Hi Robbie, thanks for all your great videos and tips. Do you have a view on waiting the usual 2-3 days after cutting before applying fertiliser and lawn sand? When the grass is growing and needs cutting 2-3 times a week, then considering the need for it to rain too, it becomes a bit of a never ending ‘tomorrow’ job that never gets down. Do I need to leave it 2-3 days?

Looks like the same yellow sprayer as daniel hibbert except less dirty 😆
Think I'm gonna try Adblue on lawn since it's manufactured solution of high-purity urea (32.5%) and deionised water (67.5%).
Almost same price as ammonia sulphate and just been a real cheap liquid form (unlike most lawn care versions..) it's just real easy to apply.
Seen since videos on here of people using it.
Adblue should say on bottle 15-0-0 😆

My boss owns a few anaerobic digestion power plants that convert food waste to energy, and when the process is complete a liquid digestate remains, it's used for fertilizing crops etc. I've always used a rotary spreader with granular feeds, but he's brought home 3 x 25 litre cans of this digestate for me to try.
I only have a cheap backpack sprayer, the generic blue and yellow 20 litre, sure you know the one I mean. I've 1600 sqm of quality lawn to cover I feed with the usual yearly routine, an acre all in of rolling lawns that I feed once a year, and 2.5 acres of Orchard I pray he never decides warrants feeding, I doubt that will ever happen though.
I gotta figure out how to test this, going to need some kind of spray bar and pump like crazy I think, and if it's any good I'll have to get a towable sprayer I guess to go on the back of the ride on. Nightmare to get even coverage with a rotary on lawns of this size, going to be even worse with a backpack sprayer!

Hi Robbie. Great videos. Im from Surrey, England. I used nearly all your tips to kill half my lawn and have planted new seed. My grass is growing amazing, looking fabulous and it has only been a week so far. One video i would find really useful is how to keep cats off my lawn? They have pood all over my lawn. I cleaned it all up and spread lemon and orange peels all round the sides which has had some effect but I found some poo this morning. I would like to understand the effects on keeping the cats away but also on my new lawn(!) of using (1) lemon and orange peels (2) spraying lavender oils - is this bad for my lawn? (3) any other more permanent methods - if there are any - apart from shooting the cat (joke). Love the videos and your style. I was a complete gardening noob befofe undertaking my lawn renovation project but managed to do it. It was a HUGE amount of work because i dug up all the trees and plants around the sides and cost me £1,400 for all the tools and soil etc but it was worth it because the tools i will use regularly. Keeping my lawn in good condition is my new and best hobby. If you are ever in Surrey come round for dinner because I owe you one. Lots of love Faraz

Hi, that Scotts hand-cranked spreader is rubbish. I had it, but I definitely would not recommend it for small spaces, unless you like wrist pain. A much better choice is to spend a little more and get something like Ryobi makes, it's battery-powered, similar in size, and it only takes less than a couple of minutes to cover evenly my 30m2 lawn. If you already have any of Ryobi's battery-powered tools, then it's a steal because you don't need to spend on battery. A side note, one advantage of this particular brand is that they won't change battery mount over the years.

I am not a fan of a particular brand, but because I had issues with it, I gave up, it was a nightmare to use. Since I already had other power tools by Ryobi I bought the spreader from them. There is no point in having battery-powered tools from different manufacturers, I am not sure if others make them, but it is worth mentioning that battery-powered spreaders do exist. Did you watch the video? I thought it was pretty concise and clearly explained giving two or three options from opposite price scales. In fairness, like anything you get into (enthusiastically), you're gonna have to spend a decent amount of money. Ultimately; lawnsmith..ing isn't a necessity, and shouldn't be treated like one, so if you're not in the market/can't afford to do it, move on.
