I really enjoyed your video. When you camped at Sones Pond, you showed a very small creek. Was it a good source to replenish your water, or was it mostly stagnant? Thanks.
I think the creek was further down the trail. Maybe 30 minutes from sones...at the time the water had a nice flow, I imagine its pretty good throughout the year.
Absolutely...we took some pretty long stops due to the heat and humidity. If the temp us cool enough, I imagine this could be done in a day. This was a great hike!!!
Great Video! I have been also trying to get on this trail for 2 years but every time I plan to we get bad weather and hike another trail. Planning it again for the end of July with my daughter. I was also looking a camping at Sones pond, How were the bugs at your campsite being so close to the pond?
The bugs at Sones Pond weren't that bad. The mosquitoes were much worse further into the trail. If I go back, I would try and camp along the river. Hope the weather holds and you can make it out.
Great vid. I have also had horrible luck with weather.
