Just ordered mine for my Pitch too, opted for 34T
Awesome, its not a bad choice
That is super original and strong crank
Is the bottom bracket made of plastic? Just Rex’s mine from Amazon and the bottom bracket bearings are encased in a plastic. Not an aluminum alloy. Plastic holds up?
I ended up replacing it by choice, not because it failed. It seemed to work fine though
Hi. What chain do you use? After installing the ixf crankset my stock chain is grinding on something and I have no idea what it is. Any ideas?
You may have to adjust your rear derailleur after installing a new crankset.
Any idea how many mm the chainline is for these cranks? Trying to find anything less than a 52mm chainline to accommodate a 135mm rear hub but I’m not finding anything that’s fitting my budget at the moment.
I’m sorry, I don’t know. If your budget it tight I would say look up a pair pf JG cranks from amazon. Those cranks plus a JG chainring would run you less then the IXF. I used them on a mongoose Ledge X1 build, and they run fine.
Btw The Ledge also had a 135mm rear hub. If that helps at all
@@RomansDowntime that helps tremendously, thanks!
You got a thumbs up from me, love your cat too!
Thank you! She’s pretty dope
Hi! Didn't you needed to put a spacer on tbe drive side , thanks!!
I didn't end up needing any with the bottom bracket included.
🔥
was your frame's bb tube 73mm or 68mm ? wondering how many spacers i would need and still be able to keep the chain line close to correct.
Its approximately 73mm. I would suggest to double check it while your installing it. I didn’t need a spacer with the ixf’s bb. Yet I needed to put a spacer when i replaced the bb with a shimano bb.
Hello. How you set up spacer?
One spacer between the bike and bb if you think your chainring is to close or touching your chain stay.
Just ordered one for my 29” hardtail cube, hoping to switch it to a 1 x for just canals, cycle tracks, beach front type of strolling with the family, but the occasional shred near home for my own sanity, how have you found the oval chainring to a round one please?…. 👍🏼🇺🇸🏴
In my honest opinion, its pretty difficult for the average rider (me included) to notice any significant difference when comparing oval chainrings to round one. A standard round one would be fine for the type of riding you mentioned, but an oval doesn’t hurt. My opinion, buy whatever is on sale or for a better price.
Hi, I noticed you running an oval ring on this. How do you find them, do you notice a difference on climbs. Thanks
I wish i could say yes. However, i don’t think most average riders can see any significant difference. Maybe a confidence booster at best
Thanks for the reply, thought as much. Happy riding anyway👍
@@evo1007 No problem bro!
It’s a good crankset. I have them on my budget bikes. Been using them for 2 years now. Still works great.
Thats awesome!
what is the maximum 1x chainring teeth count for modern day mountain bikes? is 38T the limit?
Sorry dude, thats not something I know, and I don’t want to give you bad information.
48T Is the max chainring, you can go big if your knees are like sagan's. But if you ride in the trails, 32 is more better
what replacement bb did you use?
The ixf comes with one, if you mean the one in the videos.
@@RomansDowntime will it fit on shimano bb?
Will this work with an 11 speed SRAM NX?
It should work just fine as long as you use some sort of narrow wide chainring
Is it okay to put 50t chainring??
Sorry, I wouldn’t know. Most i have ever gone is to 30-34
What do you ride with those cranks cuz I dj and I'm wondering if they would hold up for that
I primarily use this for cross country or trail rides. They seem really well constructed all things considered, but I wouldn’t know how they would fare at a bike park yet.
Can you do this 2x? What bcd
I’m not sure to be honest, I did see additional mounts on the cranks though. The chainring was a104 bcd
Got mine unfortunately got loose threads i use it on my retro mtb
The bottom bracket definitely looked like the weakest part of the set. I think i swapped it with a shimano BB and its still going strong from what i hear
is the spindle alloy or steel?
I don’t remember tbh, this is as a while ago.
yep its a good crankset..i use it on my DH bike...
Sure is
I almost bought an IXF crankset but got lucky on OfferUp and found a Sram 1x for a killer deal ........ nice vid
Thank you! I would have definitely chosen sram cranks over these, but i don’t regret trying them out at all.
@@RomansDowntime I have several friends that ride in them and ride hard but I paid $20 for the crank arms and BB it was a no brainer ill be buying some IXF for future builds I'm sure
Oh, you know I love them ixf cranks!!!
@@TheCaptainsCog lol I know you do . I just haven't tried them yet
I just ordered these cranks and BB for my old hard tail 650b. The generic BBs ive to be mostly ok but I'll probably put a Shimano BB on that bike.
Thats actually what i ended up doing. The BB these cranks came with are ok, but I felt more comfortable putting a shimano BB with these cranks
@@RomansDowntime That's a better option long term.
Which specific shimano bottom bracket did you put on? (I wanna make sure I get the right parts and won’t have to return them because they were the wrong type)
@@maxd925 You would need to look at what your bike has now and go from there.
@@maxd925 BB52 fits
OK nman idol yan gamit ko now,

@@RomansDowntime I’m ight my bike wasn’t though 😂
@@collinscarbro4589 Good to hear, better something so easy to replace.
Music was very dramatic I thought someone was gonna die lol
Lol, i had to change some of the music. Due to a copyright claim, even though I use royalty free music
Oh well 🤷
good feal but need 175mm only in 170
Maybe try a shinano Deore, or FSA comet crankset
I have the same pedals
They are dope pedals 👌
@@RomansDowntime BIG
@@RomansDowntime I never had proper big pedals before 🤟😎
