Full stop. I just wanted to say my boys and I love watching your videos. I’m a mother and avid outdoorsman. I hunt and fish and teach my boys survival skills as often as I can. It’s my favorite past time. The only issue I have with your videos is the constant talk about men and boys and masculinity. I’m a woman. I’m married to a man who is not interested in any outdoor activities. I’ve been hunting fishing and learning primitive survival since I was a child. Please don’t limit your audience to men and boys only. Some of us women love to do the things the men do. Just wanted to say that we love your channel and hope to see you adding women into your talks. Don’t get me wrong. I know most women aren’t into this way of living. But some are. 😊 We live in Kentucky and will be moving to a farm soon and would love to have you come out and do a survival challenge on our land. ❤️

  • @Shamariah2011

I wasn’t expecting to enjoy your projects at the cabin. What I like about your nature adventures is that u get unexpected things happen like accidental falling through ice, late night mishaps, burly and furry visitors, not catching fish or not knowing the best fishing hole (catching TONS) or forest fires in the distance or finding amazing things. I like the new series but please continue your fly-in portaging/cooking/gathering adventures at Adventure lake and red (?) outfitters and elsewhere. And winter hot tent on the lake. I do get the allure of having nature closer to home (and making memories) where u can be more involved in your family’s life.
But there’s Nothing like the sound of your boots crunching on the snow when it’s -20 degrees and not having wives, pets or children in a man’s adventure. Theres also something so calming about your voice during “on trip” early morning check-ins and hearing birds, water, twigs crunching underfoot, and the sounds of nature. Sometimes when I watch I feel like I can even smell the forest and the sensory elements of your Adventure. There’s something so pure about getting away for 2 men up to the challenge.

I like the presentation. Good to see you got some kids involved as well. It’s too bad that you can’t get something in your place, but having something close is a decent compromise.
I am looking forward to see if you can get something dug that you can use the creek the beavers are working to fill your new one up and provide a clean water source. Just be sure to add a woodduck box. If you build it they will come.

When I was a kid in England my uncle used to hang a bit of road kill over a spot he wanted to fish let it get fly blown and then go back and fly fish it for the trout. You could do that sort of thing in the pond. Have a look at maggot feeders as in a bucket with holes and then you put offal spoiled meat in it gets fly blown and the maggots migrate out to turn into flies but they drop in the water. High protein fish food. Big enough holes for the maggots to get out but big enough for flies to get in closed top with holes in and smaller ones around the sides. A few cms up. Not too smelly unless you are right on top of it. We used to hang a road kill rabbit under a bridge near us and got great fish. Great to see your son get the big one ;-) Gonna be fishing in the Uk in July for sport but it will be fun.

@@TheWoodedBeardsman Hang it high in a tree 3mtrs maybe if you swim under at worst a maggot drops on you but you would not smell it. Or low and stay away bears might be a problem if low? I know it works and free fish food.
