I have a carhartt WIP shop not far from me in London but I’ve been buying carhartt clothes for over 40 years and current have in excess of 25 different items . For me the original American carhartt workwear clothes are what carhartt is all about so for that reason I have no WIP stuff , but I do admit lots of it looks really nice but what about the price “ OUCH”
@@zeqiyang3750 Is regular Carhartt hard to find in the UK? In Canada and the US we have workwear stores because our construction industry is so huge. I wouldn't know what the availability is in the UK. My advice is to guess which size works for you and order it online. I think even Amazon sells regular Carhartt.

I’ve only seen Wip in the UK so far, quite annoying as I might need to try some trousers to know my perfect size😭 But thank you very much for replying me and the friendly suggestion. Thank you for your review. I bought both a M and a L and I think I am right between the sizes. I like the fit of the M around the chest and waist but I absolutely hate it around my armpits and shouders. The jacket feels tight there I would probably be adjusting the fabric regularly. Then again, the L is much much more comfortable, yet the jacket is HUGE. I feel like I could stick basketball between my stomach and the jacket in size L. I've spent the last 30 min trying both jackets on and I cannot make up my mind for the life of me. Too bad, I like the jacket, the look and the price.
It's tough being in between sizes like that. I actually sold my jacket because the arms were too short by over an inch. If you look at the wide shot wearing the jacket you can see how short the arms are.
I had the fucking same experience, I'm 1.78 meter tall. In my first attempt to the store i was in between L and Xl, but it took me 10 minutes to find out that L was my size, but through out the week i start thinking about, what if im M size after all. All the models in the website where taller than me by 10 cm so, so i came back to the store with a hoodie to layer inside the jacket to see the diference. At the end i took the M size just because i wanted to use it without layer it, thinking in a minimalist style. For the record I had never use an M Size before in terms of jackets or hoodies so it was hard to makeup my mind. Just let it rip

The colour they call it is just brown. They have several options to buy now. I’m not sure where you live but in Canada I have a couple places I buy WIP where it is on sale frequently.
Looks like yours is the first one. Hamilton Brown (rigid) I got mine from the US which is the OG deep hamilton and they used aged canvas (worn-in look)

Wind resistance is good when walking around, but not sure about biking as I do not bike or motorbike. I did however wear it in winter with a henley under and it was warm enough. BTW the Detroit jacket is warmer than the vest. The blanket lining in the jacket is warmer than the thinsuate in the vest.

I got this as well as an RGT lined supply jacket, and Tbh they get similar amounts of wear. Only thing I prefer about this one is the beautiful canvas and how it ages.
Are you having problems with the zippers engaging, particularly the bottom one. I’ve owned it since 9/30/20 and the bottom zipper has been nothing but a headache.

But I’ll be honest, it’s a good jacket, I’ve put it through hell. If anyone out there is considering this jacket, beware, the zipper is going to be frustrating. Take care and happy New Year!
That's my pet hate. I F***ing hate the double zip system. 😡😠🤬 I think companies do it to enable wearer to partially close the jacket whilst driving or riding a horse. I don't care. I've complained about that to the Gant company here in UK. I only buy jackets with one zip. Liked the Carhatt, but now won't buy cos of the bloody zips!!!!!
Very nice jacket. My only complaint would be that the shoulders are not pleated for reaching when working. Also, the price. Seem way overpriced and more like a fashionable jacket than a work jacket.
It's definitely no replacement for a winter parka. In Vancouver it is around 0 degree C in winter and I wore this most of the time. I took out my parka maybe 10 times this year.
I think carhartt WIP started to produce their own collection in 1997, it's an european offshoot (they got a licence deal to sell products under the same name), the quality of the materials is also not better, often a bit thinner and the stitchings can be worse then the og workwear stuff.
I’ve bought regular Carhartt for construction. Here in Canada 🇨🇦 regular Carhartt is not the greatest quality. I’ve found WIP just a little better. Does it justify the price? If you manage to get WIP on a sale than yes. I think so.

Yes, I have tried on a Large and for me, it fit way too baggy for me. The Medium fits perfect except the arm length. Its unfortunate as I don't feel like I have particularly long arms for my height.
@@guntarskauls8627 Yeah. From the top of my deltoid running down the outside of my arm is 24" to my wrist. So the jacket fits fine in the sleeve when I'm standing relaxed. But when I'm doing any sort of activity like driving, its way short.

I sort of fiddled around with it and with a little practice it's not that big of a bother. But they need to make their zippers better esp. with how much you pay.

Hem at waist looks a bit lower than the originals. The originals had a really high hem that would sit at or above your belt in normal jeans. Too bad for that.
I think the sleeves might be too short. Best would be to find a size guide online to see what the sleeve length is. Or call a shop that has one and ask if they can tell you measurements over the phone.
Sorry. I didn't mention my weight and measurements in this video. But I mentioned in other videos. I am 5'10 and 165 pounds and have a size medium. Warning though. The sleeves are slightly shorter than I would like.

Made in America is always better, but does cost more. If I were to do it again I would have paid more and got a lined Rogue Territory jacket in copper canvas.

I have used a lot of regular Carhartt over the years for construction work. Personally I think WIP is a huge upgrade.

Other than the tag it looks exactly like one I got at my local farm store for $80.00. I honestly don't see the difference.
The regular Carhartt one fits a bit looser. I would have got the regular if it wasn't as loose fitting.

Bloody hell. I have a Bartlett from their non-WIP line, and the zipper kills me. It's like the bit that goes in is tilted inwards so it doesn't catch.

Yes. This is most ideal for spring/fall.
Only thing I like better then the regular detroit jackets (Usa made) is the darker corduroy collar

Freezing probably not. But it’s warm. I’ve worn it in the warmer winter day with a Henley and it was just fine.

Honestly I think buying a large and paying to get get it tailored to slim it down. You are taller than me and the mediums sleeves are too short.
