Do you guys remember the first season when Ovi was playing for the Washington Capitals. He played every game as if though it was the 7th and deciding game. You must give credit, when credit is due. The guy is a superstar of the hockey in this generation. He has speed, he can be physical when he needs to be and yes. This guy can score goal with accuracy. But did you guys know, that he is one hell of nice guy? He is.
History in the making.. what's that like 3 hat tricks his last 5-6 games? Amazing.

Mike Bossy(NY Islanders) holds the record with a .762 goals per game. Ovechkin is 6th with a .614 goals per game. So, as great as Ovechkin is, he is not the all time greatest goal scorer in NHL history. Mike Bossy is! That is indisputable.

Ovechkin started the season at 13th all time in goals. He is now 8th, having passed Robitaille, Selanne, Lemieux, Yzerman and Messier. He is closing in on Mike Gartner and he might catch Phil Esposito at this rate before the season’s over lol. Gettin’ closer.

Like most, it all depends on the era you grew up in, for me gretzky is my legend, the GOAT and most likely always will be.
But…I…cannot deny Ove's supernatural powers when it comes to slinging pucks in the net.
He's just a beast and fun to watch and I really do hope Ove does break gretzky goal record.
Gretzky was a goal scorer and a great playmaker. That era was easier to score goals since the goalies were almost all about 5'8" with small equipment. The goaltenders now are bigger and better athletes.
