway Drive - Shadow Boxing is my absolute favorite song. Not the best for a reaction video, but their Crushed song is a very good one to do. I hope you react to more of their music!!!
For European Flair: Gojira- Le Efant Sauvage or Silvera Amon Amarth- Way of Vikings Lesser Known bands: Taproot- Poem Cold- Suffocate Trust Company- Downfall Other faves: Atreyu- Ex's and Oh's or When Two are One A Day to Remember- I'm Made of Wax, Larry, What are you made of? Of Mice and Men- Another You or Would You Still Be There
Finally..... kept asking you guys to do Parkway and Gojira for ages until I gave up..... not one of the songs I would have chosen but hey you can't get it all.
Agreed. Their first few albums sound like one giant album to me. Very little variance. Which is why i really like their last two albums as there's more variety and change ups
I love your channel. I love the no life shaq shirt. I have two requests first one is deviloof- anysong and the second is der en grey- any song as well. Thanks. long live the granny squad. Wooooooooooooooooooooooôooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wasn't sure how I felt about this band, but this video has really made me want to reconsider and give them another try because damn that was amazing!
@@L1FEL1KE02 I've been listening to a bunch and I don't know what was wrong with me before, maybe I started with the wrong song but I absolutely love them now!
@@chloestarshine yeah that's what i had as well. Then i saw them live at a festival earlier this year and gave them a second go because they're so good live
Good evening Granny and Nana. I would like to see you review your first Killswitch Engage song. They are one of the pioneers of modern metal. It’s hard to say what song to review, they have so many good ones, plus they have had two different lead singers that are both phenomenal in their own way. I would recommend one of the following: With lead vocalist Howard Jones: - This Is Absolution - Rose of Sharyn - My Curse With lead vocalist Jesse Leach: - Fixation on the Darkness - Hate by Design - In Due Time
In a weird, loving, angry way. A mosh pit is a family. There's some that go just to induce pain, but in all the pits I've been in. Hard ass fuck and crazy, If one falls, we all pick them up and continue. My wife dropped her glasses one time in the middle of a crazy circle pit, the pit would slowly get small as members would look for the glasses, then once found or picked up the pit would retain its form. Beautiful. Beautiful
Fun fact: Parkway Drive did a cooperation shirt with my favourite soccer club "FC St. Pauli". It's an anti-fascist and anti-raccist club in a district in Hamburg, Germany. The lyrics of wild eyes are printed on the shirt and the logo of Parkway Drive and the one of St. Pauli together as well. Parkway Drive is amazing and the fans of FCSP not less! :D And please do "Zombie" by the "Cranberries". :D
I first saw them perform in 2005...was like 20 people at a local skatepark venue in Perth Australia.
Thank you ladies, I shall rock my head heavier knowing you. x

yup, been in many moshpits, if someone falls down they are there quickly to help you up 🙂
At metal concerts, yeah. Pretty much everybody is caring.
At punk concerts, on the other hand… Fucking death zone.
Parkway Drive is probably one of the most fun metal bands you could go watch live. Seen em so many times live and it never gets old ^^

Mazzzuto too bad that after 2006 Eurovision has turned into a joke. And around 2010s completely lost its credibility.
That would be awesome to see a reaction to hard rock hallelujah!!!!
