    Blood wood, puprle heart, yellow heart, wenge... They are all like granite! I am making Love Spoons along with Intarsia, but the added hand carving makes these woods a lot tougher to use. When I saw you picked blood wood and those long lines, I was thinking, have fun with going through blades. Only four!?!?!?!

    I just started the knock and will be donating it to my church when I finish. It is a boatful ,piece and you did a fabulous job on it . I made my frame first and will placed the pieces in as I go .Never tried it this way before but it made sense to me to do it that way.

    First that is beautiful creation. I have had an interest in trying intarsia for some time. I have watched several of your videos and because of you I am going to give it a try when the blasted weather warms up. lastly, what is the brand of your cylinder sander? I hear you call it pneumatic but it has a power cord. pneumatic usually refers to air powered. thank you.

    • @CysCorner
      @CysCorner  2 роки тому

      Hello! Thank you. I'm excited to hear you are giving intarsia a try! Yay! My sander is a Woodtek, sadly it is no longer available. I do have a link for one that is similar. These are pneumatic drum sanders, the drum is filled with air. I love my Woodtek, this other one here is nearly the same, I removed my flap sander. :)

    I agree, bloodwood is hard to cut. I find that weng is difficult to. I agree that a number 5 works better than the small blades.

    That’s simply amazing!!! I’ve had the same pattern for a number of years, just haven’t gotten around to work on it. You’ve given me more ambition to take another look. I loved your wood choices and the way you laid it out. Was the plexiglass to protect the paper? Nice job!

    • @CysCorner
      @CysCorner  2 роки тому +1

      The plexiglass was so I could put the pieces on the pattern but have a hard surface for it to sit on but see through it. It also provides a nice flat surface that I have a hard time finding in the shop, with glue stuck on things and sagging surfaces. It does protect the pattern too, if it covers the whole thing anyway! I ended up using a large piece of plywood later, not so much protection for the pattern but it was a nice solid and flat surface! I'm excited for you to make this one too!

    Hello, and thank you for such outstanding scroll saw art on your youtube channel. I know you may get this question a lot but what would you recommend to start with a scroll saw? I am getting into it and bought a used Ryobi that turns out is too rusted to hold pinless blades.
    Do you have a cheaper recommendation that one could start with?

    • @CysCorner
      @CysCorner  Рік тому

      Hello, sorry to hear your saw is too rusty! I have heard a lot of good things about the Dewalt scroll saws, those are around 500 or so. I did buy a WEN scroll saw and it held both pinned and pinless blades, it worked well for the money, it was less than 150 bucks. Also, you can find some smashing deals at garage sales! Hope that helps.

Hope you had a great Easter.

      Thank you, I thought blood wood was an appropriate wood for Jesus' robe. :) It is very dense along with the wenge. I know you did an entire schnauzer out of wenge, bet that was difficult! I have so many more I want to make too! Hope you enjoyed celebrating Jesus' resurrection!

    I am brand new to scroll sawing. have not cut anything yet,but I love this picture. just went to Klingspore show at the Hickory convention center, and a man had this pic for sale. I wanted it but someone had already bought it. I know I have a lot to learn but I really want to try my hand at this picture. So could you please tell me where you got the picture and how you blowed it up to look like a pattern. thanks.
