Two legends. I would've loved to go to wrestling at the Memphis Coloseum in the 80's
i was at this match. front row ringside with my grandfather. Fun memories
Rest In Peace KING KONG BUNDY
2 great legends wrestlers when Wrestling was real and true wrestling . R.I.P. king Kong Bundy very friendly and great guy outside the ropes . we met him and talked to him about many other wrestlers feuds and the past of wrestling and his famous 5 count.
Interesting to see Bundy have a ton of energy.
This is like when Big Van Vader squashed Antonio Inoki in New Japan in 1987....and the crowd rioted. Inoki knew that letting Vader squash him would be unexpected. And it was. The crowd nearly tore the place down. Wrestling was banned from that venue for like ten years.
When I was a kid in the 1980's, The LOUISVILLE GARDENS was a Hotbed for professional wrestling Bro ! Now, the Old Gardens is dormant, and running down. Nobody will invest any money into it. Martin Luther King appeared there. Elvis Presley appeared there. Now, just Ghost's in the halls of the Arena.
Wow classic memories
0:03 Bundy had some quick feet.
And a big gut.
This is brilliant because the good guy gets cheered for using heel tactics ..that's interesting.
I found out Bundy was relation to me he passed 2 yrs later rest in peace uncle
That beating would of killed an average man. LOL
Bought this VHS at the local pic n save waaay back in the day.
Great match, Bundy heel.
He lasted 7 minutes - $7,000 nice
Jerry Lawler was one of the best in the 70s and 80s
dam crazy ass lawler the 80s
Bundy was a great worker!!
Bundy was the man fron 83 to 87
Bundy looks weird with the spandex tights, glad he exposed his great legs when he came to WWF
They really over exaggerated the weight and height of many of the wrestlers. Bundy was not 460 lbs, maybe 390lbs
yes
@@imranhatim.3264 How much do you think that kong weighted
Ummm...the ring is almost a trampoline. LOL
Bundy was really agile for a guy that big.
Paul Morton was one of the most pitiful referee's to even step into the ring. I don't think Memphis ever hired a competent referee period.
@zzremington who said it didn't? thats why people do it in the first place, you just cant get caught.
Bundy--->Hall of Fame
According to Lance Russel, Lawler had a narrow victory over Bundy in a previous match. So how is this a “challenge” for Lawler to to stay in the ring with Bundy for 10 minutes? That commentary undercuts the story line quite a bit.
King king was super agile
3 -1 Seems 'fair'.
King Kong Bundy is huge man with Jimmy hart
Where was Savage?
Omg jimmy is so skinny and tiny no wonder he got beat up alot
Dude said 6: 57 at least 4 times near the end. It was a little bit excessive, who cares how long it took.
The reason he said it was because the story line for the match was that Jimmy Hart put up $10,000, and Jerry Lawler kayfabe got $1,000 for every minute he stayed in the match against King Kong Bundy, meaning he'd have won $6,000 as far as the story line and fans were concerned. That's why Lance Russell said it the way he did.
Five count!
Original King Kong bundy/ jerry Ralph
if Bundy had better execution on those lateral presses he might have gotten the win earlier.
Jerry Lawler and Jimmy Hart are both from Memphis, but, there's a difference.
Jerry Lawler- pride of Memphis
Jimmy Hart- shame of Memphis
Was it 6:57? I didn’t hear…
Nothing but a six minute squash match. The only time Jerry got any offense in was before Rude came to the ring.
@Edgehead10075 The whole point was to have the heel rag doll the champ .
@Edgehead10075 BTW , there were no scripted matches back then .
@@georgeelmerdenbrough6906 Really?
Lawler was robbed !!!!!!!
Bill Goldberg was the greatest
this was a lowdown dirty trick ,he should have been made to pay Jerry anyway not right.
Goldberg had it all speed and power he supllex the giant that's take incredable power
“They don’t make kings like they used to”-GenX
ridiculous cowardery on bundy. He used a chain? He didn't need a chain to defeat Lawler. disgusting.
King Kong bundy would have got his ass kicked by Bill Goldberg
Bill Goldberg could have manhandled king king bundy
Goldberg couldn't work . Bundy could .
If Goldberg was capable of mishandling King Kong Bundy ,it would have been because of the use of steroids. Goldberg was a steroid junkie just like the Ultimate Warrior.
Better ass whoopens back then kiddies then anything on TV today 🙏👌rip Bundy
