Blackwell was one of THE best. Graceful and agile. Excellent in both heel and babyface roles.
Jerry Blackwell also had great mic skills,he was one of yester years long forgotten great great wrestlers,he was a great heal in those old A.W.A days
RIP "Crusher" Jerry Blackwell, the "Mountain From Stone Mountain." A helluva underrated big man. His matches witch Bob Backlund, Jerry Lawler, Bruiser Brody and Stan Hansen are the stuff of legend.
Absolutely
Wow. Blackwell was fucking awesome.
Thanks channel extreme, Memphis wrestling will never die. Interesting match, Crusher "no sold" some of Lawler's staple moves and picking up the King before the 3 count was something rarely seen.
Two legends. RIP Blackwell
Blackwell is a friggin beast, love him. Get well, Lawler. Great match.
Jerry Backwell was the greatest big man ever.
Haystacks Calhoun was better in my opinion
Not even in the top 10. The guy was way too short and his career was way too regional for him to be the best ever. André the Giant is of course the greatest ever.
@@jonathanturbide2232 He was was a top ten big man but certainly far from best . One Man Gang or Vader or or maybe Bundy but not Blackwell .... Blackwell was very mobile and tough as nails
@@georgeelmerdenbrough6906 Vader before WWE
@@chadk890 Don't forget Bigelow and Tenta
i miss them good old days this is wrestling at its best
Blackwell was one of the best sellers. He was a heel I loved to hate in the AWA.
I saw Blackwell several times early in his career (semi-final matches in the Mid-Atlantic territory) and you could tell he was going places in this business. He looked like the stereotypical "big fat guy", but man, could he put on a good match.
I never saw him in a stinker .
Blackwell was a perfect, classic big man Gagne drooled over.
Now that is a nimble big man.
I love Memphis wrestling 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 👍👍👍👍👍
Crusher Blackwell was 1 of the best big men ever. He looks truly devestating here.
As for the "padded trampoline" thing, wrestling rings are not trampolines. They have some give to them, but certainly not as much as people give them credit for. Mick Foley said the pre-1999 rings in the WWF were like hitting concrete. As for the size difference, the first first UFC match pitted a 190 pound fighter against a 350 pound sumo wrestler. The 190lbs fighter won in 15 seconds. Size does not always make a difference even in a real fight.
What a great match, they both crushed it
Great entertaining match. Jerry Blackwell was underrated
Mr.Hart brought in so many top guns in 81 to get Lawler out of town.Briscos,Funks, Kamala,Harley Race, its hard to remember the who's who in out of the coliseum at this time.
Blackwell was good performer.
Blackwell was a beast RIP
Wow, Crusher Blackwell beat the brakes off of Lawler! LOL.
Crowd waited and became alive when King lowered the boom.
Blackwell looked like an obease pampero firpo!
3:25 to 3:32...Jerry takin his balls for a head-humpin ride on Blackwell while rapid-punchin him in the face...i liked how Jerry's punches slowed at the end, in unison with his slowing last "spurts" shooting off into his singlet...I imagine Jerry was feelin pretty damn alpha right there...I liked the way he slammed his knees into the canvas with each punch to disguise his "punish-humpin" of Blackwell's head, i can see why he had to slow his punches at the end, the alpha-feelin "spasms" were messing with his punching rhythm 😜
Jerry workin' hard for the money!
468 lbs my eye . 368 lbs more likely . He was only 5'' 10 "
235 vs 468 lb
he beat the shit out if Lawler!
lay down for Lawler at its worst on this one .
can't believe a missed belly splash was good enough for a 3 count. I've yet to hurt myself and I can do it on a hard floor and Jerry was on a padded trampoline...lol Guess it was just as fake then. Still a fan but awfully predictable is every match. even dq's. If this was real Lawler had no chance.\
