As a detailer, if your gonna use toothpaste don’t use anything whitening or that would have abrasive properties get just some plain paste and use that or you will scratch your paint. All the toothpaste is doing is acting as a compound. A better idea would be to buy some one step polishing compound and a microfiber towel, and wash your car thoroughly, then apply compound and do a hand buff with the microfiber towel. All in all though I would say bring the car to your local detailer or paint guy to ensure the best outcome.
