Are there local water plants you can add to your pond? These will easily out compete the algae for nutrients and naturally aid you in your pond maintenance. The faster the plant grows, the better. They will also create places to hide and feed for your fish.

Love the vids, just a small suggestion: A few years ago, when I lived in Ontario, I visted a pond similar to yours. As a proteine source for their bass, they vermicomposted their kitchen scraps. They used their compost for their trees and tomatos, but also used their worms to feed the fish from time to time. They mentioned that the worms reproduce really quickly and thrive in kitchen scraps. Maybe you could use it as an additional source of food for your bass too?
Love your vids, nice and relaxing to watch.

In GA ponds we used little floating plants to filter out the water. They are easy to remove if needed but they work great as filters and give areas for smaller fish to hide.

I love this channel! I really like the wildlife it has brought too! Its too bad he cant put some native plants in though. Maybe when Greg the pond guy gets there he can have some suggestions. Because he is obsessed with ponds LOL. In fact he's building ponds at two other channels I follow.
I love the night shots keep up the good work :)

Nice to see hen tubes in use. Little tip for the next time. Add roofing felt sheet before hay so it gives extra cover against sun and rain. Hope to see some action on those duck nests 🫡

Folks at home, Welcome back to the crimson oak pond! and if youre new to this series we built this 5 acre pond over the past year. And it took us several months to get all of the dirt excavated, and we had to bring in several truckloads of clay. and we also built an island, a dock and got all of the structure in place. and then it took a couple of months to get it full of water. after that we stocked it with a bunch of baitfish. including bluegills and threadfin shad. and not long after that we stocked with these little 2 inch aggressive bass. and were gonna be giving you an update on them here in just a minute and showing you just how big theyve gotten.

Awsome video as always! I was inspired by you to get a bass so I caught a little LM bass and named him Moe, he lived in my 120 gal tank for 6 months before I released him into a friends pond. So, it would be awsome if you could name one of the bass after Moe for me! Thank you for uploading every week, I don't know how yall do it but I love watching your videos! Keep it up! :)

Perfect timing. I've been binge watching Brits and Gulf states UA-cams on duck tubes and floating water plant islands. Stuff the nest 3/4 full since they never bring any material to the nest and they will pick at the sides and make huge bald spots throughout the nesting period.

If I would be doing this I would use plant life and multi pond method
The plant life takes care of the algae, keeps the water clear and also helps feed the "bait fish" as well as giving them a place to hide.
The multi pond gives the "bait fish" a place to hide and breed....
you use pile of rocks and gravel at a deep part of the main pond to protect a pump that pumps the water in to the smaller pond though couple of water falls and/or water fountains to help add oxygen to the water.
You use the water fountains/water falls to also control the water level of the ponds, there is no chance of fish slipping out of the pond though the over flow and the newly added water will have a chance to get to temperature and mix with the current water as to not "shock" the fish in any way.
the pump at the bottom of the pond is a good way to help clean out any sentiment introduced by the rain, but you can also use a pump near the surface of the water to help clear out any floating debris like leaves and twigs.
*Added bonus the smaller pond can be used as a swimming pool*
