That explains how the screen got cracked. Whoever worked on the machine before, cracked the screen, trying to find out where the backlight track goes !! Well done fella !
That laptop has a touchscreen , so 1st you followed the touch connector, where u replaced that fuse , not the actual LVDS screen connector😂. Good to keep in mind when u see this type of screens , all glass , no bezel , they are most likely touchscreens , one connector for the touch , one for the display
What a brilliant fix! I love coming across this sort of issue...one that makes you seriously smile from ear to ear when you find it. Thanks for all of your wonderful videos and for just being you! 😊
Salut! I'm glad to see this amazing video before to open dell latitude 7430, model P135G withe the same issue. The story is the same, with cracked screen an the new one has no backlight. Thanks for video, good job!
Love that you committed to fixing this machine despite how long it would take because you empathised with your customer, and happier yet to see that the vid was only 24 mins long with a full repair. Crazy insane fault as you said, well found and fixed, a pleasure to watch and learn!
dont judge other technician work. if you see that the device is tempered before you and a bad job was done, yes probably a good idea to reject the repair, but never judge the work.
Nice. To see you found the connector tree pins together. That was important to find the bad soldering. Thanks Sorin. I will use this in our shop . And pass it on. Lots of Dell laptops
Sorin, come on job was not hard! You failed to check the backlight voltage last time otherwise this wouldn't have happened. We all make mistakes cause we are just human... Tbanks for all your work and videos. You're still a great guy!
Dell laptop displays are like that with the glue on them instead of screws. They have been making them that way for about the past 8 years or so and they are meant to be open, especially if you have to replace just the display, wifi antenna, lid, video cable, etc.
Good job Sorin!
Some of the backlight issue can be due to gpu as I also have a issue with my dell laptop in which gpu is damaged due to overheating and when reflowed it works but with no backlight but turn on when gpu is hot then it turns on with backlight
Lol same story happened with me Yesterday on a device. I had to solder again 3 times to get it working.... i think bad contact on motherboard even with flux and 180 degree solder lmao
This is the reason I stopped doing jobs on a "per fix" basis and I'm not knocking your business model, what works for you works for you. When I started out 20ish years ago I'd do a per fix rate and I ended up working for pennies some days because I was repairing other peoples bad work more often than not. I changed my business model to an hourly rate and I stopped getting other people's mistakes and bad work, fixing other peoples "repairs" is a tough job and one I'd rather not do... I think it's great that people attempt their own repairs and I'd help them with advice, where to get parts and so on but repairing their mistakes for a flat fee wasn't for me and it worked because I'm practically retired at 56 and I just pick jobs I want to do nowadays instead of taking every job. Apple and their bad designs helped me retire early so I'd like to thank them first🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Love your videos Sorin😍
he is more flexible, he dont just charge per fix, but also by the work hes doing, so if he is required to solder port on inexpensive device, he does it in fast manner, for like 5-10 minutes and charges small amount, if the job is too much time consuming, he wont accept it, because he needs to charge more the customer and its not worth for the customer.. for motherboard fault hes rates are much higher and for data recovery he charges per hour
Can someone please tell me, what is the name of the tool used to test circuits and energize them? The values that appear in all videos in the upper left corner. Thank you for your time, and excellent video as always.
Good evening sir, I am new here but I have been watching your tutorial since two day back, please help me how use multimeter on test computer motherboard. Thank you
You keep mentioning invertor boards on displays but aren't invertor boards no longer used? Weren't they used for cold cathode displays decades ago where the board main purpose was to convert the DC from the laptop into AC for the old stype backlights?
Hi Sorin, The OLED display creates an image by emitting colors and light using LEDs. It is not possible for an OLED display to have an image and not have a backlight. This is probably an IPS display.
Those fuse joints could have been a LOT better if you had just used a little bit of flux and leaded solder. The machine wouldn't have come back in the first place then.
Sorin, curious: are you going to charge the customer for this 2nd repair and if yes how much? Since your first diagnose was not correct but still it wasn't your fault at all and the first fuse had to be replaced anyway .. kinda tricky decision, so I am wondering ;)
While you're indeed getting older, as we all are, I don't think you should worry about that. But I do notice you more tired than in previous videos. You might need a medical check.
you never fail to make me laugh every time you mention the proper calibrated fuse.
"we have a picture - I can't believe" this guy needs to be a celebrity
No he corrected himself, we have "backlight - forget about the picture" 😆
That explains how the screen got cracked. Whoever worked on the machine before, cracked the screen, trying to find out where the backlight track goes !! Well done fella !
Bravo Sorin! You would make a great detective! You are getting wiser, not older, and we love you for your sage wisdom!
I love this teacher
its been 5 years learning from his videos
Greetings from Bulgaria! Sometimes you need to check twice you know. As we say, if it is not working at the first time, it will work on the third 😄
A real lesson in tracing a circuit to the fault! Fantastic, as ever.

So much fun to see Sorin experiencing joy.
Sorin you are a nice person, thumbs up for always trying to do things right for the customer
Terms & Condition changes ,..... We have Backlight !!!
What a brilliant fix! I love coming across this sort of issue...one that makes you seriously smile from ear to ear when you find it. Thanks for all of your wonderful videos and for just being you! 😊
the best teacher ever ......you make it easy and simple well explained ...
Good job Sorin, your videos are very educational, I have been following you for 1 year, many greetings from Ecuador.
Salut!
I'm glad to see this amazing video before to open dell latitude 7430, model P135G withe the same issue. The story is the same, with cracked screen an the new one has no backlight.
Thanks for video, good job!
Getting old is better than not getting old.

Thats why we dont like when other people work on a job before we did.
Ironically, the same can be said by the man who works after you. No intention to offend anyone.
True and he should say it if he wanna run a business that makes money@@thomass7877
@@thomass7877true there

I love that feeling when you finally fix something
Nice. To see you found the connector tree pins together. That was important to find the bad soldering. Thanks Sorin. I will use this in our shop . And pass it on. Lots of Dell laptops
Is your shop in The Netherlands?
Sorin amazing knowledge .
Love you sorin for me you will never be old I love all things you do ❤❤❤

Sir Sorin, you are the master of the electronics ! Thank you very much, people with the same issue will thank you for this.
Great job there, mate. The seconde repair trial is the best.😊👌👌
Proper calibrated fuse...lol you make me smile.
Good job Sorin!
Congratulations on your 1001st 🎉🎉🎉
great lesson sir thank you so much
Not getting old Sorin, you are simply cleaning up someone else's dodgy workmanship. Nice job!
I definitely love to have a shirt
"We have picture"
Brilliant Sorin I’m happy for you well done nice technique 😊
Hi Sorin I like very much your videos! you are very funny too! Keep the good work!
Good job mate 👍
7:10 i am not 100% sure but may be that is for IR face recognition
Your my inspiration
You’re a genius 😊
Some of the backlight issue can be due to gpu as I also have a issue with my dell laptop in which gpu is damaged due to overheating and when reflowed it works but with no backlight but turn on when gpu is hot then it turns on with backlight
It's always good to double check in future to save hassle
LEGEND - Next level tech!
Nice Job!
Sorin... we are all getting old. 🙂
Always worth watching, "you don't need that switch", good to know - it's just another part waiting to fail! lol
ahh the classic moses soldering .. parted the solder! 😆
Nice job sorin
Lol same story happened with me Yesterday on a device. I had to solder again 3 times to get it working.... i think bad contact on motherboard even with flux and 180 degree solder lmao

could you take the screen and put it in the oven on lowest setting to get the glue soft? Would it come apart easier?
2:20 that looks like a burn mark from a hot air machine
Can someone please tell me, what is the name of the tool used to test circuits and energize them? The values that appear in all videos in the upper left corner. Thank you for your time, and excellent video as always.
You are good enough ❤
Good evening sir, I am new here but I have been watching your tutorial since two day back, please help me how use multimeter on test computer motherboard.
Thank you
they had a facial recognition with that screen 😂😂😂... wow you can track main fault ...of supply 👏👏👏
😊sorrin is happy
I hope the one who soldered that loose fuse before is watching 😂
Nice one
Looks easy to repair, but only in the hands of master sorin .. knowledge is power+money ..lol
You keep mentioning invertor boards on displays but aren't invertor boards no longer used? Weren't they used for cold cathode displays decades ago where the board main purpose was to convert the DC from the laptop into AC for the old stype backlights?
hi memory chip behind screen could it be independent for face recognition ! memory !

21:11 🤣good jajaj+++!!!!!!!!!!!
We're all getting old, such is time
Did he unplugged the battery before connecting the screen connector? Otherwise the fuse will blow.
Moral of this story: No matter how hard a job may look, there's always a chance of luck on your side 😊
I'm sorry but there was no luck here. Pure knowledge and experience that's accumulated over the years, Sorin's white hair tells it all 😅
No matter how hard job is, There is always Sorin to have a picture ;)
Amazing❤❤
Very soon we will start learning how to detect other people’s fault rather than original faults 😅😅😅
It took 4 minutes to unpack the laptop.
Those fuse joints could have been a LOT better if you had just used a little bit of flux and leaded solder. The machine wouldn't have come back in the first place then.
Yep crazy. Crazy Glue fast drying will not work no
😂 awesome sir it's electronic ❤ I love 😘
Did Sorin solder that fuse or? Who did?
We've been younger, but it's not that, it's the designers getting creepier. 🤑
This is the nice laptop
That was insane
How did you know that is fuse? it looks like cap.
next to the component there is silk screen designated F4, F means fuse
caps are yellow is, fuses tend to be white and may have "A" letter with some value
Use only ,proper calibrated fuse that all😂😜
perfect
We have backlight!!
Sorin, curious: are you going to charge the customer for this 2nd repair and if yes how much? Since your first diagnose was not correct but still it wasn't your fault at all and the first fuse had to be replaced anyway .. kinda tricky decision, so I am wondering ;)
in his country he cant charge this job, because he needs to give some time for warranty of his repair work
@@ДимитърАндонов-ъ7е but his repair was good. It was not him replacing that poorly soldered fuse.
Super dépannage Me Sorin yees!!!!
This doesn't make any sense. There was no backlight before, when the screen was cracked. When was the fuse unsoldered?
the laptop was at another technician before Sorin, so there the fuse was changed.
WoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoW niCe very NiCe
Proper calibrated fuse 😂
We all have days like this. Just blame it on the 👉 🦆
Whoa it's TOUCHSCREEN! ah, lol
