I’ve been passionate about skincare since I was a little girl. I loved to have sleep overs and do face masks, massages and paint our nails.
Most people hear from God in nature; I feel God’s presence at the Spa. There is something about being pampered that makes me feel like Abba’s Little Princess.
The secret to good skin starts with… having clean makeup brushes.
These harbor dead skin cells, bacteria, mites…trust me you don’t want to know.
I deep clean my brushes anytime I’m sick or have a long weekend.
Dip them in White Vinegar and then wash with shampoo, sometimes condition as well.
I “lightly” clean my brushes, as I use them.
I will use a makeup wipe, then alcohol wipe.
Brushes used with cream products, I tend to wash those more as bacteria multiplies in moisture.
REMEMBER: Less is MORE when it comes to skin.
If you look in my cabinet, you will see a lot of products, but I don’t use a ton at one time. I rotate my favorites to what my skin needs that day.
When I find a regimen that works, I stick with it until my skin needs change.
I’ve pretty much had the same routine in my 20’s and 30’s and then began adding more actives as I got older.
You don’t want to inflame your skin as that can compromise the barrier and cause a reaction or create an imbalance.
I’m not a fan of sharing what works for me because each person’s skin has different needs and issues so what works with one person’s chemistry and even their budget might not work for yours.
My personal skincare are not all of my actual faves ,but they work and fit within my budget. When it comes to good skin, you do not need to break the bank.
    #Cleanse your brushes!
The main thing is to cover good skin basics:
    1. Cleanse your brushes regularly!!!
    2. Exfoliate appropriately for your age group
    3. Use a mineral SunBLOCK.
    What are exfoliators?
    1. Physical
    2. Chemical
    Physical exfoliants are:
    1. Sponge
    2. Scrub/Powder
    3. Brush
    Chemical exfoliants are:
    1. Peels
    2. Acids
    3. Retinols/Retinoids
    Age appropriate exfoliation:
    1. Teens 1 time a week.
    2. 20’s 2 times a week, (Sun & Wed)
    3. 30’s 3 times a week (Mon, Wed, Friday)
*Only increase if you feel you need it.
    Be gentle.
Pay attention to what your skin is telling you.
    Give it what it needs.
    Always wear sunblock, not sunscreen.
The difference between a sunblock and sunscreen is that sun gets through the screen.
Check the labels to ensure it has a minimum of 20 percent Zinc Oxide
    Layer Sunblock.
    Put it on naked skin.
    Mix it in your foundation.
Powder your face with power Sunblock.
Wear gloves, hat and sunglasses as often as you can because incidental exposure adds up!
