See you somewhere on the internet! 💫🌌
U guys should talk to 1 of the CEOs/Employer's who'll pay as your predictions, so that this episode make sense!!!
I know lots that do, this is my insider view. You are free to believe otherwise
AHHH So inspiring!!! A vital takeaway was OPTIMISM!!
Getting more into design will be sure to see you in cohort 6 Wanna learn sooo much from you
Great video. Happy to see India be at par
Thanks helpful video
Broo...😯🔥
There should be justice to pay all us designers a medium rate even from people in Latam and Asia. Think of that, even working with the lowest US or Europe rate, we could have the chance to improve our family lives. Problem most of the time, companies hire us to cut costs because they know 1k dolas salary is high four our country standard. If we could place our talent to work remotely with a foreign company to pay equally salaries the story for us would be much happier.
This is such a good video, you deserve more subs
Thank you
Inspiring! 🔥🔥
Thanks for being so candid and sharing real world insights.
Cheers
Thank u for been an inspiration. I was also suffering from the mind set issue, now i feel freed up.
Good work Abhinav, always inspiring, going through this phase, and this is nothing but inspiring. Thanks.
let’s goooo
this is crazy money!!!
You just deserved much more thab "just" over 300k subbers.
OMG, Abnux & Jayneil you're actually setting the standards so high for upcoming designers! Ready to capture a glimpse of the moon, already onboarded on 10k spaceship🚀👽
It's so inspiring Abhinav I really loved it keep inspiring us:)
Perfect ending haha!
🤝
Can you please make a video of companies are giving this much of money because usually people will start 3 or 4 here in India. It will be helpful for design people that how to search properly.
He mentioned leadership in tech company i wanna do that some day. Literally my aim. I am not against starting your own business, startup like that!! Just i am more inclined towards the leadership goal
We want to see the lower too.
crystal clear is a nice drink
Is simply refuse to believe this, it's simply too much 😀
Please do make a video on where to find jobs for beginners/rookies 👍
Will do, thanks for the suggestion ✌️
@@abnux Do you know what's it like in Delhi?
Unfortunately, HR will ask the previous salary to decide next salary
The last line was OP 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I love your videos 😍
thanks!
Product design you're talking about in the video is different then industrial product design?
Very Insightful! I have around 7 years of banking xp & am planning to learn and switch into UI/UX, do you think I can negotiate with design companies to match my last drawn salary? I know I'll be a fresher in the design field, but don't wanna undermine my past work experience and growth
Yes you can! but it will be in the range of 0-2 years of design exp (around the median or higher) and not for 7 years of design experience
@@abnux Understandable & fair enuf! I can live with that. My last drawn is actually pretty close to the median for designers with 0-2 yrs xp . Thank you Abhinav🙂
How to get a remote job in US from India? What are the specific websites and companies that are making it possible?
Not possible bro even if you get somehow remote job of usa company
They will adjust your salary according to your geographical location which will be equivalent to or slightly higher than what indian companies are paying
In short don't expect to earn $100k - $200k which is what us employees get
For that you need work permit thats why they always ask us authorization before proceeding
When is 2023 report coming out?
Being myself Designer in an agency worked for almost 1.3 years i tell u that in India companies not even consider paying designers in that range. I was getting paid 1.5 LPA i left the job finding better opportunities also the hiring they want everything from a designer from ux to ui and they pay you 3 to 5 LPA at max. If possible please make video on how to find fair value job where designers get recognised on their work
Thanks for the video #ABNUX you made me realise there are people who is actually getting paid for their hardwork ✨
definitely! and make note of the point mentioned: revenue per employee is higher for product companies, that’s why they can pay more than services companies / agencies
Cani i do job in foreign countries as an ui/ux designer if yess please guide me how?
6:19 Finished my grad in engineering. Did an MBA from IIM. Worked for around 4 years before making a switch into design almost an year back. Having given a lot of interviews I still find it very difficult to convince the hiring managers to match those kind of numbers(35 lpa). Don't know what should change to make that kind of money.
Hmm yeah; probably because they see you as 1 year of design experience? If so, might be closer to median
I am making more than median for that range(0-2). But I always feel that I bring in more value to a role from my previous experience than just my limited experience in design. Guess it's fine as long as I get to learn the frameworks and nuances of product design.🙂

Hey Harshit,
I am glad to know about your experience I currently a 10th passout pursuing commerce.
Would love to know about your experiences and learn from them.
How can we connect?

hi @gupta. I am the exact same boat as you. engineering. graduated from an IIM. can i connect with you on LinkedIn or via email?
Aren't you guys somehow misguiding The aspirimg and non aspiring designers by showing the wrong salary standards..? People nowadays jump into so called ui/ux design because they think it pays well..
I meant to say that you should always show the lower standards as well so that aspiring designers don't get demotivated at the beginning..
FYI THE LOWER STANDARDS STARTS FROM 1.9lpa 0-2 yrs exp.. According to online sites like glassdoor and ambitionbox.. And avg is 12 lpa 4-5 yrs exp..
It's good to set standards high but at the same time APD also need to know the real truth..
According to my observation PDs increase d exponentially b/w 20-22.. And still increasing..
Credit goes to u guys for the contribution to the design community ..
#designlife
Yes that's what he said that good product based company will pay u good. I too have seen the stats. Maybe those are for service based designer roles. So that should be our aim.
@ABNUX A general question.
If a person want to switch career to design, how he/she is considered..?
Fact is he/she is not a fresher, as he/she would have worked 3,4,5 years in other domain. And he/she is not experienced one when it comes to design..?
In this scenario, what is your opinion when it come to package..? How to deal with this hard nut..?
You'll still start around 7-10LPA, but can build up towards 20+ within 2-3 years
@@abnux are you sure at least 70% if not 100%. Because figures in this video are really tempting and putting the aspire designers in real pressure.
Some time it feels, other designers fallowing some other path,
Taking career decisions at your 30's is really a nightmare..
Why don't you see the Job portal in linkeIn there you will get an idea of how much they are willing to pay. The numbers are way higher in the video according to me
truth have been spoken
How much salary does an designer has per month ?
help me out with any entry level opportunities!
i did not understand the stock part
I am pretty sure no company offers this salary in India. Even the likes of startups like cred and phonepe. These could definiteley be remote salaries
CRED and PhonePe start at 8-15LPA range for Product Designer 1
100% agree on that 8-20 lpa starting. I am talking about 5-8 years and 93 as base pay. I find this absurd. I am not into design so not sure but I just dont think its possible for them to beat tech salaries of Google Amazon and likes. Some numbers mentioned here are prolly consulting/remote ones.
True - startups usually tend to give stock options instead of a large salary
@@abnux Exactly. Makes sense. I am into ML/AI and I had no idea UI/UX is another lucrative field with less supply. Thanks for the info and helping the community become more aware
Bro , I'm a bdes fresher at IIT Guwahati. This year 5-10 seniors from our department bagged a package of 52lpa. 85% people of the batch got more than 15lpa. I wonder what'll be their salary in 10 years . I saw people who earned 10k per month now getting 1 cpa in 10-15 years of experience. But what's the case of these people earning 50lpa from starting itself, If they're are good at their work and switch jobs every years ( i mean the best case ) !? What's the maximum salary you've heard of a designer(lead) in India ?
On the high end, I know designers who have single/double/triple digit crore compensations but not possible without ESOPs, stock options or owning your own company
I am not sure if this shows the true reality! How can i check which company Designer's were chosen for the survey?
if im a ui/ux graduate from an IIT, bombay or guwahati, how much package can i expect?
10-15 LPA if you have a good portfolio
I am planning to learn UX design. I am working in different field in IT from 5 years. Want to move to UX. Is it possible now?? Please guide me.
possible! Make a plan, learn the skills, build your portfolio. will be making a video soon
🤣🤣🤣
Hey Abhinav, this question might have been addressed in your previous videos---is coding knowledge essential to become a UX designer?
Nope not necessary! Check out the video on the channel called #1 misconception 🙂
No
@@abnux Thanks!
Thanks!
Hi brother if ui ux designer age limit for job
I am soon gonna become rich
Abhi tell me one thing, one has to be good in sketch and drawing/art for UX designer. I have always seen UX people are extremely good in that.
Nope not needed 🙂 Check out the #1 misconception video on the channel

oops
I think participants took this survey in a funny way, and given ooljalool data. Itni salary rehti to designer ko youtuber banne ka na to jarurat hota na time.......lol 😀
Hey abhi and jayneil , if in india designers are being paid thissss well then why still people decide to go abroad for study and work ? Asking from a design career perspective.
To change company types & colleagues; Lifestyle & immigration - being in a first world country, travelling Europe etc
But developers still earn more than designers if I'm not wrong ..... But the median salary of developers is also around 8 lakhs or maybe even less like 7lakh for freshers .... So how come designers are able to get above 8 lakhs ....
He's sampled only well funded Product startups of Bangalore. Ignored all other type of companies & locations. If you include agencies/service companies/smaller startups as well the figure will be much smaller than average devloper salaries.
No MNC is hurt in this video :😂
This makes me so much more comfortable about negotiating a better salary on a job offer I just recieved.
awesome, glad to hear that!
First - It's not base-pay, it's a CTC with all the taxes and stuff. Second - don't glorify the ESOPs options, you get around 10-20% of your CTC value in ESOPs that too vested across 4 or 5 years so if you're not staying at the same company for 4-5 years, you don't get full value out of your ESOPs.
that’s only true for entry & mid level roles. As you go more senior and leadership in good startups, ESOPs can be 2x to 4x your salary with annual or frequent buybacks to make it liquid
@Meet Shah ... On point! Glad someone pointed this out.
designers who run do business or have edtech products earn more Than in doing jobs
yes 😃 because people who create businesses pay the salaries of those that work in the businesses; that’s how our economy works
planning to move abroad but this video Scared the shit out of me,I won't leave my country ever I'll travel, explore but I'll pay tax here only thanks for the video India Have a bright future ahead!
Better salaries will not buy you clean air, good public infrastructure, less traffic & good drainage system that can handle heavy rains not to mention good + affordable education for your kids.
@@prafulpatel4411 I choose the middle option of going to Europe instead of US Or CANADA some European countries are cheaper to live in and at the same time provides everything

*Note:* I did go through the salary update a few weeks ago (as I was a HR/Recruiter prior to switching career & start learning UI/UX - I like to keep a tab on the latest salary trend in the Tech Industry) but I couldn't grasp the fact that someone could actually make this much in such a short period of time. But hot damn 😲 🤯. Btw your _Pyjama Profits_ was well ahead of its time 🤌🏼.
Glad to hear that, thanks ✌️
This video paints a very rosey picture. I hope some HRs watch this and get fooled into offering excessively lucrative salaries for designers. Startups with funding and some big tech companies can pay high figures but not the ridiculous figures quoted in this video. Why would a designer with 5-8 years of experience be paid 90 lakhs?
In leadership positions or earning in usd ie $110k which is way lesser than global for that range of talent
$50k-100k per annum is starting salaries globally (US, EU) for design. At 5-8 years experience many folks start agencies, which can do $50k-$100k per project
But yes I can understand, it’s not the default for everyone and depends on effort and luck
@@abnux Many people don't start agencies after 5-8 years of experience. If a UA-cam channel is considered as an agency then maybe. 5-8 years isn't even enough to grasp UX/UI Design. There's so much to learn that most designers will be refining their skills instead of thinking about starting an agency.
