I have been ghost watcher for a while, but I think I must comment now. This video was very inspiring for me. Just like her case, I am from Raipur and my college IGKV isn't that great. Hearing from people like her pumps me and gives me hope that one day, if I work hard enough in the field of UI/UX maybe I'll make it big too. More power to you Abhinav Bhaiyya 🙏🏻
Man can so much being from tier 2-3 city and college and having such a low expectations. And All of Sudden gets into the 10k Community and your whole life just got changed. Super grateful for this❤💜.
This was so fun to watch, i have just started my UX career a couple of months ago and sometimes while working we start questioning our value, but interviews/talks like this one are much needed from time to time. Thanks 10kDesigners! 😃
hey Soumya, that takes a lot of courage to say all that out! more and more power to you, you're truly inspirational:) Shout out to Abnux and Jayneil to capture this:')
Thank you for sharing this, such a inspiring story! I'm new to UX, documenting my journey and you do start from the bottom; but the bottom is not where you're going to stay. ❤
Hello sir! I am a self-taught UX/UI designer working as an associate UX/UI designer at a startup. I don't have much experience. After my graduation in jun 2021 I started UX/UI design seriously. I applied in various companies but didn't get internship. Before getting the job in the current company I worked as an intern in the same company for 4 months after that I got converted into a full-time employee this July. The thing is I am only getting social media posts to design, they say we'll introduce you to clients once we feel you're ready and we are giving social media work so that you get your foundations clear. I've hardly worked on UX/UI related things some of them include Heuristics evaluation, competitor analysis, but the majority of the time I've been working on is designing social media designs for the company and it's clients. I am not denying that I am very good at designing at the moment. Also, I don't deny doing social media design work as I know foundations must be solid. I am a bit sceptical to continue in the same place as I feel that I am not getting much work related to UX/UI and i am not seeing a growth. And whenever in future I want to switch I won't have enough experience regarding the same. Like I don't mind designing social media posts but everytime doing the same thing, I'm getting bored of it and also I'm not getting to learn about UX/UI.I plan and try to learn UX/UI in weekend whenever I get free time after office hours or in weekend, but I am unable to do so as I don't feel like doing anything as I feel exhausted. What should I do? Should I leave my job and take few months break and learn from the internet or take some formal design education. I am very much confused and frustrated as well because as days pass I feel I am not doing anything. I am a self-taught UX/UI designer working as an associate UX/UI designer at a startup. Nice podcast, helped me remind myself everyone start at the bottom and with persistence and continues improvement one can achieve much more in next few years. Very candid talk by Soumya and thanks a lot Abhinav and Jayneil for hosting. Great initiative!
I also started my Designing journey by watching your youtube videos abhinav. I also come from a small city of Chhattisgarh. I was working as a S/w engineer in Blr but now I have switched my profile to UX/UI. The way you speak about design is quite intimidating for me. Good luck to soumya. And I hope to see more videos in your channel!
